The wind picked up as the red hair woman walked in the shadows. It whipped her hair around her body as she stood frozen in place. The sky was pitch black and dotted with little stars. A few stray clouds floated across the full moon that made enough shadows for her to hide in but enough light for her to see the couple who walked hand in hand down the trail. They were regular humans of course and had nothing mutant about them. She really couldn't stand humans. So helpless and defenseless. They were easy targets which was why the Phoenix was out tonight stalking them.
Jean was asleep of course and the Phoenix was still angry about the other night. How could he reject her? Her?!Her fists clenched at her side as the fire roared up in her body.
She started to walk on the trail behind the couple. They had no idea that she was there. As she neared the couple she used her powers to push them into the bushes as she followed suit. The man tried to protest and fight back but she held him against a tree with her powers and made sure he stayed quiet for now.
She started with the woman as she ripped her skin off piece by piece. Once she was dead she moved to the man. She was slower on him. Blood soon covered the ground and she knew she stank of it but she didn't care. She liked the feel of blood on her hands. The Phoenix left the bodies where they lay and she walked along. There were a lot of voices ahead of her and she was curious.
As she neared the area where the voices were she was surprised to see a lot of humans gathered. This was probably where the couple was headed. One was speaking at the moment. Something about mutant registration and control force. This had to be an anti Mutant rally. the Phoenix scoffed at the pathetic humans around her. If only they knew what she could do to them. She leaned against a tree in her tight jeans and low cut blouse.

Another anti-mutant rally. Didn't they learn something the last time? Of course the last time Victor lost his chance to kill Graydon. Damned wolf man got in the way. Perhaps he'd get lucky and his son would be here tonight. He doubted it, but maybe there would be a clue or two on what his next public appearance would be.
Victor was walking through the park wearing his usual attire. His overcoat hiding most of his fearsome size and shirt while he also wore dark combat style pants. He was heading towards this rally when an interesting scent caught his nose. It was blood, and a lot of it. But there was another smell with that blood. He followed it out of curiousity, until he found the sight. Wow, even he had to be impressed. Though it was a little..sloppy. Then another scent came to him. Ah so the Phoenix was out to play again. A wicked smirk came to his lips before he left the bloody scene to follow that other scent.
As silent as death itself victor came up behind Jean. "Pretty sloppy Darlin'." He of course was refering to the scene he had just come across. "Keep doing stuff like that and your pretty little ass will be locked behind bars before long." He smirked slightly while his eyes went out towards the rally.

Phoenix kept her eyes on the rally as Victor came up behind her. Sloppy? Yeah she had been sloppy but she wasn't trying to hide who she was at that moment. Even if they questioned Jean about it she could just erase the cops memories or plant a new one. There were many ways to get out of situations like that. She had enjoyed herself though. She needed to have blood on her hands again.
But what was Victor doing here? He didn't come off as the one who pretend to be human. He was a mutant and proud of it just like she was. She glanced over him and she couldn't help but notice how handsome he was again. The blood had planted a list inside of her. But she pushed the thought out of her mind. Maybe later she would act on that emotion.
The wind blew her hair out of her face and cheers erupted from the crowd. Apparently someone had said something the humans liked. She wasn't really paying attention anymore. Victor had pulled her attention away from the many people around them.
"Blood is blood as long as its spilled. Wasn't expecting to see you here, Victor."

"I'm always where you least expect me to be." That smirk widened. He excelled in hiding, waiting and pouncing, so what he said was a truth.
His hands were in his coat, letting those claws be unseen for the time being. "I could ask you the same thing. Sure a murder or two, that's not surprising. But why are you staring at the horde of humans?" He wondered if she was plotting a massacre. If she was, well then he wanted in. It was always nice to slide his claws through flesh.
Of course if Graydon was here then that would be a plus. But he hadn't smelled him yet. One of these days he would managed to corner the man, and gut him like a fish. He'd pay for what he did.
And then there was the change of demeanor in her. Before she was eyeing him like a piece of meat and now she acted as if she didn't care that he was there? Aw...did he hurt her feelings? Well, she'd have to get used to it. Victor didn't really do the whole..tender feelings thing. Though he did have a thought or two of pinning her to that tree...

"I'm debating on causing some chaos or not. What are you doing here? Come to find some girl to rape?"
She scanned the crowd and started picking out her targets if she chose to cause a little mayhem. She would love to rip the flesh off of everyone like she did the woman. She had to admit that she should have taken her time with the woman she had just killed. She could have shown her skills but her emotions had been hay wired. It was Victor's fault. He had been the first man who had ever rejected her. Oh she would make him pay later.
Was she getting attached to this man? Impossible. She didn't get attached. She killed and caused pain. That was who she was and who she would always be. Victor was just someone to satisfy her cravings for the other sex. She was only human if you could say that. She had cravings like anyone else. Usually she would just go and find some poor unsuspecting soul and force herself onto him. But Victor had given into her willingly. Maybe he had had the same thoughts about her that she had about him. The thought was flooding through her mind of whether she should keep him alive for a little bit longer or not.

Ouch. That one hurt. He did touch a nerve it seemed. "I came here to kill someone specific. But it seems he's still hiding." He shrugged a bit. If he really wanted Graydon dead he could track him down... But with Graydon's open mutant hatred, it would be poetic justice to kill him infront of those humans. "But since he's not here."
A wicked idea came to mind as he walked away from her towards the crowd. He turned about to look at her while still stepping backwards. "How about a game? One who kills tha most, gets...a wish." A wish? Well he hadn't really thought of a good prize but a wish left it open to interpretation.
But before she could react he took the head start and turned. He rushed through the crowd, heading into the middle of the masses. Before people could really realize what was going on he had a man by the shoulder and Victor's other hand had his claws in the man's stomach. He drove that hand in deeper until he could grab a hold of the most convienent organ and rip it out for the whole rally to see.
Screams were heard and people scattered. The prey was now on the move. "One!"

A wish? Hmm that left a number of possibilities. But the question was would he hold his end of it? She knew she would if she failed to kill more people but she didn't know Victor all that well yet. Maybe he would sneak out of it somehow or find some crazy loophole that no one else would have seen. But the though of killing more people and having more blood on her hands was too much to pass up. She knew she would have to wipe the minds of any witnesses or she would just have to kill them all. Victor could help her with that.
She watched as he went to a guy and ripped his stomach out yelling 'One' to her. A wicked grin came to her face. She walked along casually as she used her powers to pick up pebbles. Seeminglt harmless little things. She pushed them through a group of peoples skulls, killing them instantly. She had gotten five humans with that trick. But there was still more to come.
She walked along and started killing people. She used her powers on most of them but some of them she killed with her bare hands, getting soaked in blood. Soon she was up to thirty humans. She hadn't been keeping count on Victor's number but she was sure it was close to hers. He was a killing machine after all, even she could see that. The Phoenix maimed and slayed more bringing her number to forty-five. The rally had been a big one seeing as a lot of humans didn't like mutants. They thought the park had been a safe place to hold it but they were dead wrong, excuse the pun.
By the time the group was either dead or dispersed the Phoenix was covered in blood. Her face had some splatters on it along with en evil grin. She was in her element and she looked good doing it. She walked seductivly over to Victor. Blood dripped from his claws. His muscles were flexed and he looked just as amused as she was. She looked at the animal in front of her and she couldn't help herself. Her hands shot up and she grabbed his head. She pulled him down for a very vicious kiss. Her teeth bit his lip and her hands more blood onto him. She wrapped her body around him, making her the dominant one for that moment. She pulled away and acted as if nothing had happened. As if that was the norm for her.
"How many?"

The smell of blood was intoxicating. It filled his senses and only made him want more. With and animal like Victor this was the bad thing. So much blood and so much excitement, he wouldn't be able to control himself.
He hadn't payed any attention to what the Phoenix was doing. All of his attention was upon the people and their terrified faces as he ripped them to pieces. Claws were used to cut into flesh while his strength threw more then one body several yards away.
As people scattered suddenly Victor found himself facing a man and a gun. Certainly it was too quick for the police to show up. Just happened to be one of those paranoid people. Victor laughed at the man, and gestured for him to come at him with his hand. Then he felt the sting of three bullets shot haphazardly in his direction. Each one actually hit him, surprisingly. One landed in various places in his chest. Damn that hurt. But with the adrenaline rush of pain Victor quickly shortened the gap between him and the man. Before the man could fire off another round, his gun had been cut into pieces with victor's claws. His other hand lunged forward to grab the human by the throat and lift him up off of his feet. "Shame on you for bringin' a gun to a knife fight." Victor laughed as he saw the fear overtake the man's face before his fragile neck was snapped by the stength of Victor's hand alone. He tossed the limp body aside.
Then suddenly he found himself practically pounced on and his lips consumed by another's. He smirked and growled to her before she pulled away. How many had he killed? "Forty-seven.."

As Rhyme approached the pair the sound began to get sucked out of the environment. The background din of people yelling for help and in pain was sucked away as if by a magical vacuum. He looked nearly identical to Artemis though he probably smelled slightly different as well. He wore different less leather, had less piercing and wore different cologne then Artemis did.
He had on a black leather jacket and his purple eyes glowed with yellow energy that aided him in seeing in the dark. He had a Panic! at the Disco shirt on and his classic pair of ripped jeans and black band shoes.
Rhyme was hoping to catch his other half here to try and beat some answers out of the man. He figured the mutant hating group would attract the more chaotic side of his personality. He was very surprised though when he saw Jean, and some man that he sort of remembered but not exactly. It was in the school, and he was trying to stop the larger man, but he couldn’t remember why.
“Why are you doing this Jean? You are better than this, hurting humans just because they think differently from you? Weren’t we taught better than that?” Rhyme said confused and hurt to see an old friend and teacher doing this.
Rhyme wasn’t a psychic but he still took some of the Psionic classes because his power was dependent on his will and they helped him on splitting and focusing his mental powers to create the effects that he did.

"Well...looks like you win. I have forty-five. Like you said you get one wish."
He had beat her. That was a first in her lifetime. But she had to give him props. He was a very good killer and he looked damn good covered in blood and all animalistic. She looked at him with the fire from killing still in her eyes. She leaned on one hip with her hand on her waist and waited for him to pick what he wanted. She wondered what it was. She tried to push into his mind again but like before she could only see darkness. She wondered how she couldn't see his mind? He probably had some training of some sort.
Her eyes scanned the scene they had just created. Bodies littered the grass and some were even in the trees. Random body parts hung from everywhere and blood soaked the ground to the point where it squished under your feet as you walked. She smiled. Now this was what her world would look like everyday if she had it her way. Now that Victor was here maybe he could help her make the world this way. The possibilities were endless.
The Phoenix looked up as someone else approached. She recognized him from Jean's memories. He was a student at Xavier's some time back but she knew that Jean knew him pretty well. It was funny how he thought that she was Jean at the moment. She scoffed at him.
"Boy, you have no idea who you are talking to at the moment. I'm not Jean. She's too pathetic to do something like this."

Now what was he going to wish for? Honestly he hadn't expected to win, mainly because he hadn't been trying to. He had intended to let her win, oh well. "Hm, I guess I'll wish for..." Suddenly his head perked up as he heard everything start to change around them as well as felt it. The hell was he doing here? But...that wasn't him was it?
A slight snarl came to his lips when he noticed the man that approached. Not only was it an Artemis wanna be but he had some sort of self righteous attitude.
Oh this was going to be good. Victor smirked as he watch 'Jean' put the boy in his place verbally. Victor folded his arms over his now healed chest. Those bullets barely even slowed him down and now it was like it never happened.
"You also have no idea what you just got yourself into." Victor chuckled some as he took a few steps to stand next to Phoenix. "Run back to your little school while you can. Send me a real fight. Where's the Runt? Is he too scared to find me himself?" Victor was still surprised he hadn't seen Logan since that first night..

“God damn it, I thought I was the only one with that much mental baggage.” He cursed at Jean. “So, what do you call yourself then?” He wasn’t fazed by this announcement since he had the exact the issue.
“What are the odds that you will let Jean come back for a nice song?” he said with a very snarky tone since if she was anything like Artemis it would not be that easy, and since she just killed forty-five people she probably was like Artemis.
He then turned to the man as his eyes widened when he remembered the man, and more importantly how he was a lot like Logan but you know, evil.
“Why should I run back when I can be heard from miles away. I’ll fill you in since you seem to be new to this. Sound is my medium and I am its master.” He said with the same attitude and at the end of the line he snapped his fingers and a loud crack of thunder were emitted from them.
He waited for them to make the first move though. He didn’t want to invest the power of pinching this part of spacetime in on itself. It took a lot of energy but worst comes to worst he could keep them trapped until they killed him or he released them but they would probably kill him pretty fast with how much he could do while having all that energy already invested in the pinch.
If Creed tried to attack he would find a pile of bright yellow ribbons in his face as Rhyme spun to the side to dodge the attack.

Jean watched the man through slitted eyes. He had to come in and ruin their fun didn't he? She pulled some of jean's memories out and found that this man had a split personality as well. But The Phoenix and Jean were a different sort of split personality. She couldn't quite explain it but she had a feeling that she was older than jean and had been around for quite some time. But who could prove that?
Thunder clapped from a snap of the man's fingers. So he controlled sound. But was he really the master of it? She would see about that. He didn't seem so tough and she knew that she could take him. She looked over to see Victor standing next to her. She had to admit it felt good to have him ext to her. His musky scent filled her nose along with the scent of blood. Oh how she wanted him right now. But that would have to wait until later. Later she would get what she wanted. Maybe she would be the dominant one later. Who knows what could happen.
"I'm The Phoenix. I'm the better half of Jean. Victor do we really have to deal with this pipsqueak? We were having so much fun."

The better half of Jean? Yea, he'd have to agree with that one. It has been awhile since he met a woman with such, fervor and lust for...well lust and blood. The last one he had met was Mystique. That woman. Well that was a can of worms he never wanted to open again.
But there were smaller things to worry about for the moment. Like the man infront of them right now "I'd say not. He's only good for one thing." Victor grinned as he rolled his shoulders slightly to looses the muscles in his shoulder blades. "A message..." And by message of course he meant a bloody one. They could leave him just alive enough to tell the others and then he'd die. Like something out of a movie. Too bad he wouldn't get to watch it, that'd be entertaining.
"Yea yea I know your whole sound game. It's rather old really. Then again, I could always reintroduce you to your other half." Well if Phoenix didn't want to deal with him, it was always fun just to cause problems in general. Artemis and Rhyme together surely could end up being a rather entertaining show.

Rhyme took a step back as he decided to take a different route. He would need some help; fighting one of them would be hard enough both together would lead to him dead. He can’t beat them, but stalling them would be easier.
He held his hand as if holding a gun and a flare gun appeared in his hand. He fired the gun into the air and a whistling could be heard as the flare flew into the air and exploded into a firework of yellow and purple.
He then raised his hand and the area he cast previously that was controlling the sound became opaque and more distinct.
“Sit tight you two, I am going to need you to help me keep time.
“Come on just snap, snap, snap your fingers for me Good, good now we're making some progress Come on just tap, tap, tap your toes to the beat And I believe this may call for a proper introduction, and well Don't you see, I'm the narrator, and this is just the prologue?”
As he sang a big book appeared in his hands and it appeared as if he was reading from the book. When he did so the light dimmed even more in the area as the outside the bubble hardened. It wouldn’t be impossible to escape but it would be hard while Rhyme was still alive.
At the last line the pages began to fly out of his book and enveloped him as he removed himself partially from reality.
The zone began to shift and change with the shadows starting to come alive. Another Jean appeared who glared at the Phoenix and a fake version of Logan appeared, something to bait the two within the circle.
