When Braxton landed in a bellyflop, she couldn't help but to wince. It couldn't have been pleasant. When he resurfaced, seeming to be fine, she smiled and laughed lightly.
"I don't think anyone has ever greeted me with a howdy before. I'm Lola."
When Victoria dove into the water, she laughed again.
"I wasn't expecting this to become a party."

*Pushing her hair out of her face she smiled. She had most likely ruined these cloths. But right now that didn't matter.*
I'm Tori
*She then went under a second time, looking around. She saw a few small fish, but there wern't that many, because of all the people. Now that she was in, Tori was tempted to swim out to open water and swim some more, but that would have to wait. Now she was with some people.*

"And I'm Braxton," he nodded at Lola, and smiled at Tori as she jumped in. He dunked his head under the water too. He was already ruining his clothes. Might as well mess up his hair while he's at it. When he came back up, he pulled his now soaked hair away from his eyes and smiled at the girls again, adding, "It be fine with me if you made it a party."
The only reason that bellyflop didn't hurt him was because he bellyflopped every single time he jumped into water. It was kind of his signature move, and so after a few times he was used to it. As he watched, Tori looked like she was very comfortable in the water. Like it was part of her nature. So either she was an extremely good swimmer, or there was something more to it. Braxton wasn't the brightest fellow, but he knew when to be suspicious and when not to. And he didn't have to be smart to be good at reading people.

Lola nodded. "Nice to meet you Tori. Is that short for Victoria or just Tori? Just curious. I'm weird about names, mostly because I hate mine."
Well, she hated her birthname. She almost had enough money saved up to legally make her name Lola. She loathed the name Rebecca, mostly because it just didn't fit her. She laughed at Braxton's comment.
"Oh sweetheart, it isn't a party until someone loses their pants. A beach party does sound fun though. If Bosley isn't working tonight I might be able to get a free DJ. Set up the music by the bar. Hm...I dunno."
Bosley was a friend of hers. His actual name was Taylor, but his DJ name was Bosley and that was just what everyone called him. She was oneof very few people who knew his actual name, and the fact that he went by Bosley because of Charlie's Angels.

*Tori smiled and nodded.*
Then name Victoria just doesn't suit me. I think Tori fits me so much better.
*The sound of a party was fun. She thought of some of the "party animals" at the mansion, and how sad they would be for not being invited. Of they would sniff it out and bump into her. Either way she didn't mind much. She was still young and almost up to anything.*

Braxton nodded when Tory said that Victoria didn't fit her. "I think Tori fits you better, too," he agreed. He didn't really think that Braxton fit him very well, either. But the only other nickname he'd been given was Braxie. That's what his little sister used to call him, but he couldn't stand it. And his face would definitely flush red if people called him that now.
Then he turned back to Lola and smiled. "A beach party does sound fun," he nodded. "Bosley? The DJ dude? I've heard of him. You should ask him about it, definitely."
He'd only heard of Bosley because he'd been to so many different placed around New York. Most of those places were usually involving loud music and hot girls. That first part involved a DJ most of the time, and the name Bosley was an easy name to remember.

"Yeah, I see you as more of a Tori than a Victoria. When I hear Victoria I think of creepy old ladies who play the harp in dusty rooms with bear skin rugs."
Lola laughed when Braxton said that he knew Bosley.
“Oh Brax, do you mind if I call you Brax? If you know Bosley like I know Bosley then you must have yourself one hell of a career or one hell of a night life.”
She looked back to the shore and sunk under the water for a moment before resurfacing and pushing her hair out of her face.
“Well sun’s about to go down. If you guys are serious about this then I better go back to my phone.”

*Tori smiled, she had made new friends. She was glad to be here but wished that she had worn her swim suit. She wondered if she could run back and get it. Maybe not.*
That sounds like a good idea.
*She felt fiarily sheltered compared to Lola and Braxton. She didn't get out much, but when she did it was usually for missions. Since she was supposed to be looked up to, she preferred to be a good example. True the gates closed at a certain time but she could just clime over the wall or something. She was sure that lots of students snuk out and back in many times. Just they got in big trouble when they were caught. If she was caught she probably wouldn't get in that much trouble because she was older and this was the first time she had ever done it.*
I wont be shocked if I see anyone from the place I live, some of them are real party animals.
*She knew that well, sometimes because she would be out late swimming in the pool when she herd voices. She then got really quiet and heard them sneaking out. She wasn't mean enough to get them in trouble, so they never knew that she was out there when they snuk out.*

Braxton dunked his head back under the water for a moment. When he came back up, he smiled at Lola and Tori. "Sounds like a great idea! I'm always up for anything fun."
He floated there on his back for a minute or two, looking up at the sky. He'd always been a pretty good swimmer, and had taught his little sister to swim when she was younger. And he'd always liked staring at the sky. He might not seem like the type to be interesting in something like that, but astronomy was so his favorite subject to talk about, except for maybe partying. Even during the day, the ske was just endless and he loved to watch it for hours, and never ever get tired of it. Luckily, his sister would lay down in their small back yard when they were younger and watch the open sky with him. She was just as intrigued by it as he was, and maybe even more interested, if that were possible. Only Braxton was way too lazy to actually study or go back to school to learned anything new about the stars and the sky. He didn't want to know about it, he just knew he liked it.
Braxton glanced at Tori, getting his mind off the sky to get back on topic. He hated when he trailed off like that. "Yeah, all my friends will drop everything, even things they probably shouldn't, just to go to a halfway decent party." He looked back up at the Lola then. "So, when does the party start?"

Lola waited for them to talk again before declaring that she would get in touch with Bosley. They were supposed to go on a 'date' tonight anyway. Their dates were more like girls' nights out because of the fact that Bosley had better luck with men that she did. That was another reason why she loved him so much.
"It looks like it's time to call Bosley then. Since it seems we're planning this party together do you guys wanna meet up somewhere once I get my phone and the DJ? Ooh, we should have a theme or something. Like, grundgy rocker bitches or country whiskey shooters or something awesome that'll make the West coast jealous. Well, that's not really possible. I've been to a West Coast beach party and it was pretty much amazing."
She felt her body get swept up by a wave and she ducked under before a larger one could push her forward into the pillar she was floating in front of. Granted, she had a very high pain threshold, but that didn't mean she enjoyed getting hurt. She needed her body for her work. If it was battered and bruised then she wouldn't get to work and then she wouldn't be able to pay her rent then she would be evicted and then she would have no where to make her clothes, which was even worse to her than living on the streets.

*Tori also ducked under, but she did so before the first wave even hit her. She could scene these kind of things. Partially because she could control water. Once the wave was past she popped her head back up and waited for Lola to let her head come back up as well. As soon as it was Tori spoke to both.*
Meeting some where is fine, where, and when?
*Inside she hoped for time to change into a swimming suit. Also possibly get something to eat, she was fairly hungry. Swimming and spending time in the sun always made people hungry, but since Tori was in the water ninety percent of the time, she was generally always hungry.*
And would would we have to pay for anything, and if so how much.
*That was important to know, because she didn't have any money on her, but she did have money at home. And if they had to pay for anything then she would have to go back to the mansion anyways. Then she could also tell some of the students, to make it a real party, hopefully they would be smart enough to realize that this was a normal party, and wouldn't make a big scene about their powers. Then they would be tied back to her and the entire mansion could be in trouble.*

Braxton also ducked under and then nodded when he came back up to the surface. "Themes are always fun... and I really like the country whiskey shooter idea," he admitted, getting a satisfied smirk on his face. Then he looked back to Lola and agreed with Tori's questions.
"Yeah, how much would all this cost? Might need to borrow some from somebody... and somebody who wouldn't mind if I didn't pay them back," he admitted. "And I don't know about you guys, by the parties I've been to were very expensive."
By that somebody, he most likely meant his parents. They didn't know about his mutant abilities, so they'd probably still be willing to give him free stuff. If they did know about his powers though he didn't know what to expect from them. They treated his sister like she had a disability or something, and then shipped her off to that fancy secret mansion for mutants. He kind of felt bad for her, but he'd kept his powers a secret, at least from his parents. His sister, however, had known since he told her a few days after he discovered them. But he'd sworn her to secrecy, of course.
"So," he got his mind back on focus, floating on his back in the water and staring at the sky, "Where and when?"

Suddenly, Lola had an idea. It hit her like a ton of bricks. At first, she merely looked dumbfounded, but in a matter of time, the dazed expression melted into a sly and happy smile.
“I have an idea…a brilliant idea. Give me half an hour, meet me under the pier so I can fill you in on and I’ll have everything ready for a bitching beach party!”
She ducked under the water and used the current to quickly reach the shore. Once there, she dashed back to her towel and dug through her beach bag until she found her phone. Once it was in her hand, she dialed a number quickly as she pulled her shorts and her tank top over her bikini, speaking business to the person on the other end. She had recently sold a collection of hers to Michael Kors, who had promised to let her choose when and where it would be showcased. All she had to do was call him baby a few times and remind him of his promise. Once she convinced him to collect as many people as he could and when asked about the after party, all she said was that he should dress for the beach.
The whole reason why she had even gotten the idea was because Braxton liked the country theme for the party. Country was the theme for her collection. Well, country with a modern twist. She rushed back to her apartment and in less than ten minutes, she had showered, done her hair up in a decorative twist, and pulled a dress of her own design over her head before pulling on her cowboy boots. If being quick wasn’t a perk to her ability then she never would have made it, but she arrived back under the pier just in time to see a large white tent being set up next to the bar. She was out of breath by the time she got back, but she was the only one there. Maybe the others had forgotten perhaps? She bent over and propped herself up on her thighs breathing heavily.
“I ran all this way for nothing?” she panted to herself, resisting the urge to plop onto the ground. She convinced herself to not do so with the realization that the sand would cost too much in drycleaning.

Braxton just watched as Lola took off. "Where are you going?" he called, but guess she wasn't going to answer. He cocked an eyebrow as she ran off. Then he just chuckled. "Might as well go toe the pier then," and as she said it, he ducked under the surface again and swan to the shore. Then he just stood under the pier, leaning against one of the legs holding up and waited. He was shivering for a while, but then once he dried off a little.
He was excited about Lola's party. He was sure it would be fantastic, Lola seemed to know a good bit about parties and themes and if she knew a DJ then that just added a big bonus onto it. He ran his hand through his hair, which was still soaked, to get it out of his eyes and then as he did, Lola returned panting her heart out.
He'd been behind the legs so she probably hadn't seen him. "Don't be ridicules. You ran all this way for a party, not nothing." He laughed and revealed himself. "Are you all right?" he laughed again slightly as she panted, looking like she was about to pass out. "Love the outfit, by the way."

When Braxton seemed to pop up out of nowhere, she spun around and hissed loudly at him, as if she were a cat who had been surprised, which in a small way she was. For a moment, her pupils morphed into ebony slits and her eyes nearly glowed a light ember hue. Once she noticed that Braxton was the one who surprised her, she shut her mouth quickly and looked down for a moment to urge her eyes back into their human form.
“Sorry about that. You scared me.”
Once Braxton brought up her outfit, that was it.
“Thanks. I got the boots for twenty dollars and designed and sewed the dress myself. And this is going to be much more than a party. This is going to be a fashion show produced by Michael Kors. The Michael Kors. And the best thing is…they’re all my designs!”
She glanced at the white tent and squealed excitedly again, hoping that Braxton didn’t think much of her hissing and her eyes changing like they had. It was a terrible side effect of her 'ability'. Sometimes she'd act cat-like without knowing it. Often she would wake up on a window sill or on the large beam that stretched the distance of her entire studio appartment. The odd thing was, she enjoyed sleeping in odd places. Her drink was a white Russian, only with the cream. Sometimes even she thought it was strange, but it was who she was and she was far from ashamed of it. However, that didn't mean she annouced it to the world.
