A Sister's Warning (Rose, Sky)

Sky sat on a bench and watched people go by, reading all of them with no trouble. She had enough room in her head, but Sky was concerned by how much fear was in the minds of these students. And the teachers. Sky then located Rose in the school.

"Ro-chan. Baby sister. I'm outside on a bench. Don't worry...I come in peace."

Patiently, Sky waited for Rose to come out. She had a warning to deliver.

[Rose North]

Rose had been up in her room, curled on the bed with a new book when she suddenly heard her sister's words echoing through her head. Sky? What was Sky doing here? Well.... It wasn't all that shocking... A part of Rose had always hoped Sky would leave the Nightmares and join the newly formed alliance between the school and Apocalypse. She couldn't see her sister following shadow, in whatever her insane cousin planned. She couldn't read minds like Sky or Parker, but she knew Shadow. Shadow would do something insane with this war brewing...

Rolling off her bed, she was quick to slip her shoes on, and was out the door without a second thought. Bouncing down the hallway and stairs, she sped towards where her sister was. And then, there she was. Smiling brightly, Rose hopped onto the bench Sky sat on, crouching by her sister and eyeing her curiously.
"I didn't think you'd come here. What do you need?"

Sky smiled as Rose sat down next to her, but it soon faded, becoming serious again.

You hear from that...Ian brat lately?

Sky carefully measured Rose's reaction to her words, hoping to not startle her too much, otherwise she knew her sister would run off doing something reckless.

[Rose North]

Rose was slightly taken back by her sister's seriousness, but none the less pondered on her words. When had she last seen Ian? They'd gone on a date and then..... Had she seen him since then?
"Um, as in the last couple days? No. Last time I saw him was almost a week ago."

She was curious. Why was Sky asking her about Ian? Didn't Sky already know near everything already? She had been digging around in Ian's head, after all. Maybe even Rose's!
"Why do you ask?"

Sighing, Sky's fears were confirmed. She hesitated, wondering if she really should tell her sister, but her worry for Rose overcame her thoughts of protecting Rose's feelings.

"Your Ian was captured by Cain. They're planning on sending him after you, in order to kill you." Sky could feel Rose's emotions rising rapidly, breaking the surface just a little. I'm sorry, Ro-chan, but after me telling you this, you have to promise me that you won't go rescue him on your own or with hair-brained brats whose powers haven't developed like last time."

[Rose North]

A look of surprise crossed Rose's face. What? What was her sister telling her...? No way! That wasn't even possible! Why would Sky lie about something like that?!
"I knew you didn't like Ian, but even that's going to far..." Why did Sky have to look so sure about what she had announced. It couldn't be true! She'd talked to Ian only last week! He couldn't be with Cain. Ian was on their side! More so then most others! He was... He was one of the driving forces in Tokyo! Ian would never join Cain!

"Rose, you know I would never lie to you. Especially about something like this. Even though I don't like him...I know you like him. I respect that. And you know that the Nightmares have numerous sources and we used to have contact with Cain. Ian was taken by force, if that reassures you."

Sky stood up, feeling hurt that her sister would think she would lie to her. But soon she shook it off and turned toward Rose. "They're turning him right now, although I would think that they're having some difficulty in that." Sky gave a wry smile at this. She then slowly knelt down in front of Rose, staring her down.

"I know it's hard to accept...but I'm not lying."
