*Shakaku was pretty sure that she hadn't tried some of the food, he would get some and ask if she'd tried it. If not, then he would have her try them. He thought American food was to sweet most the time, and preferred the more mild, and healthier snacks from his home country. Once off school grounds Shakaku seemed to notice Gisli's presence more. Less kids would see him and the likely hood of someone telling, and being believed that Shakaku actually was hanging out with a shy quiet and almost anti social girl, would be slim to none. The store wasn't to far from the school, but it was a fair distance. Shakaku walked in to the store, holding the door for Gisli.*
Konnichiwa Oai-deki-te ureshii-desu *The woman at the counter smiled at Shakaku, he was a regular costumer. She saw him a lot but she had never seen him with some one.* It's not every day you bring girl to store.
*Shakaku nodded and walked to some items on shelves. He pulled up some Poke and looked at Gisli.* Have you ever tried this? *He wasn't sure what she would say, and was going to get it anyway.*

Gisli and Shakaku didn't talk that much during the walk to the store. There wasn't all that much to talk about, after all! But the silence was comfortable, so neither had to worry about things getting to awkward. Still, it was a little strange in her mind that he was taking her out to a store she'd never even heard of. Why? It was hard to explain. It was just... weird. Maybe because their friendship before now hadn't been one to go out in public. Shakaku had his image to think about after all...
The farther from the school they got, the more relaxed Shakaku seemed to get. Probably from his image, like she'd been thinking. He didn't want people knowing about his friendship with her... Which actually hurt! It was almost like he was embarrassed...
Gisli just put on a small smile, pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind. She slipped inside the store when he opened the door, not wanting to have him wait for her and probably get irritated. That was the thing with Shakaku, you never knew what might irritate him. What irritated her though... Was the fact she couldn't understand the language. Why was it irritating her? She just sighed, pushing the feelings back as well as everything else that had been on her mind during the walk.
Shakaku was already going off in another direction, Gisli quickly moving to catch up as his eyes scanned the rows. When he finally picked something up and looked at her, both her eyebrows raised and she shook her head. "Not that I know it."

*Shakaku smiled at Gisli. She was kind of cute, even though she looked confused, and slightly irritated. Hopefully he would be able to get her to try something that she would end up loving. So Shakaku grabbed a few more of his favorite treats, multiple boxes of each. He then also grabbed a box of sushi from the frozen section and headed towards the cashier area. Once ther he set the things down on the counter. He looked back at Gisli.*
I'll let you try some of them if you want.
*He wasn't sure if she would want to, but it was worth a shot. The woman seemed to ignore the small conversation that Gisli and Shakaku were having. Once she finished ringing up all the items his items she told him the price and Shakaku handed her the money. She, in turn, after checking that all the money was there, handed him the bag with the goodies and sushi in it. He took the bag and looked at Gisli one more time.*
Lets go walking.
*He then left the store, by her side. Looking over to Gisli.* Stawberry or chocolate? Dewa mata *The lady said as they headed out the door.*

Even though she was confused and annoyed by the language barrier, she tried to keep the emotions at bay. Like most people her age, to strong of an emotion could lead to some accidents. Now, Gisli having accidents might not seem as bad as Shakaku's, but that was probably because she rarely had them, so no one knew what might happen in that kind of a situation. She just smiled a little as Shakaku went on to pull other sweets, some with English names, some with out. He'd even grabbed a box of sushi for who knew what reason! There was more then enough back at the school, as is.
"Maybe." She didn't know why she couldn't just say 'okay', maybe she was still just a little wary of trying foreign foods. After all, a lot of people talked about other cultures eating some pretty bizarre things! She didn't want to go eating something and not knowing exactly what it was before hand.
Gisli didn't pay the woman ringing Shakaku up any attention, her gaze wandering a little more. It was a strange store, with a lot of Asian characters everywhere. What language they were... It must be a mix of all the Asian countries because some of them didn't match up at all. Finally though Shakaku was moving to go and she quickly followed, not wanting to fall behind. "Strawberry or chocolate what?"

*Shakaku smiled at Gisli's question. He understood, not lots of people would try a strange food without knowing that it wasn't something gorse.*
Poke, It's a cookie like stick with chocolate on it, or strawberry. The strawberry has small strawberry bits in it. It's quite good, but nothing like your american candies. It's not as sweet. *He didn't like most the candy that america made. It was way to sugary for his taste.*
*Shakaku somewhat led Gisli towards a park, where they could just relax, but if she wanted they could head back. He would understand, seeing as how awkward things felt right now. He would understand if Gisli didn't want to see him for a while. What did he feel for her? Was it the same as a while ago? Why was things so awkward? These questions made him mad. Angry that he couldn't answer them, or even figure at least one out. Was Gisli going though the same thoughts right now? Or was she thinking something else? It wasn't like he would ever know. He wasn't a physic and didn't read people very well. He wasn't very good to talk to either, he was more action then listen.*

“Oh.” Gisli looked deep in thought, as if trying to decide between the two. Which would be better? Chocolate or strawberry? “Either, or.” She didn’t have much of a preference. Like most girls she liked chocolate, but strawberries were pretty good too.
It was nice, to be able to spend time with Shakaku away from the school. Away from where he had to keep a certain ‘image’ about himself. Or… Was she just imagining it? Was there really a difference? Shakaku had led them to a park, the two wandering the paths in a somewhat comfortable, and awkward at the same time, silence. It was a nice day, especially to be out like this. It would have been even better if the two didn’t seem to have that awkward air about them…
A few moments of silence followed, Gisli watching the trail with a daydream like look. Finally she sighed, her gaze lifting and finally focusing on Shakaku. She slowed her steps a little, the expression on her face strange, as if trying to word something that she wasn’t all that sure about. After all, how was she supposed to ask? Without angering him…
“Are you… embarrassed of me?” Was that why he’d been acting so weird around her since she got back? “Around the school I mean. You have an image to keep after all… Being friends with me doesn’t exactly fit it…”

*When Gisli said she didn't mind either one, Shakaku pulled out a box of strawberry pocky. He opened the box and opened the bag. He handed her the first then pulled out a second and put it in his mouth. He didn't know what to say. He was glad that she was back and all...but it just didn't seem right for some reason. Something was wrong, or missing.*
*When Gisli finaly slowed down, Shakaku looked back at her, almost stopping. What was she thinking? Then those words came out of her mouth. He was dumbfounded. What was he supposed to say. What could he say. Was he? Or was he not? Why did he feel like he could be himself with her, only when they weren't around the other students. Was his image really that important? To ignore a friend?*
I'm not embarrassed by you...
*What could he say. He didn't even knows what to say. Thoughts raced through his head. His thoughts were confusing himself. Partially because half were american and half Japanese, it was hard to keep up. What could he say. She would just get mad if he didn't answer her any more, but if he said that he didn't know then how would she react?*

If she had to explain the ‘pocky’ he gave her, she would have called it more of a biscuit, not really a cookie. She held it for only a few moments before munching down on it. She only got one bite before that awkward silence after her question. She didn’t want to know the answer, even if she had asked it. Or… She sort of didn’t want to know the answer. It was more like she was scared to hear it.
Gisli shouldn’t be reacting like this! She knew that! Why was she scared? What did she have to fear? But... What might his response be? Would he give one at all?
When she finally heard his ‘somewhat’ answer, it should have reassured her at least a little. It didn’t…. “That’s not really reassuring, you know.” She sighed, her gaze tearing away from Shakaku to stare blankly off at the park.
She wasn’t sure what she was feeling or thinking. She knew she was putting him on the spot, and it was probably making this awkward air between them worse but… For some reason she wanted to know. She wanted know whether or not his reputation really was the most important thing to him.

*Shakaku didn't know what to say. His reputation should place second to friends. But he couldn't bring himself to respond. He stared at Gisli in silence for a few minutes. What did he feel towards here? That was the biggest question. Another was, what did she feel towards him? After minutes of awkward silence. Shakaku knew that he had to brake it. He knew that if they just went on like this then it would never be broken. Shakaku tore his gaze from Gisli and turned to face the opposite way. He stopped walking completely.*
We should get back to the mansion.
*He spoke fairly quiet. His head was low and he placed another stick of pocky in his mouth. Once that was gone, and the two were almost out of the park Shakaku spoke again.*
I'm not sure what to say, how to answer you. I guess I just need time. I need to figure this out.
*He paused, he hated to say this, because it sounded more like he was telling her to leave him alone for ever, until he found out this problem. He didn't want that. But he had to figure this out. But thinking about it so much might get him angry, then it became hard for him to control his power. He couldn't have Gisli around when that happened.*
I'll let you know when I find out.

That wasn’t what she was expecting. That dead silence followed only by him changing the subject. She didn’t like it. Not one bit. In fact, it was upsetting. Not enough to cause her to lose control of her power yet, but enough that it was obviously written on her face. She didn’t fight it though, slowly falling into step behind him as they made their way out of the park. The silence between them grew darker by the second…
When he finally spoke up again Gisli’s eyes went wide, her gaze finally returning to stare at him in shock. Had he really just said that?! She knew he had a harsh way of communicating, but that bad? Had he meant it that way..?
“Yeah. Tell me when you know…” Her voice gave away her obvious distress. Without a doubt, this was the most upset Shakaku had ever seen Gisli. She turned away, leaving his side and slowly starting to head back to the school without him. Really… Things had changed. For the worst it seemed. It hurt. More then anything had hurt before now. But... Why? Why was she hurting like this?!

*Shakaku let Gisli walk past him. Why did he genunly feel bad about the way she spoke. Generally he got a kick out of making students feel bad, but now...with her. He felt bad...it was weird. He wasn't used to this. He wanted to run after her and stop her. But what would he say? He wasn't going to do that. It wasn't like him to feel this way. He could feel himself getting agrevated by this so he turned a corner. He was still heading towards the mansion but he would go into the forest. He would enter thought that way. Then he didn't have to chance running into anyone who would want to talk to him. He could feel the heat slipping from his control. Luckily Shakaku held it until he was inside the forest. Then he just let it out.*
*What was he going to do? How could he solve this. He couldn't go to Kaito, he would probably just laugh at him. That wouldn't help him at all. What he really needed was someone who he could talk to who wouldn't laugh or anything. Someone who understood him...*
