*Xander was in his room, he had a lot to think about. His best friend’s new girl could be trouble, for everyone here, on top of that, the thought of his loneliness plagued his mind. And the more he thought about it, the more he thought that there wouldn’t be a girl for him. To get his mind off of the...depressing thought of girls. He sat in a chair that would normally be used with a computer. He had his guitar in his hands and he played some strange tune. He slowly transitioned from a created tune, to a tune of a popular song. He hummed the tune of the words as he did. Xander’s eyes happened to be closed, and he played by feel and sound. When he got a note wrong, Xander just simply went back a few notes and fixed it, smiling that he got it right, also laughing at himself that he made that mistake.*
*That was until he sensed a new item in his room. He stopped playing when he noticed it. He played a lower note and listened to how it bounced off the walls and furniture. There was a small body, probably a child. To make sure he opened his eyes, using his power, and smiled at the small cat eared child.* Hello, can I help you?

Kristy was still new to this place and being a young child she wanted to explore what she could she was walking around wide eyed to everything around her but still very jumpy to everything that happened she liked this place so far and no one was mean to her but it did get lonely when everyone was gone or sleeping, she was use to being alone but she didn’t like to be.
That was when she herd something that was a bit odd someone was playing some music kristy snuck around and poked her head into xander’s room and watched for a second before she snuck in she was careful not to make any nousie what so ever she saw that he had his eyes shut so she was getting closer to him she wanted to look at the guitar all she needed to do was find a spot to hid in the room so when he opened his eyes then she be safe and she thought that she was she could lesion to the lovely music from where she was and she was curled up very nicely. When he stopped for a second Kristy then started playing the lower notes she looked at him thinking he was going to start another song but then he opend his eyes and looked at her. Kristys eyes widened and she ran off and hid under xanders bed she was tempted to turn in to a cat but she only would if he was going to case after her. She was scared that she was going to get in turbule for being in there it wasn’t her place to be and someone was bound to get mad at her and this person looked normal to not like some of the other things she had seen.

*Xander watched as the cat girl ran under her bed and out of sight. He simply stopped using his power and smiled. She was obviously scared.* It’s alright, I won’t hurt you. *He then started to play a fun, excited tune on the guitar. He hoped that the little one would come out. While he played he spoke.* My name is Xander, I’ve lived down here for quite a few years. I’m good friends with The Dragon King, maybe you know him. *Xander thought that by mentioning a person that she probably knew, it would make her more comfortable. Everyone knew Ben, just by different names.*
*As he played, he didn’t close his eyes, but if the kitty would look, she might just notice that his eyes looked almost dead, and that he seemed to not be looking at anything in particular. He did this often. But normally he was wearing sunglasses, because some people had told him that it was kind of creepy. Remembering this he closed his eyes, as to not scare the little child that had just entered the room not too long ago.* It’s alright to be here, you won’t get in trouble. *He then completely stopped talking and continued to play a up beat, fun tune on his guitar.*

Kristy didn't move form under the bed she was trying to think of the best way out of there when he started to talk to her, he said that he was friends with the dragon king she just watched him trying to think of who he was, she had never really had to keep track of names before but she taught she knew who he was talking about. The big guy with the wings who didn't talk much. Yea she was sure it was him.
She stayed down there for a wile and lessioned to his song she didn't come out until he has said the last part and even then she weighted a bit until she came out of her hiding spot she crawled out and sat right at the foot of the bed drawing her legs close to her holding them not having her eyes leaving him for a second.
She didn't trust this zander person he was the only normal looking person down hear there was something wrong with his eyes but still he wasn't monster looking he looked like any other normal person on the street witch made her hair stand on end normal people where mean most the time there had been few that she liked.

*Xander smiled when he heard her wiggle out from her hiding place, he decided that looking at her might scare her again so he kept his eyes closed. He wasn’t big on trusting strangers, so he would rather her be somewhere where he could track her movements. She was in his room.*
*He sighed at the silence. There were no noise save it were the sound of him strumming the strings on the instrument in his hands. He stopped to play to reach for his water bottle. It took a little bit, but it entered his hand soon enough and he drew it closer. Pulling it to him, he opened the top and drank some of the water. He closed the top then moved it until it was safe on top of the desk that he was sitting near. He then moved his hand, so he wouldn’t bump it. He would then have to find it...that was if it fell to the floor.*
*Continuing to play the guitar he once again hummed the tune softly that he was playing. It was a nice happy tune. This whole time he continually kept his eyes closed, Xander hoped that by doing so he wouldn’t scare the girl anymore than he already seemed to do. He could feel her looking at him though. He was sure that she was just as suspicious of him as he was about her.*

Kristy watched him her fur sanding up she lissioned to every sound as he strummed the instrument the lake of noise was unnerving to her and when he stopped to grab the water bottle she thought it was odd how he didn't open his eyes to do so and he kept his eyes closed the hole time.
She didn't know what was going on why he was doing that, she wondered if it was because she was to ugly to look at because of her mismatch fur she looked down at her self holding her self tighter normal people where no diffent in hear then they where out there she figured at lest he hadnt chucked the water bottle at him or something.
She made a small squeaking sound with her vosice as she spoke to him not able to look at him “you think im an ugly monster don't you.....don't worry...i get it a lot it dosn't bother me anymore”
she looked the ground trying to find something to look at that would keep her mind off of it she really didn't mind well part of her did but it was normal for people to think that way she was just hoping that this place no one whould think that but she guessed that was only for dreams.

*Xander stopped playing when he heard the little girls squeaky voice. He smiled. Hopening his eyes, but not looking at her.* Actually I can’t see, I’ve only used my power once, and that was to see who was in my room. All I saw was an outline. I’ve never seen a girl like you, and I’m sure you're beautiful. *He was trying to make her feel better. He reached to the desk again and felt for a pair of sunglasses and put them on.* It just doesn’t matter to me if my eyes are closed or not, I’m blind either way.
*He listened for where she was and smiled.* For proof, there should be a book or two that have found their way under the bed, near where I think you are sitting. Open the books up and try to read them. *He didn’t know if she knew how to read or not. but either way she would notice that the pages would be a little thicker and the books would have small bumps on them, so would the spine and cover of the book. Xander didn't’ have many books in braille, but he did have a few. Those kind of books are hard to come by. He didn’t even know where his friends had found them, but he had learned when he started going blind.*

Kristy tilted her head when he said he was blind she didn't trust him at first and flinched when he went to grab the sunglasses form his desk. Her eyes didn't moved off of him she acted like he was going to attack any second or something like that.
When he said that there where books under the bed near her and it be prof that he couldn’t see she looked and found the books she didn't know how he expected her to read yes most little girls her age could read but she was way behind on that type of stuff. She pulled the book the second she picked it up she knew something was odd with the book the cover wasn't normal there where bumps on it instead of words.
When she opened it there was still only bumbs and no words she looked at him and back at the book. She got up and slowly moved her way to Xander holding the book up “um,,.there no words in this” she looked at him confused on what the trick was why was his book so wired where was the words didn't you need words or pictures to tell a story.

*Xander could hear her pick up the book. He waited with a smile, putting his guitar back. She seemed to be taking her time, flipping through the pages, trying to figure something out. For some reason he knew that she would ask what the heck it was. Not many kids knew what braille was. Hearing her move closer he looked in her general direction. And because of this, he was prepared to answer it.* It’s called braille. Those bumps are the letters, and they make words. I learned to read it before I went blind. It takes a while, but once you have learned, then it’s easy to form words in your mind. *He wasn’t sure if she would understand that...at all. Or the fact that he wasn’t blind and now he was, but it was the truth.*
*He moved his hand forward, with his palm up.* I’ll show you how it works, just hand me the book.* He looked forward, not sure exactly where she was. But he did want to show her that he could actually read this stuff. Xander didn’t know why, but he felt like he was going to be seeing a lot more of this little girl.*

Kristy looked at him she was very confused about what he was talking about how could these little bumps be letters letters where the things on signs there was that one food place that had the really big letter for there sign she knew that one at a near by one if she showed up as a cat she get chicken nuggets form one of the workers if she sat outside long enough but how could he see the bumps and read them it didn't makes scene.
When he moved his hand forward she steped back a bit and looked at his hand for a momment before she handed the odd book to him making sure that he had it looking at him unsure what to think she never meet anyone who was blind before.
As soon as he had the book she sat down as if she was weighting for a story of some sort she had seen people pull out books and tell storys before and she had dreams about sitting around and telling storys she was slightly moving her tail across the floor of the room “Story time” she smiled at him hoping it was a good one not one full of monsters eating kids those story’s where scary and no fun to lesson to

*Xander could tell that she was a little nervous about something, but after a little bit she gave him the book. He closed his right hand, all but his middle finger and his index finger. Running his fingers over the bumps on the top of the books he smiled as he recognised what book it was.*
*Hearing her move around he wondered what she was doing, then her motive became obvious when she spoke. He laughed a little bit then nodded.* Alright that sounds fair. This is a collection of the brothers grimm stories. *They were pretty good stories, but they were not always good for children. And they didn’t have happy endings. But he then opened it and got ready to read.* Just let me know if it gets scary or boring for you. *He then started to read the first story. Xander read the first story. As it ended he closed the book.* How was that? *He smiled, hoping that the little kitty girl liked it. She was probably asleep or frightened, or wanting more. Xander only thought he was ready for two of them. And it wasn’t hard to figure out which ones those were. Xander wasn’t sure how well he was with kids. Guess this was going to be the time where he figured out that he was really good with kids, or at a loss?*

When he read the story she lessioned to the story it was called the elves and the cobbler Kristy was a bit confused on what a cobbler was but she figured after a bit of the story that they make shoes but that wasn't the coolest part of the story he was reading it like it was a book sort of but it was odd. She was conviced that he was making it up but there was times that he would stop and reread something every once in awile.
When he was done she jumped up and looked at the book and traced put her fingers on the book and closed her eyes “Its not working I can't read it” she said a little put out by the fact that she couldn’t read something again. She kept moving her finger on the book. “Xander make the magic words apear in my head I want to read to......it easyer then real reading right” she didn't get the fact that each of the set of dots was a letter and it was just as hard if not harder then normal reading and it wasn't magic she thougt this was the coolest trick ever to have words in your head why you read.

*The girl seemed to enjoy the story and Xander could feel when she started to rub her hand across the page. She seemed to think that he was magic. With a laugh Xander shook his head.* It’s not magic. I have learned what each set of dots stand for. Like this one. *He pointed to a set of dots. Then told her what letter it was.* Feeling the dots helps me put the letters together to make words. I could teach you how to read it, if you want, but you would need to know how letters are spelled.
*He smiled, she seemed to be opening up more to him. Guess he was actually pretty good with kids. Or this kid was just easy to get along with. But then begs the question, was she really this excited about braille. She acted like she had never seen it. But he knew that they were all around New York. He knew that he wasn’t the only blind guy in the city. But it’s possible that she hadn’t seen it, or understand what it was. Weather it was true or not he enjoyed explaining it to her nonetheless. On top of that, she had opened up enough to be near him, and now talking lots. Along with touching something that he was touching, without seemingly shaking from fear.*

She looked at xander and pouted a bit she needed to know letters and stuff that was so hard she gave a heavy sigh and stoped moving her hands on the book it didn't look like she was ever going to be able to be able to read a book but she guessed there was other things to do. “sounds.....like it be hard”
She sat down on the ground and looked at xander sighing a little as she did she didn't know what to do no he wasn't playing anymore and the story was done she wanted something to do right now but she didn't know what this guy was slightly more fun then just walking around but he was odd and she was mostly still there because she wanted to figure out what type of a person was blind and could read a book with out reading it and play music.
“xander.....do you really think im pretty” she looked at him with big eyes he had said so earlyer but how did she know he said he chouldn't see that why he read the bumpy book not a normal book and he said he saw an outline how could her outline be petty she had cat ears and not normal ears her hair was a raggied mess and she had a tail that people liked to pull.

Yes, it can be hard, but I’m sure I could teach you how to read it, or maybe even real words, if you don’t already. But everything is hard at first. *He thought about the first time he met the Morlocks. They weren’t all friendly, and he didn’t make any friends at first. That was until he got hurt and so did Ben.*
*He listened to the silence, and tried to figure out what she was doing. She seemed to be thinking about something. Then her question came up. He thought a little bit and set the now closed book down by his feet.* You have a pretty voice, and a good air about you. And if you come closer I can feel your facial structure to paint a picture of what you look like in my mind. *Yet another trick that he learned from losing his eyesight. He was far from perfecting it, or learning how to use it, but at least he can figure out what she looked like. He was sure that she was a beautiful girl, no matter what she thought, or what people told her. She had to be down here for a reason, and that just might be it.
