Lorleina walked gingerly back to her wagon. Her side was burning fiercely from the burn she had received from her fire stunt in her act. The crowd had loved it but little did they know that she had been burnt pretty badly. Her aunt had given her a burn cream to put on it after she had looked at it but it still hurt. She said that it would take a little bit to kick in and sooth the pain but Lorleina wanted it to be gone. She knew Victoria was upset with her on ruining her new outfit that had been specially made for this stunt. It had not been completed yet and that was why she had been burnt. That and her hand had slipped from the bar which was also a first and her cousin who was controlling the flames had been distracted.
The young woman walked up the steps to her door and walked in standing in the middle of the small area and just took a few breaths. Her hands were shaking as she started to peel her top away from the burn wincing a few times as she moved. It was covered in gauze but it still hurt. She had yet to even look at how bad the damage was. She thought of Rowan and how she had to face him as well soon. She knew her husband would be upset with her but she felt like she needed this right now. She needed something daring to get her mind off of everything that was going on between them. She moved her body a certain way and pain shot through her side. She grabbed onto her dresser for support.
"Damnit."

Rowan was furious...for more than one reason. He already decked the male cousin that helped with it and gave his second reason for not doing a stunt like that. What if the whole tent went up in flames? The circus would have been ruined...and obviously with the man's attention diverted it caused problems. Rowan knew the smell of burnt flesh no matter how Lorleina would have attempted to hide the injury from him.
His next stop was to find Lorleina and when he saw the light on in her trailer and went straight for it. He opened the door and stormed right on in. And he didn't give her a chance to talk before he moved with a powerful speed and pinned her to a wall with his hand firmly around her neck. There was no intent to hurt her but definitely keep her in that spot until he was done 'talking' to her.
"What kind of stunt was that?!" He growled at her much like a large cat would while he had her pinned to that wall. At the moment he couldn't have cared who saw him storm into her trailer without so much as a knock. "Did you want to set the whole circus on fire? Or are you trying to get yourself killed?" His eyes were practically glowing with his fury as well as having changed into a more feline look. It was taking all of his control, while yelling at her, not to shift.

Lorleina was reaching towards her dresser that held a wash basin. Her hand was curled around the wet rag she was going to use to clean the burn on her side when her door flew open and in stormed Rowan. She could feel his anger in the room once he entered. She didn't even have to look at his face to know how angry he was at her. She didn't even have time to turn towards him or even take a breath before his hand was around her neck and her back hit the wall. He started yelling at her as she tried to get her breathe back. From the impact of the wall her side was on fire as she reached up to grip his wrist.
"Rowan....you're hurting me..."
Her eyes looked into his as she saw the animal there. She could see that he was fighting it. He was fighting to remain human right now. But she wouldn't change what had happened. Maybe the being injured part but she knew she would just do the stunt again if she was given the chance. Seeing Rowan now she knew she would never get that chance though. She tried to pull his hand from her neck as her side burnt more but she couldn't. Not with his strength. Her hands slipped to rest on his chest as she looked at him.
"It was my fault that I got hurt. The tent wouldn't have gone up in flames. I did the stunt too soon. The costume wasn't finished yet. I should have waited and perfected it more....but I'm not sorry. Please let go, Rowan. You're really hurting me..."

He stared at her for a long moment before he sneered at her and let her go. She deserved to be in that pain for the stupid thing she did. He wanted to rant and rave but what was the point? She just said she wasn't sorry. So she did have a death wish? And how did she know that the flames wouldn't have traveled? Fire was an untamed beast...even the ones that could control it had a hard time. Rowan was tense, his muscles were tight and could easily be seen as he walked away from her. If he stayed close to her for any longer he may not have been in control of his own actions. His back was towards her while he closed his eyes and tried to soothe the beast inside of him.
Eventually he turned around but his eyes were still betraying his mood as he raised a finger to point towards her. "You will not do that again. And if you do..." He lingered for a moment trying to think of a good consequence, "I will not be responsible for my actions." Okay so that wasn't the best threat in the world but a pissed off Rowan wasn't anything to sneeze at. And of course he cared about her and didn't want her hurt...especially from something so stupid.

the young woman rubbed her neck where he had been holding her as he let go. She watched him step away from her and turn his back. It hurt her to know that he couldn't even look at her right now. She had been stupid she knew that but she knew she would do it again if she ever could. They were always telling them to spice up their acts and get the crowds interested. Well this had gotten them interested hadn't it? The crowd had cheered for her and it had been exhilarating. She walked over to her bed and sat down on the edge of it.
"I'm not sorry that I did it...but I am sorry that I upset you. I didn't mean to. Nothing was supposed to go wrong."
She watched her husband as his muscles tensed. She could still feel the anger radiating off of him and it made her recoil a bit. She knew how mad he could get and she knew not to make it worse right now. She leaned over and grabbed the towel she had dropped and rinsed it off. She gently pulled away the gauze on her side wincing a little as it stuck to her flesh. She gingerly dabbed at the wound clenching her teeth. It really had been a bad idea to do this. Then his words reached her and she looked at him.
"Are you threatening me, Rowan? I am your wife! Not another one of your employees! I'm not like the other women who obey without question!"
Now she was angry as she looked at him. How could he threaten her like that? Didn't he know by now that all he had to do was ask her not to do it? He should know her better by now. After everything they had been through and everything they were still going through. She stood up and stared at her. Her short tanktop showing off her newly burned side.

Another sneer came upon his face as she stood up to him. "And as my wife you should listen to me!" He even growled then. It was a male dominated circus after all, no matter how many oddly spirited woman they had. Well certainly the women got their ways more often than not but he wasn't going to stand there and let her get hurt when she could not do the stupid thing in the first place.
His eyes diverted to that wound of hers. And part of him wanted to tend to it for her...help her and hopefully make her feel better. But he was far too furious. Perhaps later he would return to her and tell her that he was sorry for his anger and be gentle with her. But for now that was not possible. And if he stayed where he was he would only end up trashing her trailer...and that wouldn't end well for either of them. Before she could continue to rant to him about things that did not matter to his decision he turned again and walked out of that trailer. Though he made sure to slam the door behind him...just for good measure.

Lorleina didn't even flinch as she heard him growl at her. She stood her ground and would not back down. She knew him well enough to know that he wouldn't hurt her. Or so she hoped. She did know that he had a breaking point like everyone else. But he should know her by now and know that she wasn't one to submit so willingly. She loved him more than anything but she wouldn't let him control her life like some of the other women in their family. She technically shouldn't even be a part of this family. She had been adopted after all.
"Rowan!"
She watched him walk away from her and slam the door. She called out to him to come back but she knew deep down inside that he wouldn't listen. He needed to cool off before he did something stupid. The animal in him was strong and she had seen him lose control before. They had grown up together after all. She sat back down on her bed ignoring the pain in her side and laid her head in her hands as she tried to breathe normally again and push her anger down. She needed to fix this with him. There was no denying that she had hurt him and she felt horrible about it.
After about and hour she walked out of her trailer and wandered the grounds looking for him. She had an idea of where he was. He was probably at the clearing where they had been spending their nights together. But she needed the fresh air. She breathed it in gratefully and then after about another half an hour she made her way to the clearing, stepping through the leaves and vines.
"Ro? Are you here?"

Oddly enough he hadn't been at that clearing. And perhaps he had visited it at some time within that hour but he wasn't there now. Her search would be futile until she would search the compound more.
Rowan sighed as he was still wound up from his fight with Lorleina. The woman could just push him to the edge. But it seemed he was to be tested this day as he leaned upon one of the support poles outside the tents. He saw Miranda coming towards him and while instinctually he thought about running he stayed where he was. Who was he to run anyway? His eyes had returned to normal..not that she didn't know what he was, so her first reaction to him seemed pleasant.
"Hi Rowan. I thought we needed to talk."
Simple enough, she wanted to talk then fine. "What is it that ye want Miranda?" He rarely was nice to her in a close sense so his coldness now wouldn't have seemed out of the ordinary.
"Well I was hoping you'd reconsider the idea of being your assitant." The woman held her hands behind her back in what seemed to be a manner to look cute as well as show off the clevage sticking out of her dress. "I'm definitely pretty enough for it."
Not this again. Rowan sighed and looked at her with leveled eyes. "Ah told ye before...yer head is too big in the ring. Anyway Ah found another girl.." He smirked a little as he saw Miranda's face grow pale.

Lorleina stayed in the clearing for a bit just sitting there against the tree looking around at everything. There were claw marks in the trees from the times when Rowan had been so angry he had come here to vent. There were also notches and carvings in the tree she was sitting at that she had done. She traced some of them with her fingers and let the breeze flow over her and. She wished that he had been here. This usually was the place where they could solve the fights they would have but this fight seemed to be the biggest one they had had so far. Lolo jumped down on her shoulder and made a high pitched purring noise that was typical of a lemur. She reached up and scratched his head then stood up and made her way out of the clearing. She needed to find him.
Walking through the grounds now she looked at everyone who walked past her. She of course said hello but that was all she could really muster at the moment as she walked on. She wasn't looking for them right now. She was looking for her husband. She knew he was somewhere around here. He always was. They all stayed here at the grounds and didn't really venture out to mingle with the people outside. This was home even if it was in a different place every once in awhile. It was all familiar to them and it was what they knew.
It was all that Lorleina knew from the time she had been brought here as a little girl. Rowan had been the first one to talk to her and befriend her. He had been the one to bring her out of her shell and come to terms with the death of her parents. She would forever be grateful to him for that but she wasn't married to him just for that. She loved him with all of her heart and she hated that she had hurt him so bad right now. As she walked she looked up and saw him. He was leaning against a tent post and there in front of him was Miranda, his fiance. Lorleina hated that woman. She was the reason why they couldn't tell his parents about there relationship. It had been a big act of courage for him to even ask Lorleina to be his wife when he knew that he was promised to someone else. She swallowed the insults she had pent up in her throat and took a few more steps forward.
"Rowan....can we talk?"
