Reverie was used to blind jokes, and, before now, she honestly hadn’t liked them to much. But for some reason, whenever Damien said one? It just put a smile on her face. Honestly, she didn’t even know why! It was almost like… She couldn’t not smile! ”Ih could be much worse. Ah could be lead’in.” Actually, as long as everything was stationary, it wouldn’t be that bad. Just don’t involve people or moving parts, and she was fine. So leading the way into a dark, spooky forest? She’d be as useful as him.
You know, the screaming wasn’t that helpful. His flirting though? Definitely helped. So, smiling and blushing a little, she only nodded, as if to say she was too. And, fighting back her nerves, she let him lead her deep into the forest, holding tightly onto his hand. It’d really suck to lose him in here… After a short ways though… It wasn’t just screaming she could hear. There was laughing. What in the world?
The closer and closer they got, the more aware she was of distant thoughts. And a lot of them. Instantly… she frowned, hoping it wouldn’t be too many. After a split second, she wiped the frown off her face, replacing it with that curiosity from before. What was this place? He got it before her, probably because he could see everything, but when she figured it out, she couldn’t help but smile. Even if… There were a lot of thoughts. Enough to give away her instant distress. It really sucked, that she couldn’t enjoy the fact that they’d stumbled upon a Carnival. If she could put her ear buds in? It wouldn’t be nearly as bad, but she down right refused to with Damien here. So what exactly did that leave them with…? Suddenly she felt bad, that she couldn’t be as enthusiastic as him…
She didn’t mean to ruin his excitement, or to give away that there were to many people around, but he’d already caught onto it, pulling her away from the crowds. Flinching a little, she tried to focus on Damien’s thoughts alone to tune out the crowd.
Most his thoughts weren’t coherent, but intentionally sent thoughts? A little easier to pick up on. She slowly glanced at him. Why did he look a little embarrassed…? Poor girl, to many thoughts to really notice where he’d dragged her off to. Quickly, very quickly, she nodded. Anything to get away from them…

The fact that there was a carnival in the middle of some dark woods with no roads in or out was very strange if you thought about it. The fact that it was full of people who had somehow found it was even more strange if you wanted to dwell on such things. Perhaps there were fliers in town for it or something, "meet in the dark spooky woods for a carnival" type of fliers. While it was very strange, it was also very exciting. After all, everybody loved to go to a carnival and have a little fun right? Wrong, apparently.
As soon as they got into the crowds, Damien immediately noticed the look on Reverie's face. It was starting to be an overload for her powers, and seeing her flinching only reinforced that suspicion was correct. So of course, as he had promised before, he immediately began to look for somewhere he knew would be quiet for her to gain control a little bit. The first thing he saw, unfortunately, was the Tunnel of Love and considering how many people were there he knew she would be hurting before long so... Wasn't like he had much of a choice.
When she agreed to go inside, Damien quickly paid the man to let them on the ride, and pulled her into a large swan shaped boat sitting in a small river. The boat immediately, but very slowly, set off toward a very large heart shaped door. The door opened, allowing them passage into the ride, then slowly closed behind them; cutting off all the light from outside, as well as the noise.
Inside the ride, there was total and absolute silence, except for the relaxing trickling of the river the boat was on. It was very dark inside save for the soft red glow of a few lamps here and there, and pictures of cupid and hearts hung all over the walls. Now, Damien wasn't the most romantic guy, nor was he against the idea of romance, but this place was almost sickening...
"Sorry, about that, I didn't know there'd be so many people." Damien said somewhat awkwardly, considering the situation. Though, he didn't know whether it was the setting, or just how beautiful Reverie looked in the glow of the lights, but he suddenly had a very sudden urge to kiss her. His heart raced for a moment, kissing her in here was a lot different than kissing her in the pavilion back there... Nervousness got the better of him this time and he settled for letting his hand softly slide onto hers, and then hold it.

Reverie really hated that it wasn’t just her personality that made her antisocial. Both her power and disability made it impossible, or at least really, really, hard to socialize. And Damien? He seemed like the guy that thrived in the crowd, and spotlight. For him to like someone like her… It shouldn’t happen. And somehow? It had… She’d probably always feel bad for forcing him out of his element to be with her…
Anyway, all the thoughts in her head? Really starting to get to her. To the point where she looked a little woozy, like she might pass out at any given moment. And she might, if she had to endure that many thoughts for that long. Yeah, she definitely needed to get out of this crowd, and Damien, being the Prince Charming he was, instantly reacted to her distress, out to fix it.
The poor girl though. The place he lead her to had completely been overlooked as she struggled all the minds. Basically? All she knew, was he was leading her somewhere quiet. And right now, she didn’t care where that was. She was a little confused though when she was pulled into a boat though…. And after the doors opened? She finally figured out what she’d agreed to.
Oh…
Inside, it was definitely quieter. All the other thoughts slowly fading away, leaving on hers and Damien’s. Unintentionally, she let out a relieved sigh, even if they were in the most awkward ride EVER CREATED! Seriously, who invented the Tunnel of Love anyway? Looking around, she pulled a face. Well, this was…. Kind of… Well…. Honestly, she had no idea how to put it into words other then how Damien had summed it up. Sickening.
Hearing him speak, she quickly looked at him, that face gone in an instance and replaced with her own apologetic face. ”Ih wasnae yer fault…. Ah’m just sorry…. That…. Ye know….” How was she supposed to apologize for making it impossible for him to have fun at a Carnival..? She looked down, obviously upset with herself and this ridiculous power of hers. Hearing his urge to kiss her though, she suddenly looked back up, probably from surprise (When she’d get use to the idea of someone wanting to kiss her? Who knew.), before instantly blushing. After a moment, she smiled, feeling his hand once again on hers.

Reverie had been absolutely correct in her thinking. Damien was just that, a person that not only thrived in the spotlight, but had been in it his entire life. Now, don't mistake that for actually SEEKING the spotlight, no, it was just comething he was used to and comfortable with; as well as crowds. Being someone who always succeeded in everything they attempted sort of turned you into that person. However, he had absolutely no problem staying away from the crowds for Reverie. In fact, the fact that he couldn't hardly talk to her at the school made them being completely alone now, all the much sweeter.
Unfortunately, as much as he loved being totally alone with her right now, he wished it could be somewhere less... Well less... Love filled. Even though he really, really liked Reverie, a place like this would be awkward even if they were married! "It's fine, I wanted to be alone with you anyways to be honest..." Not sure why he added the "to be honest" part at the end, considering they both knew he couldn't lie, it seemed a little useless...
"Even if it is in a place as..." He looked around before letting out a chuckle, "Absolutely terrible as this, I'm sorry." He could barely talk from laughing at the situation, between the awkwardness and the hearts it was hard not to laugh. After a few moments he composed himself, "Sorry..." The broad smile slowly faded as he looked into those vibrant blue eyes of hers, though the small smirk never did.
After a few seconds, though it felt much longer, the urge to kiss her overcame him and without a word he leaned forward and pressed his lips onto hers; kissing her softly. Though unlike in the plaza, even after several minutes passed, he didn't stop, instead he let go of her hand and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her a little tighter into the kiss and praying that she didn't mind...

Reverie, for some reason, just couldn’t stop smiling, even if she did blush from time to time, as if it was physically impossible for her cheeks to ever return to their natural color. The whole ‘Tunnel of Love’ thing didn’t help either. Sure it wasn’t really… well, romantic (whoever had designed this place had been on a pretty small budget it seemed, and was probably lacking in creativity department.), but it was just….
Well, like before, he had a pretty good way of putting it. Absolutely terrible. Grinning at first, before laughing herself, she shook her head. ”Ah couldnae have said ih better masel’.” Rev managed to control her laughter quicker then him, but that grin remained glued to her lips. When she saw that look of his, it was almost like cold water had been dumped on her head, the girl suddenly back to reality. First thing she noticed? Just how close they were, and that, even if she wanted to (she didn’t), there wasn’t an escape… That really irritated her flight reaction. And it really shouldn’t! She was with the guy that she was starting to really, really, like! She LIKED being this close to him! …. Just not her escape route being cut off…
The second thing she noticed? The look he was giving her… And then finally his thoughts. Before she could blush for overhearing his urge to kiss her, his lips were already on hers. For half a second, like always, she was a little surprised, but quickly gave in. With only a small hesitation, she leaned into him and the kiss, softly and tenderly returning it. And when his arm when around her? She willingly leaned in even closer.

The "Tunnel of Love" theme was absolutely ridiculous, stupid even. Whoever thought this tunnel up was completely lacking on vision and seemed to think that if you threw enough of the color red, some hearts, and cupids together and put the couple alone on a boat that it would be romantic. Well it wasn't, it was just cheesy... The fact that he was feeling an insane urge to kiss his girlfriend right now was completely irrelevant...
Kiss her he did as well, feeling a tiny rush of nervousness as he felt her willingly lean in closer to his kiss. After several very long minutes, Damien still showed absolutely no sign of stopping, kissing her softly and tenderly (and a bit nervously) for as long as he could. Slowly, his other hand slid across her waist and stomach before resting on her hip, now holding her in a sort of hug as he slid closer so that there was no space between them, and continued his kissing even deeper.
Five, maybe ten minutes later he finally pulled away, breathing a little heavy. Though he pulled away from the kiss for air, his lips were still only a slight breath away from hers and he hadn't let her go, "I... I have to admit... I've never done this before with anyone..." What he meant was what they had done the other day in the tunnels, as well as what they were doing right now... Making out as it was apparently called, "But... I have been looking forward to... well... Being alone with you again ever since." He said a little nervously, his voice shaking slightly... Why did he have to be so nervous around her, it sucked! Either way, he couldn't stop his thoughts from slipping back to a desire to kiss her again... As well as the slightest hint of something more.

It was times like these, Reverie actually wished her motion blindness wasn’t limited to just things that were moving, and instead everything when she moved. Even as slow paced as it was, maybe, just maybe, she wouldn’t be able to see it. Wow, you knew it was bad when someone wished their already difficult disability was worse!
Even for being beyond cheesy and ridiculously put together, it seemed to have an affect on the two. Maybe that was the point though! It’d totally make sense! They designed the place to be this stupid specifically so couples had to focus on each other just to keep their sanity! Clever littler Carnival workers… Well, their plan worked, because since entering, the two had been making out most of the ride, which, for some reason was ridiculously long. How that worked out, she had absolutely no idea. They were moving…. Right?
When he pulled away, Reverie instantly felt a pang of longing. Dammit, why did he have to pull away?! The poor girl, the moment she realized she had that kind of thought though, flushed bright red. Great, she could even embarrass herself it seemed! After a moment though, she seemed to compose herself, just in time to hear him speak. ”Ah know.” A short pause, almost a hesitation, as her cheeks turned red once again. ”N-neither have ah….” She’d never even kissed a guy before Damien! Actually, she’d never had any interest in romance before him, because of…. Obvious reasons. Eavesdropping had it’s downsides, like ruin your interest in love in general.
His urge to kiss her was mutual, but the moment she caught the slightest hint of something else… She couldn’t help but blush even more.

____________________________________________________ It shouldn’t have been strange that the two would do…. It…. Again. They’d already done it once before and openly admitted they liked each other, and were technically a couple (even if they hadn’t openly admitted being ‘together’ together.).But the fact that they did it in a tunnel of love? That was the strange part… The two could be so awkwardly shy around each other, it made Reverie turn red with embarrassment when she even though about it. But so did the location of their first time…. What was it with them and tunnels, anyway?!
Dammit, now she was blushing again! She couldn’t help it. They’d just gone through with the whole act after all! And it’d taken her ten minutes to stop blushing that first time. Thankfully, it wasn’t nearly as bad as that time, and she managed to get the blushing down to a manageable level by the time the two were leaving the ride. And a few moments after that, her fair skin was back.
Outside, she flinched, able to hear the thoughts of the Carnival goers once again. It wasn’t that bad yet, she could barely hear them, but she instantly knew that too much closer and it’d get worse. So, trying to keep that from happening the girl resorted to the one trick that she hated using, focusing on Damien’s thoughts. When she focused on one specific person, it helped tune out the other voices in her head… As long as they were thinking about something. So, what she needed now, was something for him to think about that DIDN’T make her blush. ”Ah… Ah’ve been wonderin’… Ye never…. Told ma what yer power was…”

The fact that they had done it... again, even with a little bit more than last time made him feel a little dirty. It wasn't a very... gentlemanly act after all and most of it went against his nature. However, that wasn't to say he hadn't enjoyed it, quite the contrary actually. The fact that he had liked it so much was enough to make him blush a little as he stepped out of the boat with Reverie... Definitely his girlfriend now, he'd be quite the dog if he didn't stay with her after this... Not that he didn't want to though.
Buttoning up the last few buttons of his shirt, he glanced over at her to see the vivid red fading from her face. It seemed as though she had been thinking along the same lines as he was... Which immediately made him blush a little. Fortunately, she broke the awkward silence and immediately smiled a little, "I suppose I never did tell you." He said with a slight chuckle, trying to figure out how to explain it, "Well, it's a little hard to explain but..." He paused before they made their way out of the tunnel of the ride, and slid a hand into his pocket.
Pulling out a quarter he smiled slightly and flipped it into the air, "Heads..." The quarter landed in his hands and landed on heads, flipping it into the air once more "...Tails..." Catching it in his open palm, he had called it once again, tails. Looking straight in her vivid blue eyes, he winked slightly as he flipped it into the air and held out his hand without even looking away from her, "Tails again." The coin landed and he still didn't take his eyes off of her, but it seemed as though he had called it once again as the coin in his hand had landed on tails.
"It's not really something I can control but... I guess you could say good luck just follows me around." It was very hard to explain, he had never really figure it out completely, but that was the best he knew how to put it. He really couldn't do wrong with games of chance. He could've flipped the coin a hundred times and called it every time without even trying. "What about you? Is mind reading the extent of your powers?"

Reverie’s embarrassment was near gone now, her attention fully on the subject she’d brought up. Originally, it’d just been meant to break the awkward silence. Now? Her own curiosity had peaked. He never had told her what his power was. And so far? She hadn’t really seen anything to hint at it… Her guess had been something to do with people liking him. People just flocked to him. When she realized that that would mean her liking him being a part of his power though… She quickly tossed that idea aside.
The coin was a pretty good idea…. Especially considering Reverie couldn’t see it. So, at first? She honestly didn’t get it. At all. Every time the coin landed, she had to glance down quickly, to try and catch it before it flipped again, before looking back up to meet his gaze, her expression more confused than ever. For a moment, she thought he might be seeing the future, and calling it out as he saw it. But tuned into his thoughts like she was? It really was random. He just called out whichever came to mind first. Okay, she was more than a little confused now.
Finally though… He explained it…. And she still looked horribly confused and lost. Luck could be a power..? Well, mutant powers could be pretty crazy, but she’d never heard of someone’s power being good luck before! No wonder he was good at everything he did… After a few moments, she chuckled softly. It was absolutely fitting… She didn’t know why, it just… was. When the conversation turned to her power, paused for a moment, before sighing and shrugging, stuffing her hands in her pockets. After another moment she nodded. ”Ah’m not that much of a telepath. All ah can do is listen in.”

As Damien had demonstrated his power, it had completely slipped his mind for a moment about her motion blindness. Thankfully, the coin had stayed in his hand long enough that she would have at least been able to see that he actually was calling it out. As soon as the confused expression, it was like a shot from a gun waking him up. Why had he been so dumb as to forget? How rude could he possibly be? "I'm sorry, that probably wasn't the best way to show it..." Damien felt absolutely horrible for forgetting about her handicap.
Still with a tinge of apology in his voice, he tried to move on past his rude mistake, "So... Are there different degrees of telepathy? Because I think being able to listen to peoples thoughts would be pretty amazing." Definitely a power that could be misused in the wrong hands, but be an instrument for justice in the right ones... Like most powers come to think of it.
As they stepped out of the tunnel on the ride, Damien immediately stopped. All the lights of the carnival were turned off except for a few here and there, likely for the workers moving around. The crowds of people were gone but shadows could be seen moving to and fro among the tents, once again, most likely the workers... Great! How long had they been hiding inside that ride... engaging in extracurricular activites? Damien reached out and grabbed Reverie's hand, a bad feeling immediately filling up his gut like sour milk as he slowly stepped into the darkness of the forgotten carnival.

Reverie couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. ”Ih’s okay. Ah’m used ta ih.” She honestly was. It was easy to forget that she couldn’t see movement. Probably because people didn’t seem to realize what counted and what didn’t. Honestly, there were a lot of things you wouldn’t think about that she couldn’t see. People simply walking. Running water. A camp fire. Basically, she lived in a photographic world. Except the shutter wasn’t fast enough to still movement.
With the topic change, she smiled a little, nodding. ”Ah havenae met ta many variations, but ah’ve heard of some.” She paused for a moment before continuing, so she could think. ”Like… a wirer. Ah heard they cannae do big mind control’in, but they make permanent lil’ changes ta affect yer whole behavior.” Another pause. ” Ah can only read surface thoughts. But some can… well dig. They can find whatever they want in yer head, even if ye havenae thought aboot ih in years. As long as ih’s there, they can find ih.” Yet another pause. ”And ye already know aboot regular mind controllers…” She refrained herself from mentioning that unless they had another power, most telepaths could manipulate another’s mind to a point. So when Reverie said she wasn’t much of one…. She wasn’t joking.
Damien’s sudden tensing seriously, SERIOUSLY freaked her out. Even worse when she read that feeling he was getting. He was the type of guy that should always trust his instinct, because he was usually right. So, when he got a bad feeling? Well, she didn’t question it. Squeezing his hand reassuringly, not that she wasn’t freaked out, she stayed close to him as he moved. ”Ah think… We should go….” She hoped, and prayed, that he was just trying to scare her, and not actually be on guard…
