It was early… Or late, whichever you preferred. Either way, it was a little past three in the morning. The occupants of the school had long since gone to bed, Freya one of them. Surprisingly, so was Rory. He hadn’t been ‘returned’ to the Danger Room that evening as planned. Instead, he spent the night with Freya. Shocking, considering he only remembered a few things about her…
Still, somehow the two had managed to end up in a far too familiar chain of events. That being one of them(Freya ninety percent of the time) being pissed at the other(obviously Rory most the time), followed by futile attempts to stay mad at him, finally giving up, and the two ‘making up’. Obviously, the two had been…. Preoccupied for quite a while. But why was it three in the morning? Because, Freya had woken up, and for some reason had absolutely no desire to actually go back to sleep. To know why, you’d have to understand the extremely odd habits of Freya Elensar…
Basically, the woman is quite…. Unique when it comes to sleeping. On her own, she rarely has issues, but when you threw Rory into the mix, she was a little strange to put it nicely. As long as he ‘somewhat’ cuddled with her, she was completely fine, somewhat meaning he had to be touching her, whether it just be holding her hand, or an arm around her, contact was necessary. Otherwise? She tried to sneak off. Literally. Literally meaning she would get out of bed and go find something else to do, because as long as he refused to cuddle, she refused to sleep. Even if he just rolled over in his sleep and the arm that had been touching her before had moved, she would scurry off. It was a little freaky how she always woke up the moment contact was lost. Even freakier that Rory usually woke up when she tried to escape. He’d learned very quickly that if he didn’t have a hold of her when he went to bed, she’d try to run off at one point in the night. As you could guess, he’d obviously adapted so he wouldn’t lose his beauty rest trying to keep track of his wayward girlfriend. Sadly… It seemed with most his memories gone…. He’d forgotten all about her bizarre behavior.
Back to reality.
Rory had shifted in his sleep, the arm that had been draped over her before sprawled out in some random direction(other than the one she was in). Now, because of her habit, she knew the moment it happened, waking instantly. Completely wide awake, her eyes opened. The woman took a moment to assess the situation, and come up with the plan. She was careful as she thought, making sure her breathing stayed slow and steady, not moving more then she normally did in her sleep, all to make sure Rory wouldn’t wake up. The man slept with one eye open, if she did anything out of the ordinary he was on his feet before she even raised her head.
Trying to go back to sleep was out of the question, she’d tried dozens of times in the past. Sadly, sneaking off rarely worked, but laying there in the dark didn’t sound all that appealing. With those three choices, it wasn’t that hard to guess which one she chose. Slowly and carefully she tried to slip out from under the covers and out of the bed without waking Rory…..

There wasn't a specific time the previous night that Rory and Freya had fallen asleep. They had been, well, "busy" for quite some time to say the least and by the time both of them were done (which due to Freya's stubborness and extreme passion, and Rory's unnatural stamina, generally meant many hours) they both practically passed out asleep. Both of those were very odd for Rory, first off he was never attracted to anyone, ever. Yet last night he couldn't stop himself from wanting Freya. Secondly, he never ever stayed the night, anywhere, yet there he had been with the woman he was attracted to both asleep in the same bed. Funny how things that 'never' happened usually ended up happening sooner or later...
As soon as he fell asleep, the dreams started again. For weeks now, ever since he got his memory back, these dreams had been haunting him. In them he could see the armies of The Agency, and more importantly, Darkside. While tonight the dreams started as usual, there was a twist as the night wore on. Instead of it turning into a nightmare as usual, he began to dream about... Freya? This was different though, they felt so real, as if they were more than dreams... As if they had really happened. He had saw a maze, and Freya was in it, so was he... It felt more than real, and just as he was about to see what happened, something moved; not in the dream.
The disturbance triggered an instant and almost programmed reaction from Rory, it was something he trained himself years for, and had become second nature to him. When something woke him up... He would attack it. A bit groggy from the sudden shift from slumber to reality made him forget where exactly he was, but his hand shot underneath the pillow his head was resting on regardless.
Though he couldn't remember where he was, or how he got there, he had apparently 'made his mark' on this place because underneath the pillow his hand find the grip of a gun; he had definitely stayed here before. In one swift, and unnaturally fast movement, Rory pulled the gun out and grabbed the person who was moving next to him; pressing the barrel of the gun against their head. "Who are ye?" Rory spoke quietly, trying to remember where he was, and ready to pull the trigger at the slightest hint of danger from this would be attacker.

Rory had always been a light sleeper, even before. You would have thought Freya would learn by now. Sadly, she hadn't. Freya never learned, at least not quickly. So, Rory waking wasn't much of a surprise. If anything, it was expected. Still, a part of her had to try and escape. Sadly.... He didn't quite have the same reaction as he used to.
His ridiculous reflexes just about scared her out of her skin... And startling Freya wasn't a good idea. The temperature sky rocketed to over 90, the woman swearing aloud in French. Taking a moment to calm her nerves, she let the temperature drop.... And assess the situation. It seemed Rory had already found a gun... Perhaps she should have searched the room before hand, make sure he didn't have any hidden anywhere.
Sighing, she swore once more, still in French, before finally addressing the current situation. "If you don't put that down, I'll melt it." She pause for a moment, tilting her head a little so she could look at him in the dark over her shoulder. "And I'm sure having a gun melt in your hand would be very unpleasant."

Perhaps the first most shocking thing for Rory was that wherever he was at, he had to have been here before. With the placement of the gun underneath his pillow, it was in the same position that he always puts it under a pillow... So either he had been here before, or there was someone that did things exactly like him; the latter being the more unlikely of the two. The second shocking thing was that as soon as the barrel of his pistol touched the head of his assailant, the temperature in the room spiked drastically. Just after that, the person, who was cloaked by darkness, swore loudly in... French? With a voice and an accent that Rory immediately recognized.
Slowly, a wave of realization swept over Rory. He was in "his" room, and Freya's, at that "X-Men mansion" place and it was not an assailant in his bed... but in fact Freya herself. Well, if nothing else confirmed that she had been telling the truth about this being their room, the fact that a gun was kept under the very pillow he was sleeping on did.
As she said something in French again, which Rory knew a little French but recognized none of the words she spoke just now, and finally addressed him; his muscles finally relaxed a little and his finger moved off the trigger. "Eh... Jus' thought I'd test yer reflexes." Rory said as he lowered the gun and slid it back under the pillow, "They're uh... Workin well."
He glanced over at the clock before speaking again, "Good... Mornin' sunshine?" Now, Rory was very used to getting up far before the sun rose, and due to his travels his body didn't have any "internal clock" that needed sleep between a certain set hours; he just need some sleep every now and then. However, that aside, it was three in the bloody morning! He couldn't stop himself from asking, "What were ye movin all over for lass?" He asked, dropping his head back onto the pillow and letting his arm release Freya and instead rest gently across her chest. Sure, she may not have actually been moving THAT much, but to him it seemed like a lot...

“Reflexes? Scare me out of my skin is more like it.” Freya was scowling now, half wishing he hadn’t put the gun back, just so she could have an excuse to melt it. But seeing as she really didn’t want to replace the bed because of melted metal…. Rory was very lucky.
Why the hell hadn’t she remembered Rory had a nasty habit of hiding weapons in their room? Tomorrow when he wasn’t looking she was personally going to find every single weapon he’d hidden, just so he couldn’t repeat himself.
Freya lay back down, taking slow breaths to try and calm her raging nerves, all the while looking over at him with a dark glare in her eyes. “Were you trying to give me a heart attack? This early in the morning?” Of course, it was at this point that he seemed to realize what time it was himself. When he did, she laughed a little. It seemed that It’d be a little longer before he remembered her habit of running off.
“Why don’t you think about it for a bit. You’ll figure it out sooner or later.” Seeing as he was awake, there wasn’t much chance of escape now….

"Was ih no' a good test o' yer reflexes?" Rory said with a slight grin, leaning a bit closer, "An jus' so ye know... Ye passed." As if it really mattered whether it was really a test or not considering how bad he obviously scared her, he was simply trying to make light of the fact that he had placed a gun to the head of the woman he had just slept with the night before. Not exactly his fault that she decided to make a fuss and move around, then again, why did he feel the sudden urge to calm her and let her know everything was ok?
Rory was trained thoroughly in the tactics of fear, in some situations all he did was terrify his opponents to the point where they were no longer a threat in combat. So why did he care about a woman who only a day ago had tried to kill him three times and succeeded once, and whether she was scared or not? It was unexplainable, perhaps he had gotten attached after sleeping with her? No, that just wasn't like him, it was something more. Something he both liked the feeling of, but despised as well...
When she spoke again, Rory couldn't help but slowly turn his head to look at her. Did she actually just say what he thought she said? Only a few hours ago they had got done... 'Having fun' and she already was insuating that she wanted some more? Sure, Rory had stamina that few could match, but this was just surprising. Before anything else happened though, he made a mental note to scout this room and see if there were anymore weapons when Freya left.
Slowly he rolled over, putting more of his arm over Freya and positioning himself so that he was right over her, his face only a few inches from hers. "Ih wouldn't 'ave anythin' ta do with me givin' ye an apology fer scarin ye would ih?" Rory said, leaning and and kissing her softly on the lips and the neck in 'apology'.

Freya just gave him a look that called him an idiot, and that she was obviously still ticked at him for startling her. Freya downright hated being scared, but she had a pretty good reason to! Startling a pyromancer wasn’t exactly smart, and most the time could end up with someone, usually the person trying to scare them, getting seriously hurt. Great way to wake up in the morning, accidently startle her, end up with third degree burns. “Well you’re little test could have gotten you killed if I hadn’t remembered you were there!”
Somehow, her comment had come out far more Sexual then intended without her even noticing. Instantly she went back to scowling at him, looking away as she acted totally uninterested. As he shifted though, she couldn’t help but look back, only to find him right over her. She scowled once more. “You don’t apologize. Ever.” When he started kissing her though, she couldn’t help but melt into the kisses, her anger vanishing.
A few moments passed, before her senses returned… Well enough that she realized what just might happen. She quickly made her escape, wiggling out from under him, and rolling off the bed. “I think I’m going to try my escape plan after all.” Thankfully she’d landed on her side of the bed and was able to find a bathrobe she’d discarded there earlier in the day, instantly slipping it on and tying it closed.

Rory couldn't help but chuckle a little, "Well, it wouldn' be the firs' time ye killed me, now woul' it, lass?" There was a slight smirk on his face. Generally, when someone killed Rory it only made him violently angry. In fact, back in The Agency, it was a common joke to say "Don't ever kill Rory, it'll only piss him off." Though it was far more true than one would think, and yet looking back now; yes, Freya killing him still made him pretty mad but honestly he didn't care. It was odd, incredibly odd, but he didn't put much thought into that, at least not for now.
As soon as his lips touched her skin he could feel her entire body relax under him, that was when it suddenly hit him. Rory was skilled at discovering mutants weaknesses, character flaws if you will. It was what his job used to be, killing powerful mutants, and the only way to do that was to find their weakness. If it wasn't a weakness in power, then it was one in personality, just like how he found that both Freya's pride and lack of oxygen were her weaknesses. As he laid there kissing her though, another more powerful weakness became evident... HE was her weakness. With the way she acted with him, the fact that he could change her mood so easily, and how with a simple kiss she completely collapsed in his arms... This made things more complicated, perhaps she was telling more of the truth than he thought...
"In tha' case... Consi'er this a... Peace offerin'." He said in between kisses. Then after several long minutes, it was as if she suddenly got a grip on herself and slid out from under him and onto the ground. Rory couldn't help but go into a sort of stupor admiring her form that was shown in the moonlight, his jaw dropping slightly even though he just spent the entire night with her.
Reality hit him as she tied on the bathrobe, and in a movement that was far too swift for any human to ever make, Rory seemingly disappeared from the bed and stepped out of the shadows in front of the door. He placed his hands on his hips and raised a brow at Freya, blocking the door, "And 'ow exac'ly do ye plan on gettin' out, alainn?" As he spoke, Rory suddenly realized that it was... a bit cooler in the room than usual.
Slowly his eyes traveled down, the sight that met him reminding him that Freya had been very succesful in stripping him the night before. He glanced around the room a little, his hands still on his hips, before finally speaking, "Eh seemed to 'ave, uh... misplaced me pants..."

Freya actually rolled her eyes. “Actually, I was more worried about the smell. And possible damage to the bed. I’d rather not replace it.” Okay, not quite true, but seeing as this was Freya, it wasn’t like she was actually going to admit killing him would have seriously upset her.
Of course Rory was looking for weaknesses again. It’d been the first thing he’d been interested in finding upon meeting her. It wasn’t until he actually fell for her though that he found one, and by that point he hadn’t cared. But in their time together, Rory really had become her biggest weakness. And, hopefully when Rory started to remember her, she might become his once again…
“Peace offering..?” Freya looked at him, hands planted on her hips, a smirk on her lips. “I didn’t think you even knew what peace was.” His quick movement though, made her pause… And suddenly blush, her cheeks suddenly red. Of course it wasn’t the first time she’d seen him completely bare… But…. Still…
After she managed to get her composure, she smirked. “You do remember you’re in our room, right? Find a pair.” She turned away from him, and… headed for the window, jerking it open. “And you should remember, there’s more than one exit.” She sat on the window sill, swinging her legs out the window as she looked down, instantly deciding that she’d probably have to use her power to make sure she didn’t actually break a leg when she jumped from the two story window.

"O' course eh know wha' peace is..." Rory said with a look on his face that said "duh", "It's the momen's in between the momen's when I'm either killin er fightin'... So..." He paused for a moment as if thinking when those moments might be, "When I'm asleep, an... Well, we weren't exac'ly asleep las' nigh' but eh... I'd say tha'd be included in there." He said with a slight grin, taking another step toward her, "Care fer another peace offerin'?"
As he spoke he saw the blush on her face from the fact that he was standing completely nude before her. However, as soon as she blushed, and as soon as she finished speaking, she was on the move again; this time for the window. Surely Rory should've noticed that as an escape route. Perhaps part of him thought that she wouldn't use it simply because she was nude except for the bathrobe and she was about to make an escape outside to who knows where.
Calmly he walked to the windows edge and leaned on the sill, looking at Freya, then the ground, then back at her. "Look's like the only way down would be fer ye ta use yer powers... BUt we both saw how well those powers worked on yer clothes the other day, no?" Rory said, referring to when her powers burnt most of her clothing off. "So, I was thinkin' abou' stopping ye, but then I decided... I'd much rather watch this." He said, leaning on the sill, expectantly waiting for Freya to jump.

Freya just stared at him, slowly blinking. After a few moments though, she started laughing, shaking her head. “Last night…. Peaceful….” She just about lost her balance on the windowsill as she continued laughing. She only stopped when he ‘offered’ to continue where they left off, the woman giving him a sour look. “Well aren’t you eager. Too bad, I’m in no mood to please.”
Obviously, Rory didn’t think she’d do it. Strange. He’d already seen her do some pretty insane things as is. Yet he didn’t expect her to jump out the window just because she was wearing a bathrobe? Still… His comment made her hesitate for a moment, as if she hadn’t actually realized she might burn the robe accidently… After a few moments though, she looked at him, scowling. “You know, if you had your memories, you’d know that has only happened once.”
She looked back down at the ground, still trying to decide if she should do it or not. It was right around that point she realized that Rory was at the window as well… And until her, he wasn’t covered at all. Someone watching just might see something they shouldn’t… Suddenly, she was irritated. Not because he wasn’t being shy, but because someone might see him.
“Tu es completement debile….” She was muttering to herself in French once more, as she reached up and pulled the curtains closed, just so anyone looking wouldn’t see him. “Someone could see you!” Of course, her sudden movement threw her completely off balance, making her jump a little too soon for her own taste. Thankfully she remembered to do two things, hold the robe down so nothing that shouldn’t be seen was seen, and have flame carefully surround her to slow her descent. And, like she’d basically said, her robe remained completely untouched. On the grass she looked back up at the window, still able to see Rory, and stuck her tongue out at him.

While everything was going on, the playful banter, the witty comments, the flirting, the kissing... In the back of Rory's mind there was a small voice that screamed "WHAT THE *$ ARE YOU DOING?!" Rory was no common man, mutant, or anything in between. His entire existence had been war, death, fighting, every manner of conflict since the time he was born so long ago... More recently his abilities were honed to the point that killing was not only Rory's strong point, he actually enjoyed yet. Yet here he was, not killing the person who attacked him, but enjoying being... carefree?
Part of him was beginning to snap back to reality, to the fact that he needed answers from her, and needed to give her answers. Still though, he would entertain these fanciful actions for a while longer...
"Tha's alrigh', alainn... You don' 'ave ta do anythin... If ye catch me meanin'." He said with a slight wink, though honestly, he was enjoying just talking to her... Was he becoming attracted to her on more than a physical level? How could he after only knowing her for a couple days, there was something more there but now was not the time to think about it so deeply.
"An so wha' if they do, eh? " Rory said with a smirk, Freya seemed far more concerned about someone seeing him than he did. He couldn't help but think that maybe she was just a bit jealous. Before he could say anything else though, she slipped and fell off the roof. Rory lunged out to grab her but wasn't quite fast enough, and after a few seconds it seemed it didn't matter.
Rory leaned against the sill and looked down at her in amusement, "Tha' was good alrigh'.... Too good... I din' even ge' a peek..." Rory said in mock disappointment. Considering he spent most of the night with her in his arms, he couldn't be too serious about the disappointment.
For a moment Rory disappeared back into the darkness of the room, then suddenly burst out of the window, leaping through the air as if he was diving into a pool. He somersaulted just as he was about to hit the ground and rolled forward and onto his feet in front of Freya, a pair of black shorts now present on his body; but nothing else. He glanced at the window, then at Freya, "Come on... Tha' was good. Though, not qui'e as "Hot" as yer performance, alainn." He said with a wink.
Briefly, he glanced up into the night sky, and the smile slowly faded from his face. A cool breeze touched across his skin as he stared at the stars, then down at Freya who was only a few inches from him. Slowly his head turned to his left, looking at a wall of hedge bushes that marked the outside wall of the school's hedge maze. Rory stared at it intently for several minutes before speaking with a much more somber tone, "Tha' was where we firs' kissed, aye?" Rory asked quietly, not taking his eyes off the maze.

Of course Freya was the jealous sort. The idea of someone other than her seeing Rory naked… Well, it was a good thing no one actually had, because she probably would have roasted the person…. Which probably wouldn’t surprise anyone.
Falling out the window didn’t exactly suit well with Freya, the woman beyond pissed about it. So pissed, that she didn’t even realize he’d tried to catch her. She did, on the other hand, notice just how funny he thought this all was. She fixed him with a dark scowl, tempted to destroy the window sill he was leaning on just so he’d fall. “That’s good, because you weren’t supposed to see anything.”
She was moving to go wander when he suddenly reappeared… Quite literally! While she had been concerned about possibly injuring herself from jumping from the window, he hadn’t even given it a second thought. The woman just smirked, combing her fingers through her messy hair. “What, are you jealous of my mad jumping skills?” Well, at least Rory had thought about covering up some before jumping… Still, he was still a little more exposed then she would have liked. But…. She wasn’t one to talk, she knew that if he had his memories he wouldn’t be happy at all about her wandering around in only a bathrobe… But who would be out at this hour to actually see them?
“You’re going to follow me then?” He had followed her out the window, so he probably was… She had turned to wander off… When she heard him speak again. This time though, she didn’t think his comment was funny as she slowly looked back at him, and then the maze, her expression impossible to read. After a few moments though, she nodded. “…. Yes….”

For several long minutes Rory stared at the hedge maze in total silence. It was even more total as Freya too seemed to suddenly fall silent. The air around them seemed to change almost instantly. The fun, flirty atmosphere that there was between them fell flat and an almost somber and tense feeling filled the air. It was obvious that the fun and games had stopped, though for Rory, his mind was on other things.
Staring at the hedge maze brought up... Memories he didn't even know he had, memories he didn't even remember doing. He could see it clearly, Freya and Rory had gotten lost and were bantering, getting closer and closer to each other, then the kiss. It was all so clear, but all so incredibly foreign. It felt like he was watching a movie, literally, a movie about someone else. Like it had all been a dream, or a dream about a dream, but with all the evidence before him it was obvious.... It was real, she wasn't lying after all.
"I can remember it, all clearly... But..." He shook his head slightly before turning to look at Freya, "Ye had been tellin the truth lass." Rory was silent for a few moments, as if letting it all sink in. It really hit him now, she was the key to what had happened these last few years.
"If ye had somewhere ye were tryin' ta take me before, I'll follow... Otherwise, there are some things I need to show you, and tell you." He said calmly and bluntly, he knew it for a fact now. He could trust her, maybe not fully yet, but she hadn't lied to him so far and they had been together... "Sorry, fer no' believin' ye before..."

It seemed that the moment Rory caught sight of the hedge maze, everything else was forgotten, even Freya. He was fixated on it. Freya didn’t do anything, just watched him in complete silence. It almost looked like… He was in some sort of a daze. But after what he’d just asked, she couldn’t exactly blame him. His memories were still returning after all!
His comments actually surprised her. Why? Well, so far he actually hadn’t remembered a full event, just bits and pieces. Hopefully it wouldn’t be the only one… The other reason was that he still seemed to have thought she was lying to some degree. Hearing that, she scowled, hands propped on her hips. “What, you thought I was lying?” The woman couldn’t even recall the last time she lied! She had absolutely no reason to! Of course she was a little insulted that he would even think she might…
She sighed, forcing herself to relax from the almost insult. Being mad wouldn’t do any good right now, after all! Moving her hands from her hips, she folded them across her chest. “I don’t think walking off in a random direction and seeing where it takes me counts as ‘somewhere’.” She paused, shrugging softly. “Lead the way.”
His apology caught her off guard, surprise written all over her face. She stared at him for several moments, before her gaze dropped to the ground. “Apologies don’t suit you.”
