The Danger Room. Freya had use to spend a lot of time in here or up on the observation deck... Back when Rory had been at the school. Since he left, she'd tried to avoid the place. Today... Well, she hadn't quite been forced, but it was as close as you could get. You didn't say no to Xavier, after all!
Freya leaned up against one of the walls inside the room, her arms folded and head lowered slight with her eyes closed. Her hair had fallen into her face, hiding most of it from view. If someone where to come in they'd think she was deep in thought, but it was the complete opposite. She was keeping her mind completely blank, knowing that if she let her mind wander she'd remember those times she'd been here with Rory, no students or X-men to disturb them...
Why had Xavier asked her to train the unruly student? She scoffed, able to come up with a few reasons. Pyromancers had a habit of destroying a lot of things when they got mad enough, but not just the inexperienced ones, even seasoned Pyromancers had problems not lashing out when angry. This kid, Shakaku, was nearing a boiling point. He was going to hurt a lot of people if he didn't learn to control himself...
He was late. She'd been told to be here right at the top of the hour and it was at least ten after. She just sighed, shaking her head and keeping her eyes closed. This brat was taking up her time, and wasn't even here...

*Shakaku had heard from Shakaku that the fiery red haired woman would be his mentor. He didn't need a mentor. He was doing fine by himself. He had things to sort out, and after their last encounter he had gone to the lake and thrust heat into it, just to cool down. He was late because he didn't want to be there. And he wasn't even sure that the woman would even be there. Once down in the basement, Shakaku found himself facing the danger room entrance. Dare he enter? Even though he knew that she was probably there, angry that he was late. He knew that she would force him to fight her, so she could gage his level. He wasn't feeling like getting his but handed to him. He turned around and took only one step away. That was when he heard Xaviors voice, telling him to go inside. With a heavy sigh he entered the room, he looked around and his eyes set on the woman.*
I'm here
*He was very reluctant, and obviously was forced into this. He was still distracted with thought of what was going to happen with Gisli...*

It wasn't that Freya was sleeping, but when Shakaku entered, it probably looked like she was just near asleep, leaning up against the wall. She heard him speak, but didn't open her eyes for a few moments, slowly lifting her head to gaze lazily at him. Man, she was in another bored, lazy mood... Bad timing, it seemed. Bad because she seemed to try and end things as quickly as possible when she was like this, and wasn't at all careful. A few more moments passed, before Freya sighed, shrugging off the wall and taking a few steps closer.
"I don't like this anymore then you do." She was start to the point, wasn't she? "But no one wants you going and blowing something up, so let's just get this over with." Her expression was just as bored as before as she unfolded her arms to run her fingers through her hair. This was going to be a boring day... She just knew it.
Freya took a few more steps towards the center of the room, motioning for Shakaku to come over. "Come on. Show me what you can do." How was she supposed to know what to teach him if she didn't know what he was already capable of?

*Shakaku only took a few steps towards the woman He then closed his eyes, raising the temperature in front of her to about three hundred and fifty degrees Fahrenheit. That was about as high as he could go and the area could get bigger, but it put strain on him. The heat dissipeared even faster than it had come. He then pulled out a crumpled unturned in homework assignment that happened to be in his pocket. He then heated up that area with the paper. It soon burst into flames. He then shaped the flames into a Chinese dragon and it started to fly around the room, Shakaku keeping his eyes on the woman.*
There, obviosly not anything like you can do.
*He still sounded detracted and annoyed. With his distraction the fire turned into a girl figure that looked similar to Gisli. Freya wouldn't know that unless she actually knew Gisli though. Shakaku quickly noticed what he had done and looked dialectally to the fire figure and made it dissapear. Crap, now she was going to think that the problems was because of a girl. Then she's going to think that he had a girl friend... witch he didn't!*

The first thing Freya noticed was that he did have at least a little control over his power. But that control was used to show off. That was all he was doing. Showing off. He’d only displayed his powers for a few seconds, and used them to the highest extent he could. That would have to be the first problem she fixed.
She did notice his flames take the shape of a girl. Maybe that was what had him so distracted? Freya sighed, running her fingers over her forehead. “Okay. Whatever it is, you better tell me now. I am not going to have you thinking about something completely off subject.” She planted her hands on her hips, gazing intently at him.
“You should already know this by now, but when you’re upset, worried, angry, or anything else that presents as a strong emotion, you’re going to react in the only way you know how. And that might be fine and dandy if I’m around, but someone that can stop you won’t always be there.”
Freya sighed, shaking her head again and looking him over. “Raise the temperature. And hold it there.” He might not understand what she was up to yet, but it was a little obvious. She wanted to know just how long he could hold that temperature he ‘showed off’. And if she guessed correctly… It wouldn’t be very long.

*Shakaku was surprised when Freya wanted him to tell her. True it was probably just so that he could get to focusing on the training. She probably didn't really care.*
One of my friends came back. We used to be fairly close but now things feel awkward. I'm not sure what to say, and I got her mad.
*He didn't know what else she wanted from him. And that was as much as he was going to tell....at least for now. He did as she said. He raised the temperature to that same mark and held it. Focusing on that. After about a minute he could feel the strain, that was as high as he could go, for now. He held on to it for a nother minute and then it dropped, he couldn't hold it anymore. This was going to be a long day. The danger room was free for now, and that ment that they could stay in it as long as they wanted. Or rather, she wanted. Well at least he was going to get a good nights sleep tonight. He was sure that he would be way to exhausted to stay up late thinking about Gisli.*

Ah. So that was it. It was friend problems, but not the same kind as she’d guessed. But it was a lot simpler then Shakaku seemed to realize. There was one question he hadn’t asked himself. Or… It sounded like it. “She probably thinks you hate her. Especially considering your wonderful people skills.” She paused, smirking a little. “Do you hate her? If you don’t know what you think of her, how is she supposed to know?” She made it sound so easy…
But it was back to the ‘lesson’ again. And like she’d expected he caved after a short time. “Raise it again.” Her arms were folded again as she almost glared at him. “Same temperature. Two minutes.” He’d only lasted that long the first time. Now it was time to see if he could do it again.
Freya paused for a few minutes, walking over to where Shakaku was, grabbing him by the collar and pushing him into the exact center of the room. “Spread it out. The same in all directions. A complete circle with you at the center.” She circled him now, her pace slow and arms folded again, eyes never leaving him. “Before you can learn to do this-“ She paused for only a moment, reaching out and heating the spot Shakuku was on. “You need to learn this.” She stopped heating the area around him, and instead focused on herself, the heat sky rocketing to a degrees even Shakaku had never felt. “It’s more natural to heat yourself up then the air. Use it to your advantage.” She paused in her circling for only a moment to focus that intense stare of hers on him again.
“You should already know this by now, but your power, your fire, comes from inside. It’s easier to heat yourself, and the area around you then it is some other place or person.” She stopped talking, returning to her buzzard like circling.

*Shakaku shook his head. He didn't hate her, it was just awkward. He didn't know what to say. He didn't know what she felt of him. What did she feel for him. She probably hated him. He was rude the last time they met. But he didn't mean for it to come out mean, it just happened.*
*He listened to his 'lesson' carefully. After she had stopped talking Shakaku raised his body temperature, it was much easier and put less of a strain on him. The circle when to about where Freya was circling and he kept it here. He was focusing much harder than he probably should have been, but that showed that he was trying hard....right? He was sure that this was only the beginning of the training. He had to pace himself, so that he could last the entire lesson. He knew that he had to stop thinking about Gisli right now. If he didn't then he wouldn't pace himself like he should. He could learn lots from her, maybe even he would feel more comfortable with Freya after this. Hopefully... eventually they would get close enough to just feel comfortable talking with each other.*

Freya kept circling in her buzzard like way, as if watching a corpse that she was after. No… It was more like a tiger eyeing its latest prey. She did have the feral, intense stare that was completely cat like… Her footsteps were slow and completely silent. She’d learned a few things when Rory had been there, like how to sneak when she wanted to. It was eerie, to say the least.
As she watched, she slowly made the circle smaller and smaller, until she was right behind him…
WHACK!
Freya hit him with such force upside the head it felt like it might give him whiplash. “Relax.” She could see how tense he was, that his mind still hadn’t cleared. “I will hit you everytime you don’t either!” She was dead serious to. She wasn’t the type to threaten and not go through with the threats. That’s probably what made her so scary at times. “Clear your mind. You let it wander, it shows. You think about anything else, and I will know.”
“You get mad, you’ll go wild. Depressed, you burn out. Distracted, it fluctuates. Don’t let the world affect your control.” Freya grabbed him by the collar again, forcibly turning him to face her. “Keep. It. Even. Same Temperature. All around. Not even half a degrees difference no matter what.”
Freya finally let go of him, but didn’t move away.

*Shakaku did his best to ignore Freya's eerie walk. But then he was smacked. His hands instinctively went to the spot where she hit.*
Ouch!
*But he moved his hands back down as he listened to her words. If he was here, he might as well learn something. Being forced around surprised him, but he was sure that he would get used to it by the end of the day. He nodded, telling her that he had understood her words. Once she let go he took a deep breath. Almost meditating. He did it again. This time it was better than before. He could feel the difference. It was easier to control with a calm, almost empty mind. If he tried he could probably go a little bit higher, but this was a test to see how long he could hold it. But because his mind was cleared he couldn't really think of what time it was.*
*With a clear mind the heat seemed natural. This was a valuable thing to know. By this point he was kind of happy that he had gone. Even if he was forced by the professor. Why did that man always get his way?*

Freya just rolled her eyes. Seriously? That couldn't have hurt that much! Sure, she hadn't exactly tapped him, but she'd hit people harder then that before! She almost expected him to lash out with anger when she headslapped him. Apparently not. He took the entire thing in stride... Maybe he wasn't as firey tempered as she'd first thought! If anyone had hit her like that she would have roasted them, just because it was instinct! Perhaps that was something she'd be sure not to teach him.
There was one thing she knew that any teenager would struggle with. Keeping their mind empty. That wasn't just teenagers though. Most people had problems keeping their mind clear for long periods of time. That wasn't exactly what she was trying to teach him though. Yes, she wanted all off topic thoughts gone, but empty entirely?
"Don't worry about the time. Just keep it even." Simply put? He had to keep that up until he couldn't anymore. And most likely, when he collapsed she'd make him get right back up and do it again. "Don't focus so hard, your eyebrows will stick like that." Freya had returned to her predator like stalking, circling right at the edge of his range, able to feel the heat on her stomach, and feel the cold on her back. He might not know what she was doing, but she was waiting for his exhaustion, or mind to wander. The edges wouldn't be affected first.
"Focus only on the things around you. Always be watching the temperature. If you are controlling it, kept it even through and through. Not a fraction of a degrees difference. Keep an eye on any other heat signatures. My body temperature. Other people's. Your own." She paused for only a moment. "What is the average human body temperature?" Another short pause. "How hot can it get before humans died?" She didn't know if he'd be able to answer or not, or if he'd know why she was asking these questions. When she explained her reasoning, he'd understand.

*Shakaku kept the temperature even for a few minutes. After he let it up he thought about the questions. He calmed his expression and turned it neutral.*
Um...about ninety-eight point six degrees Fahrenheit. But it's different for different people.
*He thought about the other question. He wasn't sure, when it got to hot his friend would tell him to lower it. He didn't know how hot it was. Shakaku repeated the sequence and heated a circle around him and kept it there. It happened to be hotter than the first few times. He was getting tired from exerting himself.*
*Shakaku was determined to improve and learn. Just as long as he was here he might as well try. If he didn't he was sure that Freya would 'punish' him some how... That didn't matter right now. She was strong and had lots to teach him. If he learned from her, maybe he could solve more of his problems, and have more control. Maybe with learning these things he could read people easier, and even figure out how he felt about Gisli. But he couldn't think of that now. He couldnt' get distracted now. He took his mind back to his training, he had to focus.*

Freya was back at his side the moment he dropped the temperature. “Again. Do it again.” Her arms were folded, but the look on her face made it clear she wanted to headslap him again. She stopped herself from the act, if only because she didn’t want to resort to that being the only punishment she gave.
“Not about 98.6. On average 98.6. It doesn’t vary between people. The only time it varies is under certain circumstances. When a person has been exercising, or spent a long time out on a cold day. When they are sick. When their power affects their temperature.” She paused for only a moment. “The only thing that will vary about the temperature is where on the body you are watching.” She grabbed his arm, forcing him close and put a finger on his lips. “A person’s mouth, for example, will on average be just under a hundred degrees, 99.9.” She moved her finger, pinching one of his ears. “Inside the ear, 99 degrees.”She lifted his arm and poked under it. “Under the arm, 99 degrees.” She finally released him.
“Should I continue or do you get the picture? Because believe me, I can make this very embarrassing if I go on.” She smirked. It was doubtful what she meant, unless he started to study up on what she was pointing out. When he did…. He’d be very glad she stopped when she did.
Freya took a step back and sighed, shaking her head. “It will depend on the situation if a person can survive. Humidity, clothing, and so on. But on average, a person won’t be able to survive long in temperatures higher than 130 degrees, Fahrenheit of course. You must always be careful. If you don’t want to hurt someone, always be watching the temperature. Never let it higher than 120.”
She almost froze when she noticed the increase in temperature, quickly returning to Shakaku and headslapping him just as hard as before. “The same temperature. This isn’t about showing off, and seeing how long you can hold the highest temperature. It’s learning to hold it at any temperature.”

*Shakaku allowed Freya to poke him and pull him but he shook his head when she asked to go further. He knew what she was talking about. He also understood her point. He didn't react as much as he did the last time. He just took it. He nodded and listened, lowering the heat back to three hundred and fifty degrees. It stayed there much longer than before. It wasn't that he was just pushing harder he was also improving, along with getting tired. It was getting tired, but he wouldn't let that get to him. He was going to get the most out of this lesson that he possibly could.*
*What she was saying with the heat, was that if any other mutant walked into this room right now....they wouldn't be....be living anymore. They would probably get burned badly as well. Shakaku could feel the sweat coming and dripping down his body. It was kind of hot. It was like a warm spring day. But the room grew hotter by the minute. Even though the area around him, in a perfect circle, was staying the same temperature. He wondered how long this session would last. Three hours, four, five?*

Freya had to admit that Shakaku was taking her tormenting and beatings much better then she’d first anticipated. Well, that wasn’t what she wanted! She wanted him to get mad! She wanted him to lash out at her. All so she could get complete control, so he would know who was in charge. And maybe just to show him what he might be capable of if he really listened to what she said. And she meant more than just listening as if this were a class. To really listen.
She could already see him figuring things out. Finding ways to do the same thing with less energy. Good. His time was increasing. It was coming more natural to him. The bad part? He’d only think of it was a good thing. He probably wouldn’t even realize the consequences. Even worse… He wasn’t even saying anything! That irritated her! “You can multitask, can’t you? Talk and use your power at the same time? If you can’t… You’re farther behind then I thought.” He probably wouldn’t realize that she was just pushing his buttons, trying to anger him. Why? Because she always acted like this, he wouldn’t know any better.
Suddenly, Freya noticed that he was sweating. Great. He had it so high it was even affecting him! Thankfully Freya wasn’t affected by heat, at all. Cold weather was a different story… She was much more prone to freezing to death then burning after all! “Stop.” She sighed, running her fingers through her hair, before sitting on the ground, legs crossed Indian style. “Take a break, and let’s have a little chat.” Whatever the chat was about... Well no one knew.
