Nothing in Particular (Open)

*Quiet mumblings could be overheard from a table somewhere within the Library. Ms. Lisbon had at least 50 books stacked all around her, some on the floor reaching the top of the table. The book she was reading at the moment contained information about the design of security systems. There was really no point in reading these books, since she had already read them five times before. But sometimes Revel was paranoid that she might be losing her power, which was obviously insane. But you could never tell with Revel if she was serious or not. She has a very strange way of being 'funny'.*

*No, the reason she was studying these books was because she was making sure she had them memorized for sure. She would say the next word before she read it, so she was speaking pretty fast and her words were slurred. None of the students who were studying around her understood what she was doing, but they were used to her quirks.*

*Not only was Revel paranoid about losing her power, but she was worried about another interference in the mansions security system, etc. There had already been many breaches, and she wanted to make sure she could fix something or notice if something was changed. Of course, she was great at the knowledge part, but not the initiating part. She could not use electronic devices worth crap, which is why she hated them. Even a simple cell phone, even a cord phone was too much for her. She preffered face-to-face conversations anyway.*

*So on Ms. Lisbon went studying, mumbling words that were sometimes logical to the human ear.*

Vin looked at Ms. Lisbon hesitantly, and then stood in front of her table a moment before speaking. "You're not losing your power," she said simply. Vin had had her own share of paranoia, but she never though something as ridicules as losing her mutant abilities. She was pretty sure that was impossible, anyway. "You can stop studying."

She didn't know Ms. Lisbon all that well, but she had a feeling they could be friends. Vin could get along with just about everybody.

*Ms. Lisbon went on for a few more sentences before she noticed someone in front of her. This someone had said something. What was it? Oh yes, now she remembered. Tawni set her book on the table and closed the book. She leaned forward and adjusted her round glasses. She smiled at the woman in front of her and whispered.*

"Paranoia is the safest defense against arrogance."

*She smiled once more, picked up her book, and started mumbling again. Tawni adjusted her glasses once more, but did not falter in her words. As she read, her hair shimmered with is mystical glow. Reading always made Tawni quite happy.*

Vin smirked slightly. "True, but that doesn't mean you have to go overboard," she pointed out. She sighed and picked up a book off the nearest shelf that she'd read a million times and sat down across from her. She opened it to the last page to read the ending, like she did with every book when she was too lazy to read the whole book over again.

"You're good at what you do," she looked up at Ms. Lisbon again for a second as she finished, "You should never doubt yourself because of paranoia."
