It took Rose several silent moments to realize what she’d done, the woman still fixing him with that deadly look. When realization struck though… She blinked in surprise, as if suddenly waking up. Honestly, she’d lost it for a moment… and now that she was ‘awake’… He’d probably see her sudden surprise. Shit…. Had she really just….. Yup…. That menacing look turned to serious apology.
It didn’t help that two students walked in right then to see Rose standing, and him sprawled on the floor on the other side of the garage…. Great… Well, her reputation just got a little worse. It was flat out surprising that no one had started to figure out ‘Rose North’ was ‘Rose Nightshade’. Really, it was even the same initials…. People were really dense sometimes…
That was besides the point… The poor guy had just invoked the wrath of Rose. And she felt horrible for losing it for a moment. ”…. I’m sorry…” Her tone suggested he wasn’t the only one this had happened to before. And, honestly, it would have happened no matter what… Or sooner or later. Just another reminder that she was an idiot for thinking she might be able to befriend this student.
She moved to leave, to sneak off and probably avoid the student for the rest of his time there, when he spoke. Sighing, she glanced back at him. ”Just up the stairs in the main hall. You’ll find your room if you just follow the numbers….” Quick getaway now…. She took off, bolting out the door and out of sight as quickly as possible. He wouldn’t even see her when he came out…
