Mary was sitting against a tree, looking towards where the horses were grazing. She was trying to draw it, but those horses kept moving, so she started with the background. She wore a light zip up jacket, zipped half way up. She had plain jeans on with normal tennis shoes on. She had a maroon shirt under the jacket. Her knees were up so she could prop her sketch book up on her lets.
She would look up and admire the scenery for a minute or so, then look down and work on sketching it. Once she looked up again she would move her bangs from her face and repeat the same actions. She loved to sit in quiet places, no bullies or people to poke fun at her. She found the stables to be a great place to draw. There was always something interesting for her to draw. New horses were always out and she loved to draw them, but she would never go up too close.
Stories of an Asian boy who was possessive of his horse found her ear quickly, since she was there lots. She had never notice him, because she was never paying attention to the people passing, unless she had to move to look past them.

Gisli had been back at the school a few days now, finally settled in and back to her old schedule. Things were different, that much was obvious. There seemed to be… Well a lot more tension between the students then before. Not to mention a few people were preaching that everyone capable ought to go fight this War. It was a stupid idea, even Gisli knew that. Most the students couldn’t even fully control their powers! Yeah, great idea, send the… well students to fight the master’s battle! They’d get slaughtered!
Thankfully some things were still the same. The teachers were just as friendly as they’d been before, there were still some carefree students about.
The days were getting colder as winter approached. Gisli didn’t mind the cold too much. She’d moved a lot before coming to the school, most the places on the Northern border, right next to Canada. It was still cold enough that she wore long jeans and a light jacket though.
She’d left the mass of red that she called her hair to its own devices, the natural curl giving her hair a small spring. She hadn’t bothered with any make up other than some mascara, if only because red heads needed a little so they didn’t look completely washed out!
Gisli found herself heading in the direction of the stables, not on purpose though. A book was open in her hands, her attention more focused on reading its contents then pay attention to where she was going… At least, that was until she tricked over something.
Girl and book went sprawling on the grass, a look a shock on her face. Quickly she rolled over to see what had tripped her…. Only to see a girl with a sketch pad and pencil. “Oh, I’m sorry!”

*Adeline was looking down lightly sketching when she felt something hit her. Causing the something to fall down. She looked up only to see a girl that she had never seen before. That wasn't surprising considering that she had only been here a little while. Shock was on her face.*
Are you alright. I didn't think I would be in the way if I sat here.
*The girl seemed okay, but she had to make sure. She couldn't afford to make yet another enemy. The sketch was forgotten for the time. She had gotten a few main sketches of the horses that she could finish up later. But that was out of the question now. Even though she was shy she didn't want to seem stuck up to the girl. Adeline prayed that the girl wasn't a bully of any kind. If she was she was done for. Her life here, trying to live under the radar, was over. Even thought many tried to bully her she tried not to seem like an easy target. She ignored most attempts of bullying, but she couldn't help but hate it when she was in the mirror world, only to hear some students performing the "ritual" because they knew that she was there, and could hear them.*

Gisli really hadn’t expected to trip over someone, but it wasn’t like she’d been paying attention to anything but her book! Something bad had been bound to happen sooner or later! At least she didn’t have to spend too much time worrying about what the person might do if she’d tripped over the wrong sort. All she’d have to do is mention Shakaku’s name and they’d back off… Sure that wasn’t the best way to get out of a situation and she’d been… attempting to help Shakaku kick the habit of bullying, but it worked.
“Oh, yeah. Fine. Wasn’t paying attention, sorry. What about you?” She sat up, smiling a little sheepishly as she quickly retrieved her book, flipping through the pages to try and find her spot. When she did, she closed the book on her finger, to hold it for her.
Finally she was able to turn her full attention to the girl. She didn’t recognize her. No shock there. Gisli didn’t recognize most the students. Not just that, but she was an artist, as she could tell from the sketch book. So…. Had she been sketching the horses? Her smile vanished a little.
“Oh… I’m sorry, I didn’t ruin any of them, did I?”

*Adeline was quite glad that the girl was okay. She seemed nice too. Thank goodness.*
I'm fine, not harm done.
*She smiled at the girl, feeling slightly bad that she lost her place, but happy when she seemed to find it again. She loved books almost as much as she loved drawing. If she lost her place she would be quite upset. When the girl spoke a second time Adeline looked down at the drawing to see a fairly dark pencil mark in the middle of the page. She let a sigh escape her.*
Well I wasn't exactly liking how it was turning out anyway.
*She gave a shrug and flipped the page. It was quick and the drawing was light but the girl might be able to see a little of the darker lines, followed with a dark line that would be impossible to fully erase. That was why Adeline had a habit of righting and drawing lightly. She wasn't that picky with her art, but she didn't want the girl to feel bad. She knew that she was her own worst critic so she always went and asked the art teacher for advice. And also relayed on the actually place to compare it to.*

That dark, thick pencil line almost seemed to haunt Gisli. Great. She’d ruined one of the girl’s pictures! Nice work on her part… “Sorry. I should have been watching where I was going.” She really had to kick the habit of walking and reading at the same time. It only lead to accidents, some worse than others. Thankfully it seemed the only casualty today was the drawing she’d ruined.
The girl seemed to take it in stride though, not even seeming to care too much about her ruined drawing, which made Gisli feel a little better about the accident. Sadly, when she saw that it’d ruined the back of the page as well, she felt bad again. Sure, paper wasn’t expensive, but still! Ugh, she was being overly sensitive to the subject. Finally, Gisli bounced back to her feet, but not opening her book yet.
She hesitated. It’d be a little rude to just leave without another word… But what was she supposed to say? Gisli was lacking in social skills! The only people she knew how to interact with were those close to her! Right now… That meant only Shakaku, his squirrel Furai, and a few teachers. God, that was sad. Was she really that much of a loner?

*Adeline smiled at the girl.*
It's fine I have fifty blank sketch books and a hundred filled with drawings. One page isn't going to upset me.
*It was true. When ever Adeline got money she spent most of it on art supplies. That meant making sure that she always had pencils, led, erasers, and of course...paper. She filled up sketch books so quickly with simple sketches, half of them not even finished that her book shelves were filled with almost nothing but sketch books. That and a few of her favorite books. Well she thought it only polite to introduce herself.*
I'm Mary.......I mean Adeline.
*She had been called "Bloody Mary" so much that she actually called her self Mary. She did like that name. But she liked her original name as well.*
I'm sure if I had any friends here they would call me Addy.
*Unfortunately that wasn't the case. She hadn't made any friends at the school, but she had accomplished what she had come here to do. Learn control! That was her main goal and she was reaching it. Every once in a wile she would fall into a mirror, but now she knew how to get out!*

Gisli smiled a little when the stranger basically decided what to do for Gisli. If she hadn’t said anything, GIsli really would have just left, probably never to remember the girl. At least she could put a name to the face, or…. Two names? Now she was a little confused…
“Nice to meet you. I’m Gisli.” She paused for a moment, trying to figure out why the girl had given her two names. “Sorry, but you almost used a different name?” She didn’t like having to deal with this. She didn’t know how to handle it! Curse this anti-social nature of hers. It made it so difficult to try and talk to anyone in a normal fashion.
She blinked at how open the girl, Adeline, was being with a complete stranger. What type of person just told a random person that they didn’t have any friends at the school? “You’re a new student?” IT was just a guess. There were some students at the school that just…. Didn’t get along with anyone. Gisli happened to be one of those people. Still, the anti-social students weren’t this open, so she was leaning towards a new student. She probably just hadn’t had the time to meet to many people.

*Well that was stupid. Adeline had given her two names.*
Kids at the school call me Bloody Mary, I guess it's just making fun of my power. But I do like the name Mary, and sometimes I think that's a better name for myself.
*Adeline looked down at the blank new paper. What should she draw. It would be rather awkward to ask if she could draw a complete stranger. She could work on the scenery but drawing it again seemed like too much. She could always try drawing from a different spot. Maybe she should go and draw the statue in the front of the school. That would be a good idea. When Gisli mentioned asked if she was new Adeline nodded.*
Is it that obvious?
*Most the people who met her were mean or just trying to say that they knew everyone in the school. But it was impossible to be friends with everyone, because of how different they had were. It was just like high school, just with powers and a life on your toes, because you never know what is going to happen next at this place. It was kind of fun, but still kind of strange.*

“Oh.”
That made sense then. Sometimes nicknames could be used just as much as a real name. And in this case, that seemed to be true. Thankfully only a few people were willing to call Gisli by her alias. It wasn’t one she went by though, so she was fine with that.
Adeline seemed deep in thought, probably trying to figure out just what to draw. She still felt pretty bad that she’d ruined her drawing of the horses, which she’d probably still be working on if Gisli hadn’t tripped over her.
Gisli smiled a little at the question.
“A little. You’re too…” She paused for a moment. “Open to have been here a long time and not have friends.” He smile shrunk a little. What was she supposed to do now? Ugh, why was she so bad at this? She didn’t have this many problems talking to Shakaku! Why couldn’t she carry on a normal conversation with another student?
Gisli sighed, running her fingers through her hair, before speaking up again. “How long have you been here?” A short pause. “How do you like it so far?” She knew how hard it was for new students. It seemed that bullying a new person had become an initiation of sort. Everyone went through it, most could handle it, and it only lasted a short time…

*Adeline smiled at Gisli. At least she was honest. She would remember that. She wanted to stay on the down low. She just wanted to gain control of her powers, and in the meantime read and draw in piece.*
Well I've been here a little less than a month
*She thought about weather or not she liked it. The school it's self was really nice. They all had rooms that they could decorate and have how they wanted it. No room mates. There was free food and she got taught how to control her powers. The place it's self was great. But the people, not so great. It was a fairly hard question to answer. Was she meaning the people or the place?*
The place it's self is great, along with the teachers. But the other students.....not so much.
*Like every teenager she just wanted friends and a place that she was comfortable in. She had the second part. But so far there were no friends. She had friends where she lived, now she was feeling bad. She didn't show up to school that day and she just left. Dissappeared. She should try calling them. But what would she say? "Hey guys! Guess what? I'm a mutant and I fell into my mirror that day I didn't come to school!" No. That was just to lame. And she doubted any of them would understand.*
Hey, I know this is random, but do you mind if I draw you?
*Drawing people was one of Adeline's favorites, because each face was different, unlike animals who can be very similar. She was hoping that Gisli would say yes, but would understand if she didn't want to be drawn.*
