The sun was high but the air was cool, a side effect of it being mid September. The sky was pretty clear of clouds but that didn't mean the view of the clear blue wasn't obstructed, well at least not for one mutant teen laid out on one of the concrete benches.
Adam Argent was spending some time cooling off after a vigorous free running session through the grounds. It explained his gym shorts and skimpy t-shirt in such cool weather. he was only mildly tuckered out by his physical exertion but he was starting to think he was tired in a different sense. The biggest hint he had was the fact that he really hadn't been in the mood for a run in the first place and he was always in the mood to at the very least jog. It helped him to clear his head but it hadn't helped today. Something had him feeling down. Homesickness maybe? He had been at the Xavier's for a few months now but he felt right at home and he called his family every couple of weeks just to say hi and everything so homesickness honestly seemed unlikely to him.
He wracked his brain as he watched streams of multi colored lights flowing across the universe, the results of electromagnetic transmissions that went unseen by a mjority of the populace. To him though they were as plain as day thanks to a portion of his mutation which let him see the entire electromagnetic spectrum. As he observed the dancing lights he twirled a silver bracelet on his wrist, marked with a roman numeral 'II' denoting a two. It was an X-gene suppressant device meant to dampen and cancel out a mutant's powers and for Adam it did that well enough. IIt wasn't strong enough to stop him from using his powers or from them functioning but it was capable of lowering their effectiveness enough that his mind wasn't being bombarded with the artificial thoughts and processes of technological deviceswhich was the more notable extension of Adam's ability. He was a Technopath and a damn powerful one at that. Where a telepath could read the minds of a human and control them and manipulate those faculties, he could do the same with electronic devices and signals. His ears could hear the radio or cell phone conversations just as easily as he heard a voice and his mind could hear machine 'thoughts' but hte problem was he had trouble shutting them out so he had opted to take one of these oppressive bracelets so he could function properly.
Then he started to think about it and as his fingers played across the bracelet he felt around for the clasping mechanism and pulled it apart and took it off. The rush of technological voices slowly rushed in like a tidal wave and as it did, a nostalgic smile spread across his face. This was what h had been missing. He hadn't accidentally heard a mechanical voice in his head for almost two months but he had grown so used to it that it became normal to him. He also started to realize he'd been wasting time trying to learn to control this portion of his powers.
What had he been up to? Sighing, he began trying to weed through the signals and quell the voices to tune into satellite radio and after about 30 seconds, he managed the feat and kipped up off of the bench and started rocking out to the tunes, dancing and generally getting down with his bad self because it felt like freedom to not be wearing the bracelet again. unfortunately he had his eyes closed and wasn't paying attention to his surroundings like a damn fool.
(OOC:sorry it's poop I gotta get back into his mindset it should get better over time I think.)
