Tokra almost burst through the door as tears began to move down his cheeks. He walked over to the edge of the school and sat down, staring out into the distance. He wanted someone, anyone to tell him things were going to be alright. Most of all he wanted Ayden there beside him, but he knew that she wasn't there. She wasn't even in the school anymore. She was gone.
He heard a soft whimpering behind him as an animal nose nudge its way under one of his hands. He looked down and saw Faolan, and he couldn't stop himself then. He wrapped his arms around the young wolf and just cried into Faolan. After a few moments he raised his head and looked at his new companion.
"Sorry about that, I couldn't control it." Faolan just licked his face, causing him to form a sad smile, "Thanks, pal."
He sat back up and watched the sun set, still wishing Ayden was there to watch it with him. Faolan rested his head on Tokra's leg and just laid there, allowing Tokra to run his fingers through the young wolf's fur.
"I know he's out there, Faolan. He killed my parents and now he's back. Ayden's gone, and I don't know what to do anymore."
