Merfonde's eyes rolled at the comment, though she didn't offer any witty comeback to it. Otherwise... Well they just be at this all day. The second though, well she couldn't exactly resist it. "Exactly."
She was fast, she knew that, maybe not in the long run, but her smaller frame made her much more agile then her bigger opponent. The bullet had missed by well over a foot, but even a regular person would go wide eyed. Merfonde didn't, she just watched him with that cold, calculating stare, a smirk dancing on her lips. Oh how she wanted to insult his marksmanship...
Almost casually she retrieved her own dagger from the ground, her gaze never leaving him. The score was tied, one for each of them. Now it seemed the next point would depend on blade skills. She wasn't worried. "Why must you men always say that?" They really did. Why did they feel the need to tell her that they wouldn't, or would try not to, cut her face? Men were such sexist pigs... "Because I have no problem cutting your face." She really didn't. Besides, she kind of wanted to, just to get rid of those annoying sunglasses he was wearing. Secret service much?
He attacked then, and Merfonde was ready. She jerked back to avoid the attacks on her chest. This guy was faster then she'd thought, but that wasn't a problem, not until he started moving faster then her. Avoiding the blades, she brought a foot up and out to slam into his own chest. Oh yes, retrieving the dagger didn't mean she had any desire to use it. After all. All is fair in love and war....

Johnny smirked at her comment, so she had a sharp tongue to back up her sharp blade? Finally, someone that he was going to kill that knew how to banter while fighting. It got very annoying when every person you fought was simply "kill, kill, kill". It was nice to occasionally come across someone that knew how to mix style in with their combat. While he was still going to have to kill her, he admired her for that. It wouldn't save her though.
There wasn't much surprise when she dodged his attack, part of him hoped he would kill her but knew that she would avoid it. When she brought up her foot to kick him, Johnny kept his momentum going and pivoted on his foot, bending backwards as he did so. When he had fully rotated, his back was now facing the woman, and he had bent backwards underneath her leg so that he was looking up at it.
Letting his arms follow the motion of his body, one arm swung out, slashing at the only leg the woman was standing on. With his other arm, he placed the forearm against the leg above him to keep her from bringing it down on him as he followed through with the back bend and came back to a standing position with his back facing the woman again.
Johnny's style of fighting was one of constant motion, constant fast motion. There was no moment of rest when he wasn't moving, or attacking. Nearly every person he fought would get overwhelmed by the speed and movement, never able to see an opening for attack and that's one of the ways he beat them. Something told him that this woman just might present a challenge though.
Once again, keeping with the momentum, he pivoted on his foot and lefted his other leg up; spinning and swinging it as he did so into a roundhouse kick aimed for her head. He hadn't waited to see if he actually cut her leg up moments ago, but whether he did or didn't really didn't matter, he wasn't going to stop attacking until she was dead.

It seemed like their bantering had ended for the moment, neither speaking up with the start of this next assault. If Merfonde had any say though, it wouldn't last long. The woman wasn't one to stay silent, even in the most intense of fights.
The exchange would only last a few seconds, but Merfonde would learn more about this man in those few seconds then she would just chatting with him. First, he was a slippery sucker, much like a snake, easily switching from offense to defense, then quickly back to offense once more. It would be hard to land something on him.
Balancing on one leg could prove dangerous, especially when fighting someone like this. The woman jumped, kicking the targeted leg back and out of harm's way as she pulled the other back. He was already gone and moving on to his next assault when she landed, spinning out with a roundhouse this time. Instantly she dropped the blade in her hands, throwing both out to 'slap' the assault out and away, using his own momentum against him. In the same motion, she twisted, sweeping one foot out to catch his own and, hopefully, send him tumbling.
With out even waiting to see what happened she retreated back, putting those few feet between them again.

As Johnny spun on his leg, he felt her slap it away in a sense. That immediately told him she was a skilled fighter because first off, to have the reflexes to do that was impressive. Secondly, you had to know how to do it correctly, otherwise, it would end up hurting your hand or just knocking you over. She did it well though, allowing Johnny to continued with his momentum while she remained untouched.
Barely in time, Johnny noticed the movement of her leg at his feet. Without touching the feet he had used to kick at her to the ground, he swung it up and over his head, following through with the other foot as well. Then brought his bladed forearms to the ground behind him, pushing the tips of the blades into the wooden floor, allowing him to gracefully backflip away. He landed on his hands, one feet curled beneath him, the other stretched out behind him to cushion his landing.
Slowly he looked up to see she had taken a few steps back. For all her skill she was making the same mistake as everyone else. Casually, Johnny came to his feet and began smoothly walking toward her, "You know, before I kill you, answer me this..." Without warning, Johnny's casual strut turned into a violent lunge forward at the woman, without any warning at all.
John lunged forward with his blade, about to gore her in the stomach, but as he did so he kicked off of the ground and flipped over her. As soon as he landed on the other side of her, his back facing hers, he took a sharp step backwards and slammed his elbow into the middle of her back. It was a move that would hurt her, but would obviously not kill or incapacitate her. It would most likely just knock her to the ground with some pain... a humilation attack if you will.
"Where were you hoping to call in the bounty? The U.N.? C.I.A.?" Johnny asked curiously, casually turning around to face the woman. He himself was going to call it in to a man known only as the Black Mamba. That man had posted the highest bounty, so high that most bounty hunters were afraid to take it... And most low level buotny hunters hadn't even heard about it, which he doubted she had either.

Of course retreating was a mistake but she did it intentionally. If there wasn't a price on the person's head, she let them get back to their feet before continuing, to prolong the fight.
Merfonde just waited for him to do just that, running her fingers through her hair in a slightly bored fashion. His comment was half ignored, if only because he didn't finish it. Then, he was charging again. Really, what was if with men? They always did the same thing... She tensed, preparing to divert his attack away again, only this time he'd decided to take her by surprise, flipping over her like a gymnast.
Before she could turn to stop his next attack that elbow dug into her back, throwing her off balance. She dropped, then rolled into a crouch, facing him. The way she stared at him... She looked pissed, but there was no sign of the pain. She rise from her crouch yet. His question though.... Both her eyebrows raised in a 'are you stupid?' sort of way.
A few moments passed, before she scoffed. "You really think that those greedy politicians would put out a bounty this high?" She smirked, finally standing back up to her full height. "If you must know, though, he called himself some ridiculous name. Black something." She paused for a moment, head tilted slightly. "Why do you care?"

John was simply going to attack the woman again as she spoke, using the idle conversation as a ploy. Before he moved even a muscle though, what she said "Yes, the Black Mamba..." Johnny said thoughtfully. "I care because the same person hired me..." Johnny said as he looked back up at the woman.
The Mamba hadn't just put out a bounty, he contacted Johnny directly with this. No other bounty hunter he knew, knew about this mutant or had even heard of this Mamba fellow. If the Mamba had hired this woman like he did Johnny, that was just odd. It wasn't unheard for someone to hire two bounty hunters for one bounty, but for a bounty like this, and for one this large? It was incredibly rare, something felt wrong about this.
Before Johnny could say another word however, the wall behind him exploded with tremendous force, shaking the entire building. Dust and debris went everywhere, knocking Johnny himself to the ground.
He jerked his head around to where the wall used to be. Instead there was a massive hole, revealing the bloody war going on outside. Apparently the gang had called in all of their reinforcements, and the cops had started using their army. The very army that was looking through the wall at Johnny.
About eight or nine soldiers rushed into the room and started yelling in Arabic at Johnny and the woman, pointing their guns at them and obviously demanding they put their hands in the air. Johnny stood up, raising his hands, revealing the two blades strapped onto his arms and the harness on him that was covered with blades and guns.
He wasn't about to be killed for this and let the woman get off completely free though, he glanced at her, then at the soldiers, "She's a mutant!" Johnny yelled, pointing at the bounty stealer.
Immediately, half the guns moved over and pointed at her. Johnny gave a charming smile as he glanced over at her, "If I have to go to hell, you're going with me... Looks like we will have to postpone killing each other until after we kill everyone else." Johnny said quietly so that only she could hear as the guards argued among themselves over something. "I hope you're good with a gun."
At that, Johnny lunged forward, surprising the soldiers and burying his blade deep into the man's stomachs as the rest turned their guns on him. One of them called in that they were being attacked by a man with blades and a mutant, the woman would have no choice but to help now. As Johnny withdrew the blade from the man's stomach, he lashed at, cutting another across the next. In the same motion, withdrew his remaining holstered pistol and tossed back to the woman... He had to trust her to get out of this alive... for now.

The same man.... Hired him? That irked her beyond belief. Sure, she'd had to deal with these situations before, when the employer had been desperate to get the job done, but still... There were cases when it'd been done to pit certain individuals against each other, motivation, in a sense... But in those situations at least she'd known the other Bounty Hunter. "Either he wanted that man dead pretty badly, or something else is going on."
Then, the explosion.
Not only was the man sent scrambling, so was Merfonde, just not as badly seeing as she hadn't been nearly as close to the explosion. She rolled out of the way, dropped into a crouch, but slowly rose when the men came in. "I guess they don't like using doors..." She spoke softly, not speaking to anyone in particular. Slowly she rose from her crouch, hands raised slightly. It wouldn't be hard to play the whole 'he had me captive, I'm not involved in anyway!' act, seeing as she was a women, and men were just dense like that. Before she could put on the frantic act though.... The man had accused her of being a mutant.
She actually gaped at him, stunned into silence for probably the first time in her life. What the hell?! How dare he! The soldiers seemed to believe him, only adding more full to her raging temper. "You-" Of course, right before she could do anything about it, he'd leaped into action. Men.... So impatient...
Merfonde dove for the discarded pistol from earlier as all attention turned to the man. By the time anyone saw what she was doing, she'd already fired off two shots at the nearest soldiers. The bullets sunk deep into their chests, right into the heart and killing them instantly. She continued firing off shots, her own marksmanship starting to show through. She might be skilled in hand to hand from years and years of practice, skilled enough to hold her own for a time, but her real talent lay in guns.
She didn't exactly need the second pistol, but that didn't mean she didn't appreciate it. With it, she took out the rest of the soldiers. All dead, she turned her dangerous gaze on him. "If you ever call me a mutant again, I'll make your life a living hell."

There wasn't much time for Johnny to worry about what the woman was doing. He had enough trust in her to know she would kill these soldiers before him, well, as much trust as a thief would give a thief... Or worse, a bounty hunter would give a bounty hunter.
Blood gushed from the wounds that Johnny tore open as he spun like a dervish, cutting knees, arms, necks, faces, anything he could reach. It was obvious that while Johnny was dangerous one on one, his true skill was in suprise and fighting groups of enemies. He slammed his blade through the bottom of one man's jaw, kicked another away, and pulled the blade out. Spinning on his heel, he turned and was about to push the arm blade into the face of the last soldier but before he could, a bullet tore through the side of the man's head and he collapsed with the tip of Johnny's blade only inches from his face.
Slowly, he turned to face the woman, the sounds of the chaos outside were even louder now that a hole had been blown in the wall. However, the conflict Johnny was now facing was that the woman had the guns, and only moments ago they had been fighting to the death. "I'm stuck in the middle of Saudi Arabia, hunting a bounty that may very well not exist, with a person that I'd like to kill, and very likely double crossed by the man who was going to pay me... Sweetheart, I'm already in hell."
There was a pause as he stared at her, he knew what she was thinking, as he was too. He still wanted to kill her. However, he knew that she had to be thinking about what he said otherwise she'd have shot him already, "Listen, I don't know what's going on here, if we've been played or not. There is a bloody war going on outside though, and we are only going to get out of here together." He paused for a moment, letting the words sink in, "So what do you say we work together until we are somewhere safe... I'll contact Mamba, we find out what's really going on, and then we can kill each other. Sound good?"

Merfonde had contemplated shooting him, who wouldn't? He'd tried to kill her after all. Not to mention if she got rid of him she could just claim her bounty and move on with her life. He was going to try to kill her sooner or later, after all. So why not just kill him before he got in her way again? She wouldn't have to fight for her bounty that way...
She didn't shoot him. Not yet anyway, even if she did look like she was seriously considering it. Finally though, he broke the silence between them. "....." She just stared at him with that dark glare of hers. He had a point. Killing each other now wouldn't help. Getting to the bottom of this was more important.... For now. "Hmph.... Fine." She didn't like working with people, ever. But... Well it looked like today would be the exception.
"Do you want these back?" She held out the twin pistols for him. She didn't like using other people's weapons that much. The woman didn't seem worried that he might try to shoot her. After all, they were in a temporary alliance. Nothing good would come out of shooting her in the middle of it.

The moments that the woman and Johnny stared at each other in silence were intense to say the least. She was holding both of the guns, and giving him the coldest glare he had seen in some time. While he had not yet retracted the blades on his arm, and simple stood there with a slight smile, as if waiting for her to make any move. The tension was thick, there was no doubt, but as soon as she said "fine" it immediately got more relaxed.... As much as they could be in a war zone.
When she offered to give his guns back to him he paused for a moment, then shook his head, retracting the blades. "Keep them for now, when I take want them back... You'll know it's time for us to kill each other." He said with a slightly wink, glancing at his pistols. Those guns had been with him for a long time, silver-plated metal and white-pearled handles with ornate gold designs were carved into them made up the appearance. Definitely unique, what was more unique was that he had customized the pistols themselves. They could be shot faster than almost any other pistol out there, they never jammed, and the accurate to a a lethal distance.
John bent down and picked up an assualt rifle from one of the dead soldiers. It was fully automatic with a scope, grenade launcher attachment, and a fully clip. This would do just fine, "First we need to get out of here before the calvary shows up... Got any ideas?" Johny had never planned on making a quick get away, so he was letting the woman take the lead... for now.

It really did seem like the two might just turn on each other before they came to the truce. Or.... That Merfonde might turn on him until she'd decided he was worth more alive then dead. For some reason the truce set things in motion. She knew he wouldn't try to kill her until it ended, and she wouldn't try to kill him. She might be a Mercenary, but she still had an honor code after all!
His response made her laugh, truly laugh, and not some sarcastic chuckle. "That works, then. They aren't bad, I'm sort of envious." Of course she admired the twin weapons, her gaze slowly dropping down to examine them fully. She wished she had something this nice. And when this truce ended? If she killed him maybe she would keep them! It wasn't like he'd be using them if he was dead...
So.... Now it was time to get moving. First, they needed a plan, and he seemed to be leaving it up to her. "....." Deep in thought, she tried to come up with something that might work. "Aren't the natives prepared for things like this?" War was a part of daily life around here, so perhaps it was possible the hotel had an underground escape tunnel....

"They are nice, very custom. Don't think about stealing them or I might just have to kill you early." This was said with a slight wink, obviously a joke but hidden under his voice it almost sounded as though he was... Flirting?
As she spoke again, Johnny shrugged, turning back around and facing the destroyed wall. You could see explosions out in the city and the gunfire was so close now that he and this woman would be consumed by it if they didn't move fast. "Even if they were, we would need something to be able to get through the desert on.... Wait, do you have a car?" Johnny asked, turning back around to face her. He himself had come in on a taxi from a neighboring city, but if she had a vehicle they had a way out.
Before another second could pass, gunfire exploded from behind them, peppering the inside of the room and barely missing John and the woman. As if he had been trained for this, Johnny calmly turned around, raised the assualt rifle and began picking targets off with small bursts of fire. There were far too many of them to even began to slow them down, however. So at the same time he backstepped toward the door of his room and jumped into the hallway.
"Well... That was rude." Johnny said, dropping the clip out of the AR and swapping it for another, "If you have a car, we could use, if not... Ladies first." He said with a slight bow to the open hallway, honestly he just wanted her to go first so he could keep his eyes and gun on her. Trust among mercenaries only went so far after all.
