"Perhaps..." Rory said as he glanced over the note again. Then glanced at the pictures Freya had, he assumed those were probably the two people the note mentioned and the building was probably where the coordinates led to. "I prefer to make killing blows... Crippling isn't really my style." True, taking out Cain's intelligence soldiers would help the war against him, but not as much as killing him.
Freya was right though, and Rory should have thought of it that way. The more the learned, the easier it would be. That was rule one of taking down a powerful mutant in the Agency, you don't just attack them. You watch them, learn everything about them, then strike at their weakest moment. Funny that he had to be reminded of that from Freya, who was in fact a powerful mutant. "It's definitely easier to kill someone ye know than someone ye don't... Besides, it's better than nothing right?"
"Well, it will probably be a day or two's hike up the mountain. There will be no beds, and very little warmth, not to mention snow storms are very frequent here." He slowly turned to look at Freya, "Ye still up for this?" Rory was going through it, no doubt, but if Freya had any doubts then he would rather her stay. Her protection was more important to him than anything else, even catching Cain. Amazing that Rory could ever feel like that about someone.

"I don't like crippling either, but it works." Freya thought it was dirty, having to sneak around and weaken the person before going after them. She'd rather just charge in and take them out, no sneaking around involved. Rory though? He'd sneak, and stab from behind. Which was rather entertaining that they had such different fighting tactics. The same in so many ways, but complete opposites in battle.
She knew that knowledge was power in these kind of fights though. Cain wouldn't go down so easily. They had to understand him inside and out before going after him. The idiots that had tried to kill Cain with out any background always died quickly. "Not to mention there's a higher chance of survival..." It wasn't like Rory had to worry about that though. On the other hand, Freya did.
"So... We'll be here close to a week, probably." She'd included time that could be lost due to severe weather problems. When he looked at her with that look of his, she almost scowled. "Of course I am!" Was he making fun of her annoyance with the cold again? Sure, she enjoyed be extremely warm, and would be heavily restricted as they climbed, but Rory might need her! "No way in hell am I letting you hike up there alone." She wouldn't let some stupid weather get the better of her out here!

Rory didn't respond as Freya spoke, though he was listening. He narrowed his eyes slightly, thinking deeply about the whole situation. They should probably contact Xavier with the change of events and see if he wanted to proceed, but if the mutants found out he and Freya were here they might dash. Contact with anyone right now was probably a bad idea, which meant that they were basically cut off for now.
Finally, Rory made a movement, nodding his head before turning to Freya again. "Aye, a week sounds about right. Maybe more, maybe less... And we'll probably be without any contact the whole time." He said with a shake of his head, he didn't like that, too many things could go wrong without any sort of contact.
When she suddenly spoke up loudly, it almost made Rory jump slightly. He hadn't expected her to take such a simple question so personal, he quickly shook his head, "No, you misunderstood me lass... I'm not trying to insult you." He knew he had to explain what he meant, but it was going to be hard for him, "It's just that this information is old. There could be no one up there, or the situation could be far worse than we could guess... Or it could be a trap... And ff it's bad then if I'm killed it's no problem... But if ye got hurt."
He paused for a moment, not sure what to say, "I just want ye to be safe, and know what we're walking in to before you really agree to go." It was hard to express verbally how much he cared about her, he wasn't the type of guy that could do that. Though he was doing the best he could to explain his feelings, but was obviously trying to make it sound like he was just being practical too.

No contact the entire time? It almost made her smile a little. Poor Tari. She was going to be worried sick, but unable to do anything about it. Not to mention it would also mean it really would just be the two of them the entire time. "So we'll just have to be careful..." Her thoughts had wandered to the same conclusion. They'd have to be careful of what happened. If they got in trouble, no one would be able to come rescue them. Any mistake, and it could be Game over.
Freya sighed, not meaning to sound so annoyed with her response. "Sorry..." Why did she have to get annoyed with him over him just caring about her safety? "I know. But... I can't let you go up alone. If there really is nothing there, then there's nothing to be worried about, but if there is a trap or something..." She looked down, not wanting to finish her words. "You may not have to worry about staying dead, but I... I don't ever want to have to go through it again." She could still remember, in vivid detail Rory's first death around her. It had torn her to pieces on the inside. And now, when they were this close, the images only made it harder to bear. Every time he died, she'd have to go through that all over again...

Rory nodded in agreement. They would have to be careful, though Freya would have to be far more careful than Rory. After all, is she died it would be game over forever. If Rory died it wasn't really game over, more like, he was simply waiting to respawn and get back into the game. The thought made Rory chuckle a little, the fact that his power was a lot like respawing in a video game. Except when you died in a video game it didn't hurt.
As Freya began to apologize Rory got quiet, listening to her intently, and letting her completely finish before speaking. Apparently they both cared far too much about each other to let one another do this alone. He slid closer to Freya and put an arm around, "Don't apologize..." He kissed her softly on her forehead, "We'll just do this together... And neither of us will get hurt, I promise." Rory meant it to, he wasn't going to let anything happen to Freya, and for her sake, he would try to be a bit more cautious himself.

Freya didn't look up. Remembering that event had made her mood plummet again. Even his arm around her and kiss on her forehead didn't do much to improve it again. She just leaned into his embrace, just wanting to be held for the moment. "I'll hold you to that..." Neither of them would get hurt. She just had to keep telling herself that.
She knew Rory could be just as reckless, and sometimes more, then she was, if only because of his lack of fear of death. But, he had to realize something. Each time he died, Freya would have to go through the emotions until he came back. Having to go through the person you loved dying once was heartbreaking. But multiple times? The idea alone was terrifying.

While his arm was draped around Freya, he continued to watch her. He noticed that she wouldn't look up at him, and that in general she seemed to have lost her cheer that she had a few moments earlier. This time though, her mood wasn't caused by the weather, but obviously by Rory, and that upset him.
He wrapped his other arm around her and pulled her into a hug, "I've never broken a promise before... I won't now., lass" He said, squeezing her a bit tighter in the hug. Of course, he was lying. He would break the promise if only for one reason, it involved saving Freya. The safety of her was above the safety of himself.

Freya curled up in his embrace, trying to get over the dark cloud in her mind. Sadly, it didn't seem to want to go anywhere. But, his words were reassuring. See? He wouldn't break his promise! She shouldn't worry about it any more. She should just forget about the morbid subject. Thankfully? It was hard staying gloomy when Rory was with her. Give her a few minutes and the cloud would be gone.... Hopefully...
"Good..." A few moments passed, before she finally sighed, shifting a little so she could look at him at last. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to worry you..." He'd probably tell her not to apologize for something like this, but force of habit made her. That, or he'd come up with something witty to try and make her laugh. God, how she needed a good laugh right now...

As she curled up somewhat in his arms, he positioned them so that the fully wrapped around her. This time, however, he wasn't holding her to be sensual as he usually did. He was trying to comfort her as much as he possibly could. He didn't like it when Freya was upset like this, truly upset. It made him feel bad as well. He was new at doing this though, comforting people. He had never cared enough about a person to do it before, but Freya was so much more than everyone else.
When she did finally look up at him he gave her a kind smile. Softly, and tenderly giving her a brief kiss. "So... Ye feel bad for worrying me..." He paused slightly, "But ye have no problem watchin' me get beaten to a pulp?" He asked with a raised brow and a smirk, teasing her slightly. "Aye! Ye confuse me like nothing else, lass." Though he was trying to make a joke to cheer her up, he was also telling the truth in the last comment.

It was rare for Freya to get upset like that, usually it was just quick snippets of depression or anger that were easily cured by Rory's presence. These were the times she needed more then a distraction from it all. Sure, Rory always seemed unsure of what exactly to do to comfort her at these times, but what he did do was all she needed. Him just being there comforted her.
She smiled softly when he briefly kissed her, already starting to feel a little better. When he joked of her prank earlier, she laughed. "You being confused means I'm doing my job right." To other people, it might not have been that funny. To her, it meant the world to her that he was trying to cheer her up.
Another few moments passed, before realization struck. What time was it? Didn't they have to hike a mountain tomorrow?! "We're both going to die of exhaustion tomorrow if we don't get some sleep, you know." That would probably be a new death for Rory, or so she thought. He hadn't exactly named off all the ways he had died.

It still surprised Rory every now and then just what he did for Freya that he wouldn't, or never had, done for anyone else. Such as sitting here with his arms around Freya, doing his best to help comfort her. Anyone else and he would have just told them to suck it up. Not even that, but times like at the Danger Room when she intentionally distracted him, or at the bank when she had slapped him. Anyone else and he would have been furious, if he didn't attack them outright. However, with Freya he just didn't care.
"Really?" He looked down at Freya, "...Have you thought about getting a different job?" He asked with a smirk. As much as he loved Freya and generally loved anything she did, he didn't like being confused. Mystery was fun, confusion was not, and yet Freya did seem to love making him confused.
What she said next snapped him back to reality though. She was completely right, he had completely lost track of time kissing her, then with everything else that happened... Not to mention it was already late when they got to the Inn, "Aye, I suppose yer right." He let his arms slide off her, and pushed himself to his feet. Then held out a hand to help her up off the ground as well.

Rory's semi jokes were working, slowly lifting her spirit again. "Nah. I like this one to much." After all, wasn't it everyone's job to confuse and torment their significant other? "Besides, you do the same thing." Especially when he started adding unfamiliar Irish or Celtic words. She smiled softly, leaning forward to softly kiss him once more, if only as a reassurance.
She had to admit, she was a little disappointed when they had to come to terms with 'ending' things for the evening. With the days events, and tomorrows plans, they most certainly needed the rest. Still... if they could have, she probably would have stayed in his arms all night. When he was up and offering a hand down to her, she sighed, accepting the offer and pulling herself to her feet.
Standing, she just realized how exhausted she was. With another sigh, she didn't even bother going into the small bathroom to get ready for bed, she just lay down on one of the beds.

Rory laughed softly, and shook his head slightly. "Yeah, I think ye like it a little too much." He said with a grin. Confusing and tormenting the one you loved was probably just confined to Rory and Freya, but then, Rory never really had been in a relationship like this so he didn't know. It definitely kept things exciting, so even though he complained about it, he did like it to a certain extent. "I have no idea what you're talking about, me a mo chroi." He said with a wink.
Despite wanting to stay up later with Freya, he had to admit, he was fairly tired too. Though his body was conditioned to an extreme level, and that wasn't counting the fact that his body's capabilities were already as perfect as they could be, it didn't mean he didn't like or want sleep. He laughed a little when Freya just crashed onto one of the beds. Rory quickly followed suit, not bothering to even take off his clothes, and crashed onto the other bed. In only a few moments he was out.

__________________________________________ ((Lining it cause rping them sleeping would be boring )) Come morning, Freya's eyes slowly fluttered open. When had she fallen asleep? Well, she must have just passed out right after crashing on one of the beds, because she couldn't recall anything after that. Stifling a yawn, she saw up, running her fingers through her hair. It was probably nearing 8 am by now, which meant their journey up the mountain would be starting in only a few hours. The first thing she noticed as she came to her senses was Rory still sleeping. She smiled at his slumbering form, wanting to go over and touch him. She stopped herself though. He needed his sleep, after all! So, as quietly as she could, she slipped off the bed, tiptoeing to her backpack and rummaging through it for a change of clothes, and a few other personal hygiene items. First on her agenda today was taking a shower. Locked in the bathroom she started to get ready for the day, taking a quick shower, changing into the fresh clothes, and brushing her teeth. By the time she left the bathroom it was nearing 8:30, and she was starting to wonder just how deep of a sleeper Rory was...

Generally, Rory wouldn't wake up except for one of two reasons. Either he wanted to wake up, or something woke up him. He was actually a very light sleeper most of the time, being a deep sleeper in his former profession could kill you. However, as he had mentioned before, he valued his sleep. He was deep in sleep until he heard a movement behind him and his eyes shot open, listening for a moment longer he realized it was just Freya getting off the bad. So for now, he let his eyes slide closed again, but never really fell back asleep.
The sound of a shower turning on reminded him that he probably needed to take one too. He still had a bit of blood on him from yesterday and he had never gotten to shower after his training session. More importantly though, his mind began to wonder about today's plan, and just how far they would be able to get up the mountain today, and whether or not the mutants were waiting for them.
Rory was half-asleep again when the sound of Freya leaving the bathroom fully woke him up. Glancing up from the bed he waited until there was a moment when Freya's back was to him. Then, quieter than a mouse he slipped out of bed. As he walked by her back toward the bathroom, he whispered, "Top o' the morning." Then gave her a slight, playful pinch on her backside before slipping into the bathroom, hoping that he had scared her a little. In seconds he was stripped and in the shower, though he never locked the door, it wasn't like Freya didn't know he was in here.
