Time Absorption: It’s a bit complicated, but… Basically, when a person dies a violent death (and she is within two hundred feet of the dying person), she takes the time the person would have lived, to extend her own life. These years can stack up to an endless amount, and, theoretically, enable her to live forever. Things that classify as a violent death, are anything that’s caused by human error. Car accidents, shootings, surgery gone wrong, even a faulty device. Now, this doesn’t mean she knows how long a person would live. In fact, she only takes the average life expectancy of the person. (Depending on how healthy, how old the person is, and if there are any health problems that can affect life expectancy, she can take any number of years, ten, twenty, she’s even gotten up to seventy from an extremely young and healthy person, but she could take more.)
Now, some questions to arise when dealing with this form of ‘immortality’. What happens if SHE dies a violent death, because that’s the only way she CAN die (can’t really die of natural causes…). It’s very, very simple. She doesn’t stay dead. You simply chop off a number of years from her life. The more violent the death, the more years you take. So, if you just shot her in the chest and she bled out, she’d lose…. Ten to twenty years, on average. If you cut her up into little bits with a chainsaw, you’d ‘saw’ (pun intended) off at least a hundred years, not to mention she’d probably spend another ten just piecing back together. Until she’s completely reformed, she’s stuck in limbo, neither living nor dead. Keep hacking at her years, and you’ll eventually get her down to her own life span, and she will permanently die the next time you kill her.
Because she uses other people’s ‘years’ to extend her own life, she obviously doesn’t use her own, so, theoretically, if you managed to get rid of all her gathered years, she would use her own life span, and, thus, age. This is the reason why after six hundred years she still has the looks of the teenager, because only her ‘own years’ can physically age her. So, if she ever felt the desire to, she can age… And eventually grow old. You know, if she wants to.
Phantom/Vapor form: Obviously, her power has some… side effects, that actually presented itself as a second power! It didn’t appear until she experienced a rather long recovery time. She was never the same after that, and sometimes found herself not all… there. Basically, like a ghost. She’s more like vapor though, a hazy shape that most people pass off as not real. And, when she knows what’s on the other side, she’s capable of passing through solid objects, like walls. Finally get how she can be a poltergeist? Unfortunately, she’s incapable of communicating or touching anything in this form.
On several occasions, her eyes will faintly glow blue. These times are…. First, when she is near a dying individual, with time she can steal (so someone that’s dying because of human error.). Second, after she’s stolen time (the time her eyes will glow will vary depending on how much time she stole, so it might be a few minutes to a few hours.). Third, when she’s in Vapor form (as long as she’s in the form, her eyes will glow the entire time.). And finally, when she’s recovering from a death (every time she dies, they’ll glow for at least an hour or so.).
• Flaw/s |
Obviously, her power doesn’t prevent her from dying, or feeling pain in general, so she’s been forced to experience painful deaths hundreds of times. Another flaw is the fact that her power doesn’t heal her, so you could cut off a limb, and as long as she survived, she wouldn’t recover. As soon as she dies though, she’ll be pieced back together, limb and all (It can take quite a while, though). Obviously, another flaw is the fact that the more violent her death, the longer it takes to recover, there was at least one occasion when she spent fifty YEARS recovering, stuck in limbo. You also have to realize that her power isn’t the friendliest when it comes to a person’s sanity, and over the years hers has gotten a little… shaky.
Her vapor form, obviously, is a flaw unto itself. It wasn’t supposed to happen. Other than that there are several other flaws to the ability. First, control in general. Her power seems to have a mind of its own, and tends to activate when she least expects it, and sometimes refusing to let her stop using her power. Telepaths also have a much easier time getting into, and controlling her mind. Last, but not least, she’s incapable of touching, or speaking in the vapor form.
• weapons | A thousand years gave her a long time to learn a few tricks. She’s fairly competent (and by competent, I mean lethal.) in a wide variety of medieval and modern weaponry.)
• Overall Abilities/ Skills | She’s had a LONG time to master many, many skills, so I’ll list the most obvious.
- Speaks, and understands more languages then she can name (Well… she can name them, she just doesn’t feel like it.) – When you’ve been around as long as she has, you tend to pick up a LOT of languages. Especially when you travel as much as her.
- Alchemy - Not the whole ‘metal to gold’ kind. The chemistry sort. Seeing as Chemistry wasn’t called… well chemistry when she was born, she still calls it Alchemy.
- Martial Arts – Oh, come on. A thousand years, remember? Obviously she’s spent a lot of time learning how to fight! She’s mastered many different martial art forms.
- Weaponry – Already stated above, she’s mastered quite a few weapons in her time. (That’s a bit of an understatement. Pfft, just a few?)

• weight | 120 pounds
• Hair color | Dark brown
• eye color | chocolate brown
• Playby | Lily Collins
• Overall Appearance |
Pippa looks like a normal sixteen-year-old girl, to be honest! She isn’t quite a plain Jane, but not a knock out either! She’s pretty, yes, but seems to… Blend into the crowd if you will, and it probably doesn’t help that she WANTS to go unnoticed! You can tell by her glossy hair (She’s known to dye it different shades of brown and black on occasion.) and smooth fair skin that she puts a lot of effort into her appearance, but isn’t the type to spend hours getting ready. Her chocolate brown eyes glow faintly at times (refer to the power section for those specific times.), which make it pretty obvious she’s a mutant.
Her dressing style is…. Well, it changes to be honest! It depends purely on those around her. If she’s surrounded by high fashion, she’ll dress like it, and blend. If she’s in the slums, she’ll dress like that’s where she belongs. Basically, she’s become a bit of a master when it comes to hiding in plain sight, using everyone else around her as a prop to pull it off.

• Likes |
• Dislikes |
• Flaws |
• Habits |
• fears | Her permanent death, and that her pursuers will finally catch her.
• Goals/ dreams | To see every corner of the world (she’s pretty close to accomplishing this one.), and to be the last person alive on the planet.
• Overall Personality |
You know, Pippa isn’t what you’d expect of a girl of her looks. She’s a bit odd, to be honest, but not in a good way! Thankfully, this oddity doesn’t really present itself unless you actually start to get to know her because of her insanely good acting skills.
If she manages to keep you from finding out anything about her, she can put on quite the show, and you’ll never know! She’ll come off as a timid, soft spoken, and sweet young lady, with a strong desire to keep to herself. She’s smart, but not abnormally so, and will probably run away at the first sign of danger. Befriending people seems to be difficult for her, and she has an even harder time opening up to people who have managed to gain her trust. When she finally does though, she spins a web of intricate lies, stories of a heartbreaking past that you’ll likely never find a single flaw in.
That whole act though, is just that. An act. All a lie. She is in no way timid, soft spoken, and least of all sweet! Pippa is probably the vainest, and most selfish person you have ever met. A thousand years of looking out for herself, and herself alone, has seriously twisted what was once a polar opposite personality. But, can you blame her? Living that long is bound to have side effects on ones sanity!
Pippa was a vain individual to begin with, but this trait only intensified over time. Now, she honestly can’t stop herself from checking her appearance every moment she can… And she’s started to judge everyone else’s appearance as well. She can’t stand it when people don’t put time and effort into their appearance, and will even go as far as ‘bullying’ people about it. The whole selfish part is basically just a way to keep what remains of her sanity. She’s learned to turn off her ability to sympathize, and care for others, simply because she hates deaths can affect a person’s mentality. And after witnessing her families, and then the deaths of so many of her friends… Well, best not to grow any more attachments to avoid the effect those had.
Pippa is smart. Okay, wait, no that’s a bit of an understatement. You can’t put this woman in the same category as just any smart individual. Since she’s spent hundreds of years devoted almost purely to research and study, she’s bound to pick up a few things! Well, more than a few things. If you give her the chance, she’ll brag about all her accomplishments, like the countless languages she can speak, the instruments she’s mastered, the martial art forms, alchemy, physics, you name it, she’s studied it at one point in her long lifespan.
You could say Pippa is a bit old fashioned, in the sense that there are several things she does not approve of. At all. Heaven forbid you tell the woman anything that wasn’t socially acceptable during her normal lifespan! She’s probably the most conservative person you have ever met, to the point where she doesn’t approve of even the slightest change.

• Birthplace | A village in Norway that hasn’t existed in a LONG time, and thus the name is unimportant.
• Mother | Gala Petrova (Deceased.)
• Father | Bogdan Petrova (Deceased.)
• Siblings | Anastas Petrova (younger brother. Deceased.)
• Other Relations | None living.
• Overall history |
Phillipa was born in January of 925 ad, to a rather…. Interesting family. You see, her mother was what this century calls a ‘Stay-at-home-mom’, and her father…. Well… He was a Viking to put it bluntly. Yes, that kind of Viking. The family was located in a remote village on the coast of Norway, but the family relocated to Iceland with many other Norse families when the girl was still very little.
Obviously, the family business has some… Occupational hazards, but for a while they managed to go without incident for a short while, during which time the family welcomed a new member, Pippa’s younger brother Anastas. With an extra mouth to feed, the father of the family went on more and more voyages, and young Pippa had to pick up the slack. It was because of this that she became familiar with alchemy in the first place, since her mother acted as a midwife.
Things went well for the family until Pippa was about fifteen or so. At that time, Pippa joined her father on one of his voyages. It wasn’t a raid, of course, simply a trade route to another Viking colony. It wasn’t as simple as first expected though. A member of the Viking crew had made quite a name for himself, and an infamous one at that. There was quite a bounty on the man, high enough that a few of his comrades ratted him out to the English navy.
You can kind of see where this is going…. The English attack, in an attempt to get revenge on the Viking, and kill the entire Viking crew in the process. Well, almost. Pippa managed to survive, obviously thanks to her power. It wasn’t an easy recovery though, since it was her first death, and she ended up having amnesia and wandering aimlessly along the coast of England. She was found by several fishermen, who decided to take the teenager in until she recovered. No one really knew who she was, but it was obvious she wasn’t English, since she didn’t understand any of the language. At the same time though, they didn’t really know what she was, since this particular village had never been raided by Vikings and were thus unfamiliar with the Norse language.
Pippa remained in the village for several years, in which time she grew very close with several of the villagers, and they managed to teach her English. Unfortunately, she never got over her amnesia, at least not during her time in the village. Everything went fine for fifteen or so years, so around the time she would have been 25…. But she still had the looks of a teenager. She literally hadn’t aged a day since her arrival. At first, it had flat out astonished and baffled the villagers, but, since this was a time of superstitions and myths, the villagers believed she was a sort of ‘Asrai’, a type of water fairy (since they found her on the shore…). Since the stories of the Asrai were extremely common in the area, and no one could figure out where she came from, it wasn’t that hard of a jump.
Unfortunately, an outsider heard of this mysterious young woman, and that’s when things got a little complicated. Rumors started spreading like wild fire across the entire country, and not all of them good. Some people, like the villagers, believed she really was an Asrai, and meant no harm to the English people, while others were under the impression that she was a witch, sent by the Devil himself. Obviously, the villagers didn’t take kindly this theory, which only made matters worse. In the end, a mob of these Witch hunting Englishmen took matters into their own hands and burned the entire village to the ground, with all the villagers, and Pippa, in it. It doesn’t take a genius to know that she survived. When she woke up from her second death, she could remember everything about her previous life.
Obviously, one of the first things she did was head for home, managing to locate a Viking trading ship and stow away. Back in Iceland once again, she did everything she could to try and find her mother and brother. Sadly, there was no luck. After the disappearance of Pippa and her father, the two remaining family members traveled to another Viking colony. Since it was impossible to locate what remained of her family, Pippa went on the move, traveling all of Europe in an effort to discover just what she was.
She traveled for almost two hundred years, never staying in one place for more than a few months to avoid a repeat of certain events. During the time, she finally figured out exactly why she was living so long, and how to control this power. At first, she considered just turning her power off completely, and letting herself grow old and die. But… after all the amazing things she’d witnessed in her travels, she couldn’t bring herself to. It was then she was discovered by a small band of mutants, and decided to join up with them.
Obviously, she wasn’t the only ‘immortal’ in the group that found her. In fact, there were a handful of them, and over the years she and the other ‘immortals’ started to think they were better than the others. That, because they could live forever they were ‘more special’ then the other mutants. They broke away from the rest of the group after an unusually nasty fight broke out.
This band of immortals traveled the world, searching for more individuals like them, and shunning any others. As you can imagine, as the centuries passed, their stuck up nature only got worse, but their numbers stayed small, if only because variations of their power was so rare. The more time that passed, the more… distant the individuals got from each other. In the early 1800’s, they finally disbanded, going their separate ways because, like before, there started to be segregation in the small group. You could say some of them were more power hungry then the others… And it had started to worry the…. Gentler mutants in the group.
After so many centuries, Pippa was alone once again. Things were peaceful though, and that was all that really mattered. Well, peaceful for a bit. Ten years after leaving her friends behind, a few of them that had grown resentful of those that left came knocking. At first she simply thought they wanted to get the band back together, promising her that things had changed. That wasn’t the case. They brutally murdered her, mutilating her body to the point that it didn’t even slightly resemble a human being. Up until that point, her deaths had always been clean and simple, so they were convinced she couldn’t recover from a death as violent and gruesome as this. Obviously they were wrong, but they didn’t find out about that for a long time.
It took…. Years to recover from that death, but eventually she managed to piece herself back together. She wasn’t the same though. Not only had she just been betrayed by those she’d considered family to her, but it seemed she was having a side-effect from taking so long to recover. She was a ghost. Sort of. Partially. Sometimes people would see her, sometimes they wouldn’t. In an effort to make sure she didn’t draw attention to herself (or let her former friends find out about her surviving), she decided to play along with this new found… calling of hers. She decided to haunt an old, well known, and infamous mansion, literally becoming a poltergeist. You could say she’s the reason why the mansion went from mildly infamous to downright terrifying.
Pippa haunted the place until the first World war, mostly because she couldn’t figure out how to get out of her ghostly form. Finally though she managed to get some control over the ability, and free herself. Deciding to take advantage of the current era, the woman managed to join as a nurse for the United Kingdom. Half way through the war, she found herself bored by her occupation, and deserted. She fled her current post in France, and headed East. With no real destination in mind, she managed to find her way to China, more specifically the Shaolin Monastery. Taking advantage of the situation, she managed to convinced the monks to train her in the art of Kung Fu. You’d think being alive for as long as she has, she would have spent some time learning the ancient art before now!
Anyway, the point is, she remained a student of the temple from 1918 until 1028, at which time the Monastery was almost completely burned to the ground by a Warlord. Fleeing the Monastery, she made her way back to Europe, and finally onward to the United States for the very first time in her long life. For some reason, she’d never felt much desire to explore the country since she never felt like being on a boat for that long (bad memories of boats after all.)
Her time in the United States has been an eventful one to say the least! She managed to stay out of World War 2, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t in a Warzone. Her old group of ‘friends’ managed to discover that she was still alive, and decided she’d overstayed her welcome here on Earth. Pippa was ready for them this time though, which was probably why she’d taken the time to master Kung Fu, and several other useful survival skills. Obviously, she gave them a run for their money the first few times they tried to take her out.
Knowing it’d take someone more…. Suited to the job to take out this ancient mutant, the mutants managed to force an encounter between the woman and a mutant that had made quite a name for himself. Knowing this mutant tended to kill anyone that got on his bad side, they were hoping on exactly that outcome. As it so happened, things went according to plan. It was simply a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, which ended in a rather gruesome death for Pippa. This happened in the 1940’s, and the woman spent ten years simply recovering.
Since that recovery, she’s devoted her time to physical training. Hand to hand, modern weaponry and much more. Only in the last ten years and she started testing these skills against others, and she’s proven to be quite lethal…
