Phoenix watched him and felt his hand on her hip but that was the end of that. He didn't kiss her back with the passion she thought he would and his claws didn't even prick her skin. She was disappointed but she had no one to blame for it but herself. She had pushed him away in a fit of anger for no reason. She should have known that he would know that it was her. She should know that he would know her anywhere no matter what body she was in but for some reason she didn't for that split second and she regretted it. But she couldn't take it back now. She smiled at him as he said she had no faith in him. She didn't at that moment but she really did have faith in him. She had all the faith in the world. Running her hand through her hair she let him walk away from her again and grab some papers.
She hoped that some of those papers had information on them about Hank McCoy. She knew that Victor would find him eventually but she wanted to find him now. She wanted to make him pay for what he had done to their daughter. There should be a newborn infant sleeping in the next room right now. Curled up in blankets and in the beautiful crib that Victor had made for her. But no, now there was a girl around the age of eight sleeping in there. She made a note to ask Victor if he could turn the crib into a bed for her so they could still have it. Looking up after awhile she heard his question. The blonde woman sat on the edge of the table his beer was on and shrugged.
"She's still confused. She hasn't said a word yet. I don't think she knows how to but she's been talking to me through her mind. Mostly just pictures and emotions. She's been wondering about you. Where you went, why you didn't come home, why you didn't come and see her. She's smart, Victor, and strong."
