At the end of the darker part of the corridor lies one single room. As you make your way toward the room, the lights over head flicker eerily. You can hear faint singing that is coming from within the room. The rotted wooded door is open a crack, so as to let the sound of the voice out just slightly. You carry on warily toward the room, a small chill threatening to creep up your spine…
I’m a little bug, out of sight in a tree
There’s a hungry woodpecker, she’s lookin’ for me
She’s diggin’ a hole, in this old dead tree
If she finds me hiding, for my life I will plea
There’s a hungry woodpecker, she’s lookin’ for me
She’s diggin’ a hole, in this old dead tree
If she finds me hiding, for my life I will plea
The words now are audible, the door only feet in front of you. The voice is the soft tone of a young girl. She seems to be singing a children’s song. Still, with the atmosphere the song seems very eerie and foreboding. Swallowing hard you continue on…
Don’t eat me woodpecker, I’ve got a candy bar
Don’t eat me woodpecker, I’ve got a lollipop too
How about some birthday cake, take it from me
Wash it down with this milkshake, let me go free
Don’t eat me woodpecker, I’ve got a lollipop too
How about some birthday cake, take it from me
Wash it down with this milkshake, let me go free
You slowly push the door open, the hinges creaking only slightly. Even so the song continued on as if the owner of the voice didn’t know you were here. The room had dark gray walls; pictures of unicorns and other unknown, yet dark, creatures were taped on the wall. There were only two small windows that let light in. You continue to look around…
She’s coming much closer, tapping I hear
If I try to escape, she’ll catch me I fear
She’s chipping big chunks of bark off this tree
If She finds me hiding, for my life I will plea
If I try to escape, she’ll catch me I fear
She’s chipping big chunks of bark off this tree
If She finds me hiding, for my life I will plea
There in the far right corner of the room a small mattress lay on the ground. A bunch of blankets are on the mattress along with all sorts of different teddy bears. Each stuffed bear has a name stitched sloppily on its chest. There is also a large blue pillow. You look at the ground and see more pictures, teddy bears, and other little girl toys strewn all over the ground. With the dim light from the small over hanging light the whole seen just seemed ominous. You then notice the presence of the person who had been singing…

Don’t eat me woodpecker, I’ve got a lollipop too
How about some birthday cake, take it from me

The singing stops as the person notices your presence. There you see a small frail looking girl with ratty dirty blond hair, a small ribbon tied loosely in the mess. She looks very pale, almost sickly. She looked scrawny, not well fed, and sleep deprived. Her wild onyx eyes study you, yet at the same time look right through you. She is wearing clothes obviously two sizes too big for her. She obviously isn’t all there in the head as you notice her eyes suddenly dart from side to side. The whole place, the girl included, just gives bad vibes and the voice in the back of your mind just keeps telling you to leave. The girl giggles suddenly looking back at you. She then just goes back to drawing humming the same tone as the song she was singing before. Not sure why you ventured down here, you now just want to leave and go back to your room. This was the insane mutant girl known as Lacey, the one who lived in the darkest part of the ruins.
