A nightmare. He never had any pleasant dreams anymore. He kept dreaming of the day he had to kill yet another woman he cared for. Putting Mariko out of her misery from the poison was one day he wouldn't forget. Stabbing Jean to save her from herself would be another. He had been having the same nightmare the last few weeks where they were both there, having untold things haoppening to them that he could do nothing about. "Why couldn't you save us Logan-san?" He woke up with cold sweats and shakes.
So he would change into his jean sorts and white beater and head down to the dangeroom to work out some aggression. He has been trying to stay busy and out of the mansion lately. After working out, he would head down to the lab and sit. Thinking about the day he 'saved' Jean. Sometimes Hank woulkd be here poking through his test tubes and commenting. He didn't mind the blue furball. He was a good listener after all and understood some of the animalistic urges he had. So deep in thought, he barely heard the door open, but he figured it would be hank. He could picture her in his arms so vividly, her scent filled his nose and he could hear her call his name. He blinked away the tears as his hand came to cover his eyes. "I can still hear Jeany Hank, like she was still here." He took in a deep breath. "Is she gonna haunt me like Mariko?" Why wasn't he saying anything? Better yet, why couldn't he smell hank and why hadn't that smell gone away? He turned slowly around in the chair and his hand moved to cover his mouth for a moment, his eyes shutting against the image. Was she really there? His eyes blinked open and she was still there. "Jeany?" His voice was a little raspy and shaky. "Is that really you 'r have I snapped?" He couldn't believe it!

Henry was happy as could be. A large tray of test tubes in his clawed blue hands as he walked down the corridor. Fresh new test tubes to work on his new experiment. He was looking forward to it. It would take hours...maybe even days for the liquids in these new test tubes to yield any results so he couldn't wait to get started.
With the way the underground rooms were built poor Hank had no idea what he was walking into as he stepped into the lab. First he saw Logan, not unusual, but the look on his face was. Eyes glanced over to see Jean. Now that was unusual. "Oh dear..." But that was enough to sent the Beast on his way.
He barely even stopped before he turned about an headed out of the room. When the door slid shut behind him, he took that moment to rationalize what he had just seen. Jean was back? Well she had returned to them once again. That was a lot like her. Silly how such a sweet woman could be so...unpredictable. Probably was what made her so charming. Hank sighed slightly and shook his head.
Oh well...guess he will just have to move his experiment up to the science lab.

Jean looked at Logan sitting there. His face was in complete shock. Apparently no one had told him that she was back. Why hadn't they told him? She remembered the last time that she had seen him. His face was covered in tears as his claws ripped through her stomach. She had been so happy that he had saved her. The phoenix had gotten out of control and dying was the only way to stop it. Logan had been her savior.
She walked over to him, forgetting about the short shirt she wore that exposed the three thin scars on her stomach where everyone could see. He asked if she was really there. She had been asking herself that ever since she came back. How she can back she still didn't know. But to her it all seemed to be just a dream and not reality but it was.
"It's me, Logan. You've always been a little loose in the head but you haven't snapped....not yet anyways."
She tried to joke with him as she cracked a smile but she knew that it would take a minute for him to get over the shock of her actually being there. She didn't realize how much she had missed him. But now that he was here in front of her new emotions were coming up. They were new to her but she knew that she had always had them just didn't want to admit it. It didn't help that she was married. Now that she was divorced things could be different.

Logan couldn't belkieve his eyes. She was standing right there in front of him! There was Red just staring at him with those eyes, looking at him like everything was normal. As she crossed to him, speaking in a joking way, he blinked back his tears as a million questions flooded his mind. How had she survived? When did she return? Why hadn't anyone told him? Was she really there? His mind was distracted as Hank entered the room for a moment, causing him to look his way. Typical Hank, always popping in when least expected. Then again, the same could be said about him. He was relieved that Hank turned around to leave again. The last thing he needed was another distraction.
He turned his gaze to the woman before him, taking in the sight of her. She seemed somewhat relaxed in her night clothes but his ears could pick up her heartbeat. Oh yes she was real and it seemed to be pumping a little harder. He hadn't seen scott around but usually where Red went, he wasn't too close behind her. Another deep breath brought her scent to his attention. Oh how he had missed that familiar scent. Though he knew that where there was fire, he was bound to be burned. Good thing he had a healing factor.
"What brings ya down here Red? I'm glad ta see ya." She was so close now. He. could just reach out and touch her. His eyes scanned down her body, she seemed to be in one piece. Though on the way back up, he noticed the scars poking out from under her skin. A constant reminder of what he had done to her. Then he did something he normally wouldn't do. He reached out to pull her into a long hug, wanting to make sure that she was indeed here.
"I'm sorry red, if there had been any other way..I..." He just needed her to understand. He realized he was holding her too much and he released her, turning away for a moment. Calm down.

Jean was surprised when he embraced her but she gladly wrapped her arms around him. His body was warm but she could feel how shaken up he was from seeing her. She realized how good his body felt. She wanted to stay there for a long time but he pulled away. His words fell on her like ice. He didn't understand. She had wanted to die. There was no other way to kill the Phoenix. If he hadn't of killed her then she surely would have killed all of them.
She ran her fingers through her long red hair. She was thinking about cutting it again. But now wasn't the time to think about that/ She smiled and grabbed Logan's hand. It was rough from the many years of fighting but it was still warm. She liked it. She found humor in this moment. If it was before she had died then she would have never been this close to Logan. Scott would have been there and she would have been loyal to him. But now that they were divorced she could freely express her hidden feelings for Logan. But did he still feel the same way about her?
"Logan, you have no idea how much that meant to me. You saved me from myself. No one else could do that. I'm back now. Things have changed. Let's live for now and not in the past."

Logan took in a deep breath to steady himself. She took his hand, surprising him. This was not like her. She normally would just flirt and leave him alone with the thoughts she couldn't read. Her words seemed to echo his thoughts though. He had known it was the only way to save her and he would do it again if it meant bringing her peace but he hated when it always had to come to it. Would he be forced to always see the ones he loved die? Probably. But did that mean he should shut down and live alone? Not yet.
He turned to face her again, his free hand coming up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "I know ya did Jean. I just hate hurtin' the ones I care about the most." He placed a kiss on her forehead and smirked. "Though you 're right. We should be enjoying life now with the people we know while we can. Life is too unpredictable." Don't he know it. Too many people he loved had been taken from him too soon. Manly in the prime of his happiness and mostly over foolish pride. His past haunted him far too much to let people get too close to him. He had lost Jean too many times yet everytime she came back to him, only to return to scott's waiting arms. It was madness to want something that is forever just outside your grasp. To be the rebound between two people who always seem to fit together so well.
"I am thankful that you are here again Red. I've missed you."
He pulled her into another hug, just enjoying the feel of her next to him. Her small frame easily melding against his. He just wanted a moment to relax. She could pull away if she wanted to. He wouldn't stop her. That familiar scent was a blessing to his senses and he closed his eyes just to hold this moment.

She wrapped her arms around his waist as he embraced her again. She inhaled his musky smell. His arms enveloped her making her feel small but she didn't mind. She loved the feeling of him holding her. It came to her mind that he didn't know about her divorce. No one really knew. She had just come back from signing the papers. She had yet to tell anyone. Maybe Logan should be the first one to know anyways.
But right now she was just enjoying him holding her. She could feel his heart beating rapidly against his chest. His voice echoed inside his chest and made it vibrate when he talked. She didn't mind that she was scantily dressed at the moment. She looked up at him and smiled the smile she knew melted his heart. Before she would have just flirted with him but now there were so many opportunities open to her now that she was single. She was going to take them too. Jean was a different person now that she had comeback. Something had changed in her but she wasn't complaining. She liked the change.
"Scott's hugs never felt this good. But my time with him is over now. Just signed the papers today."

Logan could feel her lither arms around his waist. She had never let him hold her this long. A brief hug, a flirtatious smile, and a casual brush against him was what he was used to. There was something different about her. Something had changed but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. She seemed more open, more free spirited. Maybe her brush with death clipped some of those chains away? He looked down just as she smiled that infamous smile. The one she gets when she was thinking something naughty or was about to say something he might not like.
Her words though caused a slight pause to his breath. Was she serious or was she joking? This was a little sudden. First she comes back to life and then she says there was no hope for her and scott? Was the eagle scout too stiff for her now? Why was she telling him this all of a sudden? Was she giving him hope or teasing him?
"Jean yer not just pullin' my leg 're ya? You and scott are done? Today?" He pulled back a little, to look at her. She was smiling but he had seen this before. They always seem to patch things up. "Why?" It was a simple thing. Here she was, safe in his arms practically telling him she was single and ready to do god knows what. He judst didn't want to be the rebound. Could she handle his coming and going? Could she deal with his past? She could take care of herself, he knew this very well but there were many things she still didn't know about him. A great many things and he didn't know what she would do if she found out.

"No, Logan I'm not kidding. We signed the divorce papers today. I just don't feel like he knows me anymore. It just wasn't working."
She looked at him. He was shocked and he had a right to be. Jean and Scott had been married for quite sometime now and when they fought they always made their way back to one another. But this time it wasn't a fight. It was just reality. Yes jean loved Scott but she wasn't in love with him. She thought she was but she wasn't. She didn't know if she was in love with anyone. But it was a mutual agreement for them to divorce. Now she was free to do whatever she wished.
She walked over to the table with all of the testing equipment. She remembered the first time she had met Logan here. She had been looking him over for injuries but there had been none to find. Her hand ran over the small test tubes as she recounted all of the days spent with Logan. The flirt comments and the many rejections from her. She turned back and looked at him standing there. Why had she rejected him?

Logan couldn't believe his luck. Here was the girl he cared for alive and well, with a new lease on life, and single to boot. It seemed so nicely wrapped up but there had to be a catch somewhere right? Why was he over analizing this? She was standing right in front of him looking at those test tubes in barely anything. Those long toned legs starting at her barefeet, stretching up forever til they disappear into those shorts. He was definetly attracted to the woman. The way she leaned over just enough to hint at the arch of her back and her short tank. Even the smell of her gives him comfort. Why was he questioning her when he should be comforting her?
"I'm sorry Jean....but he didn't deserve ya anyways. Never knew no fun an' was stiff as a board but he loved ya an' it was enough fer a while I guess."
Logan gave a shrug and looked her up and down again. "I'd be lyin' if i said I wish it ain't so. Any man would be lucky ta get you red. Even if it was only a little while." He gave her a wink as he leaned back against the table. God he wanted to kiss her. Logan lookred over her again and let that devilish smirk cross his face. "There is one thing I've been wantin' ta do darlin'..." He pushed off the table and crossed the floor to where she stood. Finding her eyes with his, they locked as he brought his hands up to gently cup her face before he bent down to kiss her. She could easily avoid it by ducking under and going around if she wanted. He was hoping that she wouldn't...

Jean was caught off guard by the kiss. He crossed the room so swiftly and had taken her face in his hands. That was Logan for you. Always doing something unexpected. She felt his lips on hers and her first instinct was to pull away. That had been her instinct for so long but then she remembered that she was single. She gave into the kiss. Her arms wrapped around his neck and her lips matched his. Her heart beat a million miles a minute as the kiss lengthened. She kissed him back passionately.
When the kiss finally ended she had to catch her breath. Her heart was still beating wildly like an over excited rabbit. He had been wanting to do that for quite some time he said but what he didn't know was that she had been wanting the same. She finally was starting to realize her feelings for the man in front of her. All of the flirting and small glances. Had added up to this moment. She knew that she was playing with fire and she knew that Logan was a dangerous man but she didn't care at that moment. She just wanted him. Her hands reached up to frame his face as she kissed him again.
"You have no idea how long I have wanted that."

Logan felt her lips against his and to his surprise she hadn't pulled back. In fact she had kissed him back with such an intensity. He liked the fire within her. He could see it before but she always stifled it for her own reasons. She was never this forward before...he had to admit that he liked it. Her hnds felt good wrapped aroubnd his waist as that kiss ended, but the felt even better on his scruffy face as she kissed him this time. Why was he thinking so much when she was being so true this time.
He could hear her heart racing in her chest, her fingers were soft and warm. She had been wanting this too? Well that was good to know. His hands drifted down to her waist, his eyes still fixed on her. Yeah normally he would pounce on her right now and do everythoing to her that she would let him do but this was Jean. He couldn't just be rough with her the first time. Just the smell of her could make his blood boil. He leaned down to her ear.
"Ya sure you wanna go down this road tonight red?" He gave her ear just a small nip but hung close to her, listening for her response

"You're the one I've always wanted, Logan. I just never realized it until now."
Jean whispered in Logan's ear. She felt his hot breath on her as he nipped it. It sent shivers down her spine. She pulled him closer to her. She wanted to feel his strong muscles against her small body. She had to admit that her body fit well into his his. She kissed his cheek then brushed a kiss on his neck. Jean knew that Logan had wanted this for so long but he could never have it. Her marriage with Scott had prevented that.
Her fingers went to his hair a pulled him down for another kiss. She wanted the animal tonight not the protective, kind man she knew him to be. The Phoenix was fast asleep in her mind this was all Jean talking. She knew it would surprise him but she was a changed woman. Death can do that to you. Death can do that to anyone. She was living for the moment and she wasn't about to let this moment pass her by like it had so many times before. She was holding onto it as hard as she could. He was her's tonight.

Logan had been waiting to hear those words from her lips for a long time. She just broke down his last wall of resistance. If she wanted him right now, she was going to get him. He was going to take it slow and easy on her, but she decided to pull him into a rough kiss and that got him heated even more. He bent down and picked her light form up, setting her on the infirmery table. His lips went down to her neck as his rough hands went to explore her body. Hadn't they tried this before? It was then he noticed the hicky on her neck. Seemed like Scott had had one last failed time to keep her. Oh well, he would just have to claim the other side, which he did, leaving a mark of his own.
He slipped his on shirt off before claiming her mouth in another passionate kiss. The more he was holding her, the more he was giving in. Though he was feeling smaller scratches, the more his hands explored. Seems like Jean was getting into the rough stuff, but he knew his stamina could make them go all night til she passed out. He didn't want to limit it to just here either, maybe getting dressed just long enough to make it down the hall or into each of their rooms or even the danger room. He didn't care, he had his hands on her right now and he was going to enjoy every minute.
His breathing was getting deeper and his mind was getting more foggy. He didn't want to loose control of himself, give her a good time but not go completely animalistic, he didn't want to hurt her again...not until he knew she was ready for that. His fingers raked against her back before they slipped down to the edges of her shirt. They wanted to pull it off but instead slipped up underneath them. He let out a growl as he nipped her lip playfully. God she was beautiful.
