Lelouch covered his eyes with his arm as he stepped out of the New York airport. His plane had just landed less then a half hour ago and he was feeling tired and a bit jet lagged. Looking around for the cab his father had said would be waiting to take him to the school Lelouch took in his new surroundings.
After finding the cab Lelouch quickly placed his suit case into the trunk and soon they were off. As they were making there way down the busy streets of New York he turned his gaze out the window. He knew what his parents were doing they thought that a new change of scenery would be good for him, and what better place then where two of his cousins, one which he hasn't seen since he was like what, ten?, were teachers? Yeah great plan. Well at least this was a trail visit and nothing set in stone, yet.
Becoming lost in thought Lelouch didn't realize that they were already approaching the front gates of the school for the gifted, and only snapped out of his thoughts when the driver said they had arrived at their destination.
Letting out a sigh Lelouch opened the door and stepped out of the cab and took his suit case that was in the drivers hand. Making his way up the steps Lelouch looked up to what would be his new home for the next couple of weeks. He was about to open the door when he heard the sound of footsteps from the other side and then the sound of the door in front of him opening....

Beth had never been so glad to see Xaviers institute before. This morning she had made the impulsive (and stupid) decision to explore the streets surrounding her new home. But New York was a scary place for someone who grew up in Kansas City, it was so big and everything looked the same. As could be expected she ended up lost. After 2 hours (though it felt like an eternity to her) of wandering aimlessly, she felt for sure she going to die all alone out there. Which was why finally seeing the institute felt like the best moment of her short life.
She bounded through the gates and up the stairs, eager to get inside and leave the confusing maze of streets far behind her. She was so eager in fact, that she didn't notice there was someone else on the steps until she was past them. Even then, it was her ability that let her know there was someone there. In fact, her ability gave her more information than was called for. In an instance she knew there was someone behind her, male, close to her in age, who was new here. She also felt a vibe of tiredness coming from him. Beth stopped in her tracks, already pushing the door open and turned to the figure, excited as she always was to meet someone new. "Hello!" She said, smiling warmly at the person. "You're new here aren't you? Are you a new student? I'm a student here! I've only been here a month though, so I don't really know much. I'd give you the grand tour but I'd probably end up getting us both lost. In fact, I just found my way back from being lost. New York is so big! Have you been before?" All of this Beth said at an incredible rate, not seeming to pause even to breathe. She could of gone on, she only stopped herself because she realized she was rambling. Even so, she didn't wait for him to answer any of her questions before continuing. "I'm sorry" She said, smiling in an apologetic manner "I was rambling wasn't I? I do that a lot. I'm Beth" She held out her hand toward him, a hopeful glint in her eyes.

Lelouch had to take a step away from the front door when a girl that looked to be about his age came running up the steps not seeming to notice that he was there. He was just planning on following the girl in since he figured she hadn't seen him and he wasn't exactly in the mood to draw attention to himself, and then had to take another step back when the girl suddenly turned to face him. She started to shoot questions at him so fast that the only thing that Lelouch could really do was blink and think what?
When the girl finally took a pause Lelouch finally got his bearings when it came to this girl. Taking her hand he introduced himself as well. “Lelouch.” His voice had a French accent to it. It was his first time back in America after four years and he forgot how...excited? Was that the right word? He would go with it. He forgot how excited they were when they met new people. Trying to process what the girl had told him he finally came to a conclusion about the gist of what she was asking him. “I'm not technically a student here, yet. My parents just thought it might be a good experience for me since my cousin is one of the teachers here.”

Beth smiled at him as she shook his hand. Well, the correct statement would be she continued to smile at him, because she hadn't stopping since the conversation started. She always smiled, it just changed slightly depending on what she was talking about. This was her 'welcome to Xaviers School for the Gifted' smile, a new one she'd just come up with.
"Le....Louch?" She stumbled over his name, and then laughed at her own sloppy pronunciation. "I'm sorry, I don't do so well with names. I can't get my tongue around anything beyond Kate or Peter. Is it Foreign? French?" The last word slipped out without her knowing why. She'd noticed his accent but Beth couldn't tell a French accent from a Chinese one. She hadn't exactly been exposed to many nationalities growing up.
She turned as she spoke and started to lead Lelouch through the doors and inside the School, indicating with her head for him to follow. "So who's your cousin then?" She asked as she walked, her voice as bright and enthusiastic as it always was, even though the sentence didn't really call for it.

Lelouch couldn't help but smile when the girl, Beth, had difficulty saying his name. A lot of people in America did. So he decided to help the poor girl out. “If it helps you pronounce it like le-lu-sh.” After he finshed explaining how to eplain his name he flashed back to when he stayed with his grandfather and had to explain to the people there how to say his name. It was beginning to like it was going to be much the same here.
When Beth asked if it was a foreign name Lelouch was about to answer that it indeed it was and that it was french when when she beat him to it. He was a little surprised seeing that no one he had met here had been able to guess that it was french, but he just simply smiled at her. “Yes it is French. I'm impressed that you were able to tell not many people do.”
When she beckoned for him to follow her into the mansion he did so thankful that someone would be able to show him around, even if she had only gotten there a few days before himself. When she asked him who is cousin was he turned to face her once again. “My cousin is Nick, Nick Elensar. Have you met him yet?”
