*Conner had a slight brake before him an Nelly ran off to the airport. He rode back to the hide out as fast as he could. He was still in his suit from the wedding, he didn't have time to change. There he found Maron.*
Maron, why didn't you show up? I was hoping you would come.
*She was the only person, other than Nelly, that he really was looking forward to seeing at the church. He didn't care if she looked nice or not but he did want to see that she supported him.*

Maron had intentionally skipped the wedding for several reasons. The first was no one wanted her to go to it. They'd said they wouldn't go if she had gone. The second was because she was still quite annoyed with him, even though her mind registered that anger as her being rebellious. And the third? She felt that ever since Nelly had entered the picture, he didn't give a flying hoot about her. He'd stepped into her life when she was younger, taken her under his wing. Raised her as his own little sister. Protected her from everything! And then he just... left. Just like that. No warning. Nothing. Just L.E.F.T.
And that had hurt Maron more then anything. She'd been abandoned! She'd expect that from other Runaways that weren't to fond of her, but Conner?!
Maron lay on the couch in one of the small entertainment rooms, her feet propped up on one of the arms, her head on the other arm. A book in her hands. Ever since her abandonment she'd taken a liking to reading many books. Her room was becoming a mini library. Her read glasses rested against the bridge of her nose, her eyes not even looking at him when he entered. From the way this person had stormed in, she knew who it was. Conner.
"I told you I wasn't going. You know, the last time you were here a few weeks ago. Or was it a few months ago? I can't remember. You're rarely here anyways."

*Conner sighed, she was back to acting up again.*
Maron, I'll try to be home more often. After the honeymoon Wicked is expecting me to build a house. My life isn't exactly easy, but I still wan't to be apart of your life. I'll make time for you.
*He knew if he didn't hurry he would be late for the flight, but at this moment he didn't care, he knew that Maron needed him and that he needed to talk to her.*

A millions emotions rushed through Maron when she heard those words. He wanted to be apart of her life. A part of her scoffed. He wanted to be apart now? What about the past two years?!?! Was she supposed to forget everything?! But another part of her was happy. Was he finally remembering she existed?! She cut off that hopeful dwelling off at the knees. She wouldn't admit it. Duh she need him in her life! Her life was Hell! She needed someone to tell her everything would be alright, to just hold her when she wanted to be held, and to just be there!
Like Conner had been...
Suddenly though, Maron was furious. At herself, at Conner, at the whole world. Frustration drove her actions, as she violently chucked her book at the nearest wall with a loud BANG!. She was sitting up then, glaring angrily at his boots, since she dare not look up higher. "Now you want to be here? NOW?! After leaving me here alone with people who hate me for two years?!"

*Conner just let her explode. He knew that he had been terrible to her. He hadn't been there and now he was going to suffer the consequences. He sat down next to her and leaning on his fists, his elbows on his knees.*
Just let it out. It's about time I started doing better.
*He hadn't prepared to be yelled at before the honeymoon but knew that that was what he needed to do now.*
I know that I've been terrible to you, just let it all out.

She just looked away when he moved closer, lowering himself onto the part of the couch she had just freed up. Drat. She should have stayed lounging like that! Then he wouldn't have had any room to sit! Curses... Ugh! And why'd he have to talk like that?! It made her feel like she was the one being wrong and stupid! IT made her feel guilty! She didn't want to feel guilty! She wanted him to be the guilty one!
Oh, she knew he didn't deserve this... Not today at least. He'd just gotten married for crying out loud! No one deserved to get yelled at on their wedding! Yet did Conner do anything to defend his action? Noooo. He was to good for that. He never got angry at her. Never. And right now, that really infuriated her. "Why? Why do you have to always be the good guy? You're just going to let me yell at you? Just like that?!"

*Conner knew what Maron was trying to do. She was trying to make him mad. He had already gotten a mouthful from Wicked. Her words did make him feel guilty, they even went as far as hurt him. He wasn't as happy as he should have been. But when he rejoined with Nelly, he would just put on a smile.*
I know you need to let it out, and I don't need to make it worse.
*He sighed, the smile off of his face.*

Oh yeah, she was trying to make him mad. Get him to leave, so she wouldn't get this guilty feeling about yelling at him like this. But oh was she mad at him! She couldn't help it! It was hard stopping herself from yelling at him more. But he was asking for it.... Should she for once actually listen and do what someone asked? Or be stubborn and disobey any and all requests from him?
"You have no idea how angry I am with you right now.... How angry I've been with you since you just got up and vanished! You didn't say anything! Just got up and left!" Maron was hurting, expressing these emotions... It hurt. Oh it hurt. "Do you have any idea how hard it was?! What sort of person just leaves a kid with a bunch of strangers?! God!" She cursed, her head in her hands as she tried to suppress any more emotions spilling from her lips.

*Conner didn't say anything, he was feeling even worse now. He also had a feeling that some up coming events would make him disappear, for an even longer time, and he didn't want that. He wanted to stay and help Maron. He stared at the carpet now, he just let out a sigh. He knew that he had missed a lot and wished that he could redo it all, but that wasn't the case.*

Maron wanted to stop. To just shut up and make them both wallow in pity and guilt. But no. She wasn't the type of person to do that. If you got her venting, she would keep on venting until it was all out. And she had two years worth built up. She was on her feet now, arms folded so tightly against herself that she almost cut off the blood flow to the limbs. "You wouldn't answer calls or texts or anything! Do you even know what it's like to have to talk to someone you can trust and no one is there?!" Maron was trembling now. Furious, sad, and even scared. As if she were reliving all those moments. "And even when you were here, you wouldn't pay me any attention! No matter what I did to try and get you to at least look at me!"
All she had done, all her rebelling... Hair dying, nose piercing, back talking, swearing, everything had been just to try and get his attention. To make him remember who she even was.

*Conner was still silent. He had noticed the changes, but had been so busy. At this moment he wished that he could just go up and hide in Alaska for the rest of his life, even though he only had supplies to last him a few days in his cave. He knew that Maron would rant for a long time. But he was ready to take it. He listened to every word, not moving from his spot, except for the occupational deep breath, or sigh that he let out.*

Why wasn’t he saying anything?! All it did was make her even more angry! He didn’t say she was right, or wrong, or try to comfort her, or anything! It was so infuriating! Why couldn’t he just say the things that would mend the bridge between them she had slashed away at? Why couldn’t he just say something that would make her feel better?! All the emotions bottling up inside her made her want to scream in fury and sorrow. No words could explain how she was feeling.
“Do you have any idea what it’s like to finally, finally have someone you care about, someone to tell you everything is going to be alright, to just hold you when the day has been like shit, or to just fix Mac and Cheese with you when you can’t do it yourself.” Of course he had someone like that… Nelly. But by now, she was crying, tears staining her cheeks. “And then have that person just throw you aside like some outdated toy, completely forgetting of your existences.”
Maron wanted to run, to just leave this wretched place and never return so she would never have to face these feelings again. “To have that person that was always special to you… Be the same as everyone else in this God Forsaken world?!” Her whole body trembled as she wrapped her arms even tighter around herself, trying to comfort herself. To tell herself that she didn’t need these people. If only she could convince herself of that… “That it finally takes destroying everything you really are to finally get that person to at least look at you! To do stupid, idiotic things just to try and make that person remember your name!”

*Conner listened. He didn't know how some of these things felt, but he could tell that Maron did.*
Your right Maron, I've been horrible to you, and I wish I could redo it all. But I can't, I don't know how to make it all better. I'm not good with this stuff.
*He Moved from his position and hugged the Trembling Maron. He could at least comfort her a little bit, if she would let him.*

Ugh! He did it again! Spoke like she should be the one regretting talking to him like this. She just wanted to run away, get away from everything so she’d never have to face what she’d said to him, or face his reaction to her words. He ‘wished’ he could make everything better, but would he? She doubted it… The old Conner would have. This one? The one that had gotten married only a few hours before? She didn’t know this Conner at all. He was a complete stranger.
“Oh. You’re not good at this stuff. That explains everything.” She was trying to hide her anger and sorrow with her now usual sarcasm. Chase him off, chase him off before he saw her cry. That was the plan. She used to always run to Conner when she needed to cry, or just be held. Not anymore. In the two years he was gone, she learned one thing. Tears were useless. Affection, was useless.
She didn’t move when he suddenly wrapped his arms around her, holding her just like he had so many years ago. It reawakened the memories of those times, willing her to hug him back. But no. She wouldn’t let herself return the sign of affection. She just stood there limply in his arms, hiding all reaction.

*Conner just stood there, he didn't know what to do. But he knew that he couldn't leave Maron like this. Maron needed him, at least that was what he thought. If she didn't he would feel awful but would leave.*
If you want me to go, I will.
*His hold remained the same as he awaited her response.*
