Anya straightened her jean jacket and slipped her hookswords out of her belt with ease. She gripped them loosely in his hands out in front of her. She was only practicing because she was bored. She'd already mastered her hookswords, and there was nothing she could fight with when it came to her real mutant abilities.
"Now," she said. Up in the control room, someone hit the start button. She'd told him to set it on the highest setting she'd ever tried. Last time, it almost knocked her out. And since she was only doing this for fun, her friends would call it too dangerous. Anya just called it challenging.
Huge, human-shaped metal drones came out of the walls with weapons. Mostly swords or guns. The ones with swords came flying at her with amazing speed. Once they got close enough she'd wrapped her hooksword around their straight sword, and pulled them down to the floor. She barely managed to dodge the bullets and swordfight at the same time, but she managed.
Anya kept fighting, but the metal soldiers kept coming. Once she made it passed all the swordfighters, she moved on to the gunmen, which were easier to take out because they would eventually run out of bullets. She knocked the head off last drone with her hooksword. Then her body hit the wall, using it for support, and sighed in relief that it was over.

Braxton was walking down the halls, silently as usual. He was heading for Anya's room, supposing that she still had the same room as she had last time he was there. He passed by the Danger Room and stopped to watch as little Anya fought drones like a pro.
He leaned against the doorpost, just watching is amazement as she knocked the head off the last drone. She glanced over the drones on the floor, counting them, and smiled. She still hadn't seen him.
"You know," he said, watching her spin around in surprise at his voice. "You just destroyed forty drones. That's kind of amazing."

She clicked her hookswords back into their handles and reattached them to her belt. She sighed and tried to catch her breath, but knew it would take a few minutes. She'd never done so well in the Danger Room before. She even impressed herself this time.
Then she heard a familiar voice that she recognized anywhere and spun around on her heels. She was still out of breath but she ran toward him and hugged him, although he towered her.
"Braxton!" she looked up at him, a huge smile on her face. "Where have you been? I feel like I haven't seen you in ages!"

He smiled as she ran towards him. It was true, they hadn't seen each other in a long time. He picked her up and spun her around, hugging her tightly.
"I know, I'm sorry I haven't come to see you more," he ran his hand through her hair. "But I'm serious. For someone who's powers have nothing to do with anything even remotely related to this, you're mindblowing."

She laughed as he picked her up and spun her around. He always did that but she never got tired of it. But she rolled her eyes once he put her down and called her mindblowing. She wasn't that good at swordfighting. Just because she knocked off the heads of forty little metal drones doesn't mean anything. It just means that she's good at it, but she didn't consider it mindblowing anyway.
"Sure, whatever. It's nothing special. Don't argue," she knew her brother always wanted to attack her with compliments, but she couldn't stand it. "Now, what do you want to do before you vanish for months again?"
She gave him a grim look, but still had a small smile. He did leave for long periods and she hated it, so at least she had something to pick on him about. He sure picked on her enough.
