Phoenix stared at him for a second. He was acting all complacent and just standing there. She had honestly expected him to lash out at her for having a tantrum like this but maybe he was used to it now. Maybe things had changed more than she thought between them. The blonde woman stared at him and stormed out of the room. She knew this place pretty well by now. They had spent so much time here recently she could navigate it almost with her eyes closed without taking a wrong turn. She had done nothing but wander around the place when they first got here. Victor didn't let her leave for the first week when they had come here saying he didn't want to save her ass if she got caught.
Phoenix stormed into the main kitchen and went straight for the huge refrigerator that was on one of the walls. She ripped the door open and started to rummage around looking for pickles. Her stomach growled as she thought about them. Why all of a sudden did she want pickles? She didn't even really like them but right now it was all she wanted to eat. Her eyes lit up as she saw a jar of them in the back. She reached back and grabbed it and carried the jar back to the room. She walked in with the jar in hand and sat down cross legged in the middle of the bed with the jar in her lap. She didn't even look up at Victor as she unscrewed the top and grabbed a pickle with her fingers and took a bite. It tasted amazing. It was one of the few things in the past weeks that didn't make her want to hurl.
She finally looked up at Victor. She studied him for a second. She knew she probably looked like a little kid just sitting there eating pickles in the middle of the bed. But she didn't care. She was hungry. As she looked at him she got annoyed again. She didn't even know why he was annoying her but he was. Just standing there not doing anything make her want to scream. She was in an all out bad mood right now and he wasn't helping it any. The cute and loving moment they had had only minutes earlier was gone and forgotten. She glared at him after a second and growled.
"Can you do something other than just stand there?!"

He could do a lot of things instead of stand there. He could take her jar of pickles and throw it against the wall. He could slice her to shreds and that thing in her stomach. He narrowed his eyes at her. Now she was basically kicking him out of his own room? Well not in so many words but it was enough to raise a growl out of his throat. She was working on his last nerve. His fingers twitched slightly as he walked into the bathroom. He needed to get away from her and he was half tempted to get into the shower again to burn his skin for another fifteen minutes.
He stared at himself in the mirror for a long moment. What was going on? What was this woman doing to him? Things were far simplier before. He moved his hands down to grip the sink before him, his frustration causing him to hold onto it so tightly that the porcelin actually cracked. Another growl slipped from him as he suppressed himself from just ripping the sink out of the floor itself.
He finally let out a little huff of frustration and let his hands move away from the sink finally. He had to get out of here....before he did do something he would regret. If he even regetted it.

Phoenix watched him leave. His hand was twitching before he left and she just scoffed at it. She hadn't really tried to kick him out but she just wished he wouldn't just stand there and stare off into space like he was or seemed to be. She had struck a nerve though and she knew she had. but right now the blonde pregnant woman didn't care. She just didn't care at all. At least he had left and wasn't just standing there doing nothing.
Another pickle was plopped into her mouth as she looked away from the door to the bathroom where Victor had disappeared. Her one hand stuck in the jar of pickles, pulling them out and plopping them into her mouth. The other hand absentmindedly on her stomach. She felt like she had a weird connection. like she could almost sense thoughts but they weren't fully formed thoughts. More like emotions. Maybe it was the baby but she shook her head and pushed the thought away. It couldn't be.
A loud crack resonated through the room. Phoenix had been so lost in her thoughts about the baby and pickles it made her jump out of her skin. She screwed the lid back onto the pickles and set the jar on the flood next to their bed. What the hell had that been? It had come from the bathroom. The door was still open and she walked over to peer inside. Victor was standing there and the bathroom counter was cracked. Clear imprints from his hands were visible on either side of the counter.
"What the hell did you do now?! Seriously, Victor?"

Victor's brow twitched when he heard her voice behind him. She moved? She was behind him? Why didn't she just stay on the bed with that damned jar of pickles? He growled again, this time with more anger than actual irritation. He turned around and looked at her. His eyes were cold and trained straight upon her. "What's it matter what I'm doing Phoenix?" He growled again as he took a few steps towards her. He towered over her for a moment while his eyes stared down at her.
"Get out of my way before you regret standing there." He gave her the choice. She could either stand there and be removed or she could remove herself. That was more warning than he ever usually gave anyone. But he didn't wait that long for her to move either. She had her chance and he was going to make her move for him. He reached out and grabbed her neck, his grip was tight enough to give him the leverage to pick her up and walk with her into the other room. Once they were in that room he threw her towards that bed. At least now she was out of his way.

'Because you broke the damned sink that's why!"
Phoenix stared at him as he glared at her. She had heard the growl and it sounded different. He wasn't just irritated anymore. He was angry. She might have pushed his buttons a little too far this time but she didn't even realize it. Her mind was so clouded with emotions and hormones she didn't know what she was doing half the time. She didn't even realize that she was making him mad.
She stood her ground as he told her to move and apparently that was the wrong thing to do. His hand was around her throat in a matter of seconds. It cut off her air supply slightly and she couldn't take in a breathe. Her eyes widened and she felt his claws dig into her. The claws she usually loved digging into her skin stung more now. Her stomach jumped as he lifted her off the ground and carried her into the other room.
Her body hit the bed harder than she had expected. the wind was knocked out of her and she gasped for breathe. Phoenix sat there for a second just trying to breathe. Then her eyes flicked up to Victor as she stood up and faced him. She wasn't in the mood to back down right now. If she was in her right mind she would know not to push him any farther but she wasn't in her right mind right now. It was far from being right.
"I am not a rag doll you can just throw around, Victor!! What the hell were you thinking? If you had hurt the baby I swear to god! I would have ripped your head off right here and now!"

She really didn't know when to shut up did she? She should have just sat on that bed and remained quiet. Just for a minute. Just long enough for him to leave and calm down. But no she had to come back into his face and yell at him. And about the baby too? So what if he hurt the damned kid? It was easy enough to make more. And if it was his kid something like that shouldn't hurt it. That was of course if it inherited his healing factor...but that was neither here nor there.
"You should have gotten out of my way." He growled at her again this time with more ferocity. He closed the distance between them in moments, this time he grabbed her arm and yanked it away from her body just enough to knock her off balance and back onto the bed. He used the weight of his body to press her down onto that bed and to keep her there. "Maybe you have the right idea." He smirked down at her, a sinister and dark smirk. "Get rid of the brat and maybe you'll come to your damned senses." She had met this side of him once before...she woke up the animal and nothing ever comes good of that. The hand that had her arm moved for her other hand, raising and pinning both of her wrists above her head. Meanwhile his other hand moved down to her stomach with claws intent on solving his problem right then and there.

Her weight was knocked out from under her as he moved in fast and knocked her off balance. She barely had time to catch her breathe before he was on top of her. Her blonde hair fell behind her in a cascade. Her eyes looking at his. Any normal night she would have smirked and claimed his lips as she let him rip her clothes off of her but tonight wasn't one of those night she could see that in his eyes. It was the look of the animal. The animal she had met before. She loved that animal but he was scaring her right now.
Her arm was pinned above her head and she felt his hand move to grab her other wrist to pin it there as well. his weight pressed down against her and pinned her to the bed. She couldn't move no matter what she did. He was too heavy and way too strong for her right now. What had she gotten herself into? Why couldn't she just learn to leave him alone? Her eyes widened in horror as she heard him speak. Not the baby. No. Not her baby....their baby. Her eyes flicked down to watch his claws move towards her stomach. there was nothing she could do now. tears started running down her face in the split second she had to think about it. She didn't want to lose her baby.
"Victor! Please, don't!"
She was begging him. Never in her life had she begged for anything. He knew that better than anyone. But right now she was begging. She was begging for the life of her child. Her eyes searched his and then they returned back to his claws as she felt a pressure against her womb. What she thought was the numbed pain was just nothing. His claws had stopped just an inch above her stomach. She could see him trying to push his claws further but it was like there was a cocoon around her womb. She stared at it shocked. Their baby was a mutant. It was protecting itself. Then she felt the powers seeping through her body again. It wasn't the every once in awhile powers she felt when she was angry. These were her old powers. These were her powers that were stronger than Victor was. She looked back at him and pushed him off of her and into a wall. She stood up and laid a hand on her stomach as she looked at him. A snarl was on her lips as she spoke.
"Try that again and I will kill you. I promise you that. Nothing is going to keep this baby from being born....not even you."

That was a shock to his senses, seeing her plead with him and even cry. He had never seen her cry before. Not that he ever wanted to care if she cried or not but it had effected him. Unfortunately for her the beast in him was already working his hand into her stomach.
What? He had attempted to sink his claws into her stomach, intent on ripping that child out of her very womb. And then his hand wasn't moving. Even using all of his strength he couldn't even penetrate her skin! The animal in him was furious. But before he could act upon that fury he found himself into the wall. He hadn't felt that kind of power from her in a long time. It made him proud of her and irritated all at the same time. Especially when he hit the ground from her little throwing fit. He looked at her as she practically threatened him. The thought made him want to rip her to pieces even more. How dare she threaten him like that! He rose up to his feet and growled at her.
"Try that again and no one will be able to save you." He snarled at her before he left the room. He couldn't stand to even look at her anymore. If he stayed there any longer he was going to try to kill her right there...and it wouldn't end well for him. While he knew that she was stronger than him he wasn't going to allow her to have that kind of power over him.

New Chapter: The Decent Victor lightly tapped his claws on the console before him. He had been attempting to think of what their next course of action was going to be and the tactician in him was...dormant. Perhaps it was the woman in his life that was detering his mind from the goals of a human controlled world. Phoenix was acting more oddly as the days passed it seemed. It was distracting and oddly wonderful at the same time. He couldn't help but wonder what creature would finally emerge from her, whether it be a boy or girl. Idle thoughts of holding it in his arms wandered through his mind now and then. Damn that woman! For someone that was as heartless as he could be she certainly knew how to pry the human emotions out of him. Or perhaps Xavier was right all along.
Irritation had been enough to push himself up from that chair and leave the room. He needed to get away perhaps. Away from her away from the base. Eventually he found himself back at his quarters or perhaps it really was their quarters..in the long run. In a pregnant nesting fit she had already rearranged everything in the room...thankfully she had left the bed alone, so he wasn't doomed to sleep with some sort of grotesque flower pattern. He may have even refused to sleep in such a bed.

Phoenix had woken up running to the bathroom to expel the contents of her stomach. This morning sickness was getting to her. She had not been in a good mood after that and without even saying goodbye to Victor, not like it would have mattered, she walked out of his quarters and off to do some more shopping. She had been shopping more and more and it seemed like she was always coming back with some sort of bag filled with something she thought that she needed. She had more recently been rearranging Victor's quarters to make it seem more comfortable. She had yet to find the right comforter though for the bed so she had left that alone for now.
The blonde woman walked along the streets and soon she found herself in a high end store and was surrounded by baby stuff. She looked around and figured while she was here she might as well by some things for the baby. It had been moving more and more and Phoenix could feel its mind getting stronger by the day. Sometimes it would kick so hard she would gasp out and wince with pain. She had a feeling that it had inherited some of Victor's powers due from the sheer strength of it's movements.
Once her arms were filled with bags once more she headed back to see what Victor was up to. She had never relied on anyone before and had never stayed with someone this long and more and more of her human emotions were coming out of her. She couldn't wait for the day that their baby was born and hold it in her arms. To see Victor holding it as well. She had been in their room unpacking the bags she had acquired, a small baby skirt was in her hands and she was admiring it. She didn't know why but she had a feeling that the baby was a girl. She hadn't been to a doctor at all since there weren't many doctors for mutants and none she would trust. But it's mind felt more feminine to her. She looked up as she saw Victor enter the room. Her mind was in full baby mode right now. She looked back at the things she had bought.
"Victor, where are we putting the crib? We can't all live in this room together."

Victor blinked a bit as he was assaulted with the question as he walked into the room. He had to suppress the snarl he wanted to give her in reaction to that question. "And you'd rather it live out in the hall?" His comment was meant more sarcastically than anything else. "I thought mothers liked their offspring to be close to them." He assumed that the crib wouldn't have been far from their bed, so why did they have to think about where the child would sleep so soon? Once it was old enough certainly another room down the corridor wouldn't be that hard of a decision to make. It wasn't like there was a room shortage at the base.
He walked passed her towards the kitchen suddenly feeling that a beer was going to be needed if she was going to continue to badger him. Once he had the beer in hand and opened he returned to the room to look at her. "If you wish for a...what do they call it...a nursery? Then use the next quarters down for it." Did she really need to talk to him about this? It was bad enough he was letting her move things around...or infact moving them for her since he was quite stronger.

She rolled her eyes at him and shook her head as he mentioned the hallway. She had a small smile on her face. For the first time in awhile she was in a pleasant mood. She didn't want to tear his head off like she usually did and everything he said didn't make her skin tingle with annoyance. The blonde mutant continued to unpak the baby clothes and fold them neatly. She had bought a lot of things and she had even picked out a crib and paid for it. She was just waiting for it to be delivered since she couldn't get it here.
"I would like a nursery because even if i did want the baby in here I don't feel like dealing with your temper when it wakes you up in the middle of the night crying in the same room as you. I'd rather it be safe in another room. Oh and I'm having a crib delivered here tomorrow. I need you to put it together."
Phoenix sat down on the bed and picked up a stuffed animal she had bout. It was a small, plush sabretooth cat. It had reminded her of Victor and she thought it appropriate to buy their baby something that would make it think of it's father. The plush seemed like the perfect thing to buy. Movement was now accuring in her swollen stomach. She winced as the baby kicked out hard against her ribs. Pain settled into her muscles.
"It's getting stronger. I think it's taking after you."

Victor highly doubted the kid would wake him up....then again with his acute hearing that could be very annoying very fast. So he supposed that she was thinking more wisely than he really gave her credit for. Though her wanting a nursery wasn't that big of a deal, she roamed around like she owned the place he was surprised that she hadn't already taken the room she wanted for the child.
He arched a brow at her as she mentioned that he would have to put the crib together. Who did she think he was? An assembler? Hmph. He already started to think of whom at the base he could con into doing it for him.
He hadn't really noticed the clothes that she had bought or the fact that she was buying more feminine clothes than generic. He wandered over to see the stuffed animal that she had been looking at and smirked slightly. Though that smirk faded slightly as he watched her wince from what he assumed was a kick from her comment. "Strange that the child would show such powers already." He didn't like that. It was something that could create more problems than good...all depending. But something like that didn't usually bring good tidings.

She noticed the arched eyebrow he gave her as she mentioned putting together a crib for the baby. Well, did he expect her to put it together herself? he should know better than that. She hadn't even arranged their room by herself she had made him do it for her. Even before she was pregnant she had made him do things for her. She really was lazy sometimes and she thought that she should be pampered like the queen that she was.
"I need someone to put the crib together then!"
She leaned back on the bed stretching her back out trying to rid her body of the pain. He was right it was strange for the baby to be showing this much power this soon. It would have been fine if maybe after a year or two after it was born it started showing these powers but it wasn't even here yet and it was already hurting her. It scared her a little but more so she was proud. Maybe this child would really be the ones to show the humans who was boss once and for all. She smiled up at Victor.
"Thats a good thing though. Isn't it? Victor....I think it's a girl. I don't know how I know but. It just feels like a girl."

Yes it was a good thing that their child would be powerful. But something still didn't seem right to him. For now though, he wouldn't say anything and simply sit down next to her as she laid out upon the bed.
A girl? Well there went his thought of having a boy he could teach to do...well manly things. Now he was stuck with what? Pink ponies, frills and tea parties? The idea made his stomach turn but that was the luck of the draw wasn't it? He turned slightly so that he could face her and rest his hand upon her rounded stomach. He was far from being angry so that touch was indeed gentle and non-threatening. "Girl or boy, our child will be a force to be feared." That confident smirk of his returned.
This woman drove him insane. He felt like his emotions and actions changed constantly and it was all her fault. Of course, he had just gone and brought her back to him. He had the chance to have gotten rid of them both but he had wanted her here. Wanted to be there for her and their child. It was something he never would have thought to do before but here he was contradicting himself.
