"Why fall off the radar? If I had a chance at a normal life, I'd take it for all it was worth."
He wasn't being sarcastic at all, to be honest he would completely give up his mutant powers if it meant he would be able to live a normal life. He looked to her again as she spoke about Rambo and calling him a movie geek. So he watched a lot of movies. What else is a teenager going to do when he's not practicing or doing homework. He was still a kid after all.
"Come on Rose, how about it? We can start having movie nights as soon as you're back out there."
He didn't really notice they were back in the hallway until he saw Merfonde and Apocalypse standing there waiting for them. Apocalypse continued to stand there as if nothing happened, waiting for the two to get near before he spoke again.
"So the prodigal son returns." Apocalypse said with a smirk, "So it will be a team of four then? How do we plan to get to this island that the two mutants are on?" he looked to Bobby in answer, but he just shrugged and looked to Rose.

"Weren't you paying attention to what I said earlier?" Rose sighed, shaking her head as if to call him an idiot. "I can't live a normal life. It's just not in me. I've tried to be normal, but everywhere I go something will happen to force me back into the fray. I'm not meant to have a normal life." The only life she'd ever known was one fill with wars and bloodshed. Normal wasn't possible for her, because, like Merfonde, Rose felt her she had to sacrifice her own life so others could have one.
She didn't respond to his movie night idea. Maybe, if things ended well she might take him up on his offer. For now though... It wasn't the time to be thinking about that kind of stuff.
Apocalypse was the first to speak up as soon as they returned, and it wasn't about what they'd been taking about apparently. Thank God. When the attention was on her though, Rose thought. "The Jet would be to obvious, but I think the helicopter would do well enough. But we'd have to get someone to fly us there, because landing it would take to much time. Not to mention the Nightmares could just destroy it if she did land it on the Island."

"ok ok just tossing the idea out."
He didn't press the issue any further, not wanting to start an argument with one of his friends. He stood with the four as they tried to figure out a way onto the island. He liked the idea of them being flown there, but if not the jet then a helicopter would indeed do it, but who do they know that would be able to fly it.
"Well the only one I know of that knows how to fly a helicopter is either Wolverine or Beast, but I don't know how we would be able to get either of them to just fly us there and not jump in."
He didn't really know where either of them were, which made things a little more difficult. Beast went to the Exile base to help Freya, but did he return yet? Logan hadn't been seen for over a month, which made Bobby wonder if his friend took another extended vacation to where ever he usually goes when he leaves. He walked over to the wall and leaned against it, crossing his arms as his back touched the wall and he thought about what to do.

Getting a pilot seemed to be more difficult then anything else in the plan. Most of the X-men that knew how to fly one wouldn't agree to just taking them there, and then picking them up. Every last one of them would want to be part of the team. Rose sighed. " What's worse is none of them would listen to reason and think I should be the one to stay with the helicopter because I'm the youngest." It was a sad and true fact. Some people thought she couldn't do anything the 'adults' could, when she was an adult herself!
Suddenly a name came to mind. "We could get Hazel. She knows how to fly one, and at least she's logical enough to listen to reason." Hazel very rarely went on missions, and when she did it was only because she was absolutely needed. Otherwise she stayed at the school where her skills were needed far more. She'd have no problem with only flying the Helicopter for them.
There was a risk that her 'inexperience' on missions might be a problem, but all she would be doing is flying the Helicopter, in only to drop them off and pick them up. The rest of the time she would be out of range, so none of the Nightmares could shoot her down.

"Hey yeah! She's perfect"
He smiled and pushed himself off the wall. He knew where to find her, so he gave Rose a nod and took off down the hall. The more he thought about the mission, the more he thought of what would be going on. It was a long while since he'd been on a mission. Apocalypse stood there with that half smile, watching Bobby take off down the hallway.
"We can let Hazel just drop us off. If this mission is a success, then we won't need to worry about leaving."
He smiled as he said this, knowing that if they were able to get in and get the other two mutants, all he had to do was use his own powers and levitate them all back to where they needed to be. He had only used that ability very few times to move himself around, but moving more then a few mutants through the air wouldn't be a problem.
"We will need to prepare ourselves for leaving, and make sure that we have everything we will need for the mission. I do trust that your friend Ian won't try and escape on his own."

The thought of what Ian might be up to... Oh she knew with out a doubt what he'd started planning the moment he realized he'd been captured. Ian didn't play the 'damsel in distress' well, and never bothered to wait for any sort of rescue. Usually that was a pretty good trait, right now though? Not so much. He'd been injured, which meant he really shouldn't be using his power all that much for the next few days until he was clear of danger. Knowing him though... He'd be already hatching a scheme to escape, and not realize just what this scheme would have on his health. "Sadly... He just might. That's why we have to hurry, otherwise he'll get himself killed. Not to mention the longer we wait, the more information they will be able to get from Crystal."
The Nightmares probably knew that the school was aware of their captives, but it probably didn't even cross their mind that the school might know their location. After all, the only people who knew where the Island was was either dead, captive, or to scared into revealing their location. Thankfully they assumed Rose fell under the 'dead' category. "I'll go to the helicopter and make sure everything is ready there." Rose ran off down the other hallway, to the even lower level of the Hangar.

Merfonde hadn't moved from her spot on the wall since Rose and Bobby returned. She was so still that you might even think she had died somehow! Finally though, when Bobby ran off in one direction to get the pilot and Rose went off in the other to prepare the helicopter, Merfonde lifted her head, her eyes opening. She gazed at the retreating pair for only a moment before shrugging away from the wall, leaning down to pick up the backpack she'd discarded earlier, and swinging it onto her back. "Well, I'm ready."
The backpack she always carried with her had all the supplies she'd need for any circumstance. Simply put, she almost lived out of the bag, never needing more then her equipment and a few spare clothes. When Rose had told Bobby that Merfonde had no home she hadn't been kidding. She could carry everything she owned in one backpack!
She turned, heading down the hall that Rose had ran down, deciding to wait with the helicopter while the others finished their own preparations. In the Hangar, Merfonde dug through her bag, pulling out machine parts that seemed to go together like a jigsaw puzzle. Quickly and efficiently, Merfonde easily assembled the 'machine', only to reveal it to to be a rifle. With out even looking she loaded a round of bullets into it, before setting it on the ground. Reaching into her bag against she started pulling out a wide assortment of things, most of the objects completely foreign to any of the mutants. When she finished though it was obvious that she meant business, daggers, guns, ammunition, explosives and other nick nacks strapped to her belt or hidden under her clothing.
All this was done in a matter of minutes, long before Apocalypse, Bobby, and Hazel would even be able to reach the Hangar. By the time they would get their, they'd just see her checking the scope on her rifle, making sure it felt right and she hadn't assembled it poorly. After all, she didn't want it exploding on her when she tried to fire it!

"The boy's bravery is commendable, yet foolish."
Apocalypse didn't admit to anybody, but he had grown a certain respect for Ian. Crystal had told him much about what the boy had done, from helping Iris and himself in the infirmary, to bringing down Cain's factory, to saving the brotherhood from the sentinels and beyond. If the boy wasn't so good hearted, Apocalypse would've enjoyed getting him brought into the brotherhood. He watched as Merfonde pushed herself off the wall, grabbed her bag and headed into the hanger.
"As am I."
He waited a moment before turning to join Merfonde in the hanger. He took a few steps towards the helicopter before he began to feel his powers fading. He looked down at himself curiously, then back up to the helicopter with an interesting smile. He took a few steps back then until he felt his powers returning. The helicopter was too small for five people to sit in, thankfully he didn't need such primitive machinery to help him travel.
"Ok, she'll be here shortly, she's just gotta check on Xavier first."
Apocalypse didn't move as Bobby walked into the hanger. He looked around for Rose, but decided that she was getting something else done. He shrugged it off and got into the helicopter, taking a seat in the back next to Merfonde. He looked at her and the equipment curiously, then couldn't help but smile.
"Do you watch Rambo?"

Merfonde propped the rifle against her knees before digging through her much lighter bag again. It was around that time the 'Ice-man' decided to take the seat next to her. She stopped her digging for a moment to look at him with a 'are you kidding?' look. After a moment of somewhat staring she looked back to her bag, finally pulling out a capsule, shaped like that of a regular pill container. There was no label on it, but Merfonde knew what it was the moment she lay eyes on it. "Do I look like I have time to watch TV?" unscrewing the lid she shook out six little tablets that looked exactly like medicine.
With out any hesitation she dropped two on Bobby lap. "Take those. Now." Stuffing the capsule back in the bag, she slid around Bobby to get out of the helicopter, separating two more pills in her hand and holding them out for Apocalypse. "You'll need them." There were only two pills left in her hand, and she set about finding Rose to give them to her. When she did, Rose just took them in silence, swallowing them before Merfonde had turned her back to her. With a sigh, Merfonde worked her way back to the helicopter, sliding back into her seat next to Bobby, and lifting up her rifle again, checking the balance on it this time.

Bobby sighed as she looked to him and asked her question. Does anybody watch movies these days?, he thought to himself. He wondered if that's what "growing up" included. He watched as she took out some pills and handed two to him and told him to take them, then went and handed two to Apocalypse then headed out the door. The two mutants exchanged looks, then proceeded to take the pills and swallow them. For Apocalypse it was easy, but for Bobby the pills tasted a little bland.
He didn't feel any different, even when Merfonde returned to the helicopter. The odd thing was, he didn't feel like anything affected him either, at least not when he began to smell her perfume again. Just out of curiosity, he tried to at least turn his arm into ice, and sure enough his entire arm began to freeze up. He smiled, flexing his fingers a bit before returning his arm to normal.
"Cool." he smiled, looking to her as his smile faded, "I know it might not matter but...thanks for the help. And...I'm sorry for all I said in the danger room, it wasn't right for me to judge."

Merfonde's inspection done, she once again propped the weapon up against her knees, resting her chin on her hand, elbow resting on the armrest. Only when Bobby started using her power did she glance out of the corner of her eyes at him, her expression near impossible to read. "I only gave you enough to last a couple hours, so don't go thinking this is permanent." Like she'd give any mutant a bigger dose then that. After all, just because they were an ally now didn't mean they always would be. It was unlikely Bobby or Rose would turn against her, but who knew what Apocalypse might do when the war was over. The friendship between him and the school lasted only as long as they needed each other. After that, they'd be back to being enemies.
She'd been sure to watch and make sure everyone swallowed both pills, just to make sure they didn't try sneaking one so they could manufacture the stuff. It was a trade secret, and if the mutants found out how the humans could negate their power, the humans would be screwed until they could come up with another formula.
Bobby's apology though almost seemed to go in one ear and out the other, little reaction on Merfonde's face. "Don't apologize." Her voice was stern. "I don't want to work with sissies who take back what they say just because they might have hurt someone's feelings." She rolled her eyes. Merfonde wasn't one to apologize, or take back anything she said to anyone. No matter how harsh she'd been to them.

"Got it, I'll keep that in mind."
He stayed quiet after that, waiting for Rose and Hazel to show up. What was taking them so long anyway. When Merfonde told him not to apologize, he couldn't help the half smile that formed on his face. She was beginning to remind him of Logan before he became part of the X-Men, at least from what he's heard around school.
Apcalypse stood outside, crossing his arms, growing impatient at Rose and Hazel's late arrival. Bobby just stared out the other window, looking at the wall yet looking at nothing in particular. He silently prayed that Ian was alright, and that he'd hang in there and not try to escape. He honestly didn't see anybody escaping off of that island. He glanced at his hand again, just out of habit from the perfume. He hoped that the affects of the pill would last at least until they were safely back home.
He tried to focus his thoughts on other things, keeping himself focused enough to be able to do the mission, but he couldn't help feeling that things were changing. He hoped this little war would be over soon, but he knew that even when they had stopped Cain, the war wouldn't end fully. That brought another thought to his mind.
"You said that there's other problems with mutants out there." he looked back to Merfonde, "I'd like to help. I know there's too much out there for just the bounty hunters to handle, but we can't do anything when we really don't know what's out there."

Rose had returned to the group, everything set for them to take off, the girl leaning up against the helicopter as they waited for Hazel to get there.
Merfonde just stared off into space in silence. If she'd known Bobby was comparing her to Logan she might have hit him over the head. But... Others might agree with him. Logan wasn't exactly known for being a sentimental person, and neither was Merfonde.
She also knew that the mutants might be having concerns as to how long the pills might work. One pill would last three hours, and just to be safe she'd given them all two, which meant they wouldn't be affected for up to six hours. But she didn't know if constant use of their power might shorten that time. Either way, they had to end it as fast as they could. After all, the pills still needed a bit more testing, not all of the effects known.
Only when Bobby spoke again, did she look back at him with that same blank look. "....." She finally blinked, and sighed, before shaking her head. "We can't just up and call you whenever we find a threat. With those sorts of situations, time is off the essence. You don't want the public to learn what's happened before you have time to stop it, otherwise everything will turn to chaos." She looked back at that spot she'd been staring at in the hangar then. "The only reason we find them, is because we never stop moving. We are always looking for trouble. The only way to help is to be out there looking with us, or have one of your telepaths keeping an eye out, and contacting us every time they find a disturbance." Merfonde paused for a moment. No one would really be satisfied with that answer, so she continued. "These kinds of situations, we don't have an hour or more to wait for back up, and even with your jet or this helicopter it would still take the X-men time to get there. The threat has to be handled in a matter of minutes."
Hazel entered the hangar then, just smiling softly to the gathered group, and pulled herself up into the helicopter, taking a seat at the controls. "I assume you'll be using your power to keep up with us, Apocalypse?" Rose was in the helicopter now as well.

"Took ya long enough."
He ed his little joke as Rose came running up. He smiled as he hopped down from the helicopter, figuring they weren't taking off until Hazel came. He walked around to the others when Merfonde started answering his question. He didn't really think of it that way, only that they would be able to share information.
He didn't say much after that, just stood there with the others waiting for Hazel to arrive. He was beginning to get a little impatient waiting for her, wondering what could be taking her so long. He remembered telling her about it and her saying she would as soon as she looked over Xavier. What could take so long to do that? Xavier's not getting worse is he?
As soon as he thought about it, Hazel came into the room and got into the helicopter. He smiled, ready to leave and was in the helicopter as well. When Hazel addressed Apocalypse, Bobby looked in his direction, never really knowing that Apocalypse could levitate himself. This should be fun to watch he thought to himself with an interested look.
"Indeed, Hazel. I find contraptions like this too confined for my taste." Apocalypse smiled as he did.

Hazel had just nodded, before starting the powerful helicopter. In only a matter of moments she had the thing ready for flight, the 'doors' hissing shut as it lifted off the ground. From inside, Rose gave the first direction to the Island, and they were off.
During the launch, Merfonde just watched with little interest. It was only when the flying machine was off the ground that she suddenly changed. Unlike the others, she was already in battle mode. The way she sat, the emotionless stare in her eyes. Already her guard was up, and she easily lifted the rifle into her hands, pointing it down at the ground. Little did Bobby know that as soon as the Island was in the sight of her scope, she'd already be on the attack. There were the motion detectors and other array of things that had to be dealt with if they meant to get on the Island 'mostly' undetected.
The flight was silent, the only person speaking was Rose who spoke up only to give the next direction. Soon they were over the ocean. With out any warning, Merfonde unbuckled her seat belt. "Don't get up." Her order was meant for everyone. And before they could even ask why, she'd used the emergency lock to unlock the door, forcing it open and leaning out of it. Most people would think she was nuts, even those who knew what she was capable of! But Merfonde knew exactly what she was doing. She hooked one of her feet on the seats, so her hands could be free, and hoisted the rifle up, her left eye closing as she stared intently through the scope, finger already on the trigger. A few moments passed where nothing happened, the only movement from Merfonde being the small movements of the rifle as she took aim. Then, she fired.
The sound of the shots were muffled by the raging wind, but there was no mistaking it. Shot after shot, she only stopped when she was forced to reload, in which she took only half a second to do so before the rifle was up once again, her finger pulling on the trigger every time she spotted her targets. Finally she lowered the weapon, pulling herself back into the helicopter, reloading it once more but not firing. "We won't have to worry about any of their motion sensors now." How she'd even spotted them.... Well it only said how much training she'd been forced through. A normal person wouldn't have even see them when they were on the island, and even if you knew they were there you'd have a near damn impossible time spotting them. And yet she'd done it from a helicopter, with a rifle.
