"I never said you weren't able to take care of yourself Rose, but I know how your family is. I've met both Shadow and Sky, though I like Sky better than Shadow. I'm only saying that I'm not letting you face things alone that's all." he smiled, "I am your bodyguard remember? We made a promise, I watch you and you watch me right?"
He heard Sky's voice in his head and couldn't help but smile. Did she really think she was going to keep him from taking Rose? He heard voices from nearby and saw Angel and Tim walking on the grounds. He knew it was time to get him and Rose to a place out of the way, that way he could do his job and bring her back. He looked back to Rose and spoke in his usual soft and kind voice.
"Rose, let's go somewhere, just you and me. I can take you where ever you want to go. China, Hawaii, even Florida if you want."

We made a promise, I watch you and you watch me right?
Ian's words made her heart ache. How could this be anyone other then her Ian? Her hesitation suddenly vanished. Ian couldn't be evil... If he was.... he wouldn't have mentioned their promise. A promise that.... No matter what Rose had to keep. Hell, if Ian were evil? That would mean she'd have to do anything in her power to help him break free. And Ian... would hold up to his end of the deal. He wouldn't do anything to harm her... ever.
Rose finally smiled, softly though, unable to smile a little brighter then that. "Yeah. Sorry... I've just been... Confused lately. Everything that's happening. I'm not sure what to think anymore." She pressed her fingers to her forehead, rubbing the spot as if she had a headache. In some ways, she did. "I mean... with all these disappearances lately... First Logan, then Alex, I almost thought you'd been taken to..." She shook her head. "I just wish this was all over. I can't stand it. I want things to go back to normal. Not having to always be looking over your shoulder for ghosts...."
But then, Ian was asking to take her somewhere. What should she do? Should she give in? Or follow Sky's advice and stay away?! Ugh! It was just so confusing! "Yeah... Sure." The word's slipped through her lips before she could stop them. "But I don't really care where... Somewhere untouched by the war... Somewhere where I can actually think for a change." She didn't know of such a place, but Ian would be able to find somewhere. She knew he could...

Perfect, it worked he smiled to himself, he knew that if he mentioned their promise, he would win her over completely. Though he had been kidnapped and changed, his feelings for Rose and the promise they made never changed. He still would be her protector no matter what. When she started rubbing her forehead, he put his arms around her and held her close to him, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the dart that was given to him. As she mentioned about wanting it all to be over, he placed a hand on her neck. It was the hand that held the dart, and he used it to her neck. It was light, and to her it would just be an itch.
"Don't worry Rose, it will be over soon. I promise."
He smiled when she agreed to go somewhere. It was going better then he had hoped, but the only snag was getting out before Sky caught him. He picked Rose up, holding her in his arms as he sped down from the tree. He placed the dart at the trunk of the tree, hoping Sky would find it and realized she failed. A small chuckle, with Rose in his arms, he sped off towards the factory.

An itch? Why was Rose getting a sudden itch in the spot Ian's hand was? She'd already established he wasn't evil! So why was she suddenly on guard right then?! Ugh... Stupid nerves... Stupid Sky's warning... It'd made her paranoid.
And for good reason...
She felt odd, sluggish even. "What..?" Rose's head was swimming. What the hell? Ian... Had he drugged her somehow? Realization hit. That itch on her neck. He'd... pricked her with something! Rose tried to retaliate, stop Ian from whatever his plan was, but all attempts failed. "Ugh..." None of her body was responding, Dammit!
Ian was carefully holding her in his arms, she realized, just as he always would... So he was still the same Ian, somewhere in there... "Sky... Was right... about.... you..." And Rose should have listened... Her eyes drooped, falling... falling, into the darkness of sleep.
