Rogue was unsure of how everyone would react. After all, she had had brown hair since she could remember. Now, it was curly, bouncy, and blonde. She was as shocked by the choice herself, but had quickly grown to like it. She had snuck away to a salon earlier and luckily didn’t kill her hairdresser thanks to latex gloves.
Fortunately, nobody was in the halls, thanks to classes. Her stomach complained to her and she smiled slightly before vanishing into the kitchen. She took off her gloves to prepare her lunch, pulling at the area of her hair where a vibrant white streak used to scream against her raven hair. She smiled in spite of herself when she could still see a faint outline of the streak, but it had become one of those things that couldn’t be noticed unless it was mercilessly hunted for.
Since there was no one else in the kitchen, she decided that the music selection was up to her. She knew that the majority of the school’s residents claimed to hate country music, even though she had seen dozens of them listening to it. She decided to listen to a CD she had made with a mixture of country songs. The one that she started out with was Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy by Big and Rich and before she could stop herself, she was singing along to every single word. Most thought that Rogue just had a Southern accent, but that wasn’t true. She was a country girl down to every fiber of her being.

Logan had just finished fixing the jet with Storm when he decided to clean himself up and get something to eat. After getting as much grease and grime off of his hands that he could, he made his way towards the kitchen. He stopped a few feet when he noticed a strange, yet familiar scent in the air. He was about to check out its source when the country music began to play.
He wondered who would be brave enough to play country in a school while Storm was still around. When he heard the singing, he couldn't help but give a chuckle. Rogue was back. He walked over to the doorway to the kitchen and leaned against the frame. He couldn't help himself as his the toe of his boot softly tapped to the beat of the music and her singing. When the music ended, he began giving her a small applause.
"Great singing voice kid. Love the new look."
He gave a small smile and a wink to Rogue, hoping that he was successefully able to catch her off guard.

When she heard Logan’s voice at the close of the song she couldn’t help but smile and shake her head. “No one was here. I’m allowed to sing as terribly as I like. Besides, I think yer just jealous because you aren’t the cowboy the song is talkin’ bout. If I wouldn’t kill him I would save a horse and ride a cowboy.” she teased, finishing washing a bunch of lettuce to make herself a salad.”
When he commented on her hair and winked at her she began to pull her fingers at it before looking down at the ends. “It’s gunna take some gettin' used to, but I like it. I’m pretty sure that some people are gunna have a heart attack when they see it. It’s just such a dramatic change.” She paused before beginning to cut up tomatoes. “You really like it?”

"Sorry, but I'm a few years older than you."
He smirked as he pushed himself off the doorway to help her make the salad. When she started to cut up the tomatoes, he grabbed a few carrots and started to do the same, taking one and biting into it as he did. When she asked him about her hair, he glanced over to her, his half smile still showing.
"Yeah, looks good."

"Everyone wants to save a horse an' ride a cowboy, with the exception of a few people who underestimate just how amazin' it is to be country. I would know, I live in the city and I've lived in the country so I know what I'm talkin' 'bout." She smirked and shook her head. "Logan, I think you might be too old for everyone, includin' Professor Xavier." Rogue was teasing, of course. She and Logan were like siblings. It was impossible for them to not tease each other.
She smirked. "I think Bobby will flip when he sees it. If he ever sees it. He hasn't been around in ages."

He couldn't help but smirk when she teased him about his age, giving her a playful nudge with his elbow. He took another bite into the carot next to him and placed the ones he had cut up into the salad. When she talked about Bobby being gone, he knew what she ment. Alot of members of the school were disappearing, whether by their own means or others.
"I'm sure he'll be back Rogue. He can't stay away from this place, I should know. I've tried."
He looked to her, giving his usual half smile again

Rogue smirked, but it faltered as her mind began to wander before she took a few radishes and began to slice them. “I don’t know if people will come back, Logan. I mean, could you blame them? It seems like everyone is out to get us lately. If this place wasn’t the only home I had sometimes I wonder if I would leave. But I know if I did then eventually people would find out what I’m tryin’ to hide. That and I know if I left I would be attacked by the Nightmares and the Brotherhood to join them, but I don’t agree with them and then they would either brainwash me or kill me. It wouldn’t shock me if Bobby never came back. It might break my heart, but it wouldn’t surprise me. He has a home and family that accepts him, something that a lot of us here lack.”
“Do you know what dressin’ s we got? I know there’s ranch, but I’ve sorta grown to hate it.”

"In case you forgot Rogue, his family was the one that called the cops on us." He turned and took Rogue's shoulders, turning her to him and making sure to touch the cloth, "This is home, and you are always welcome here, ok kid? We won't let anybody hurt you, I promise."
He smiled a bit, showing Rogue that he still cared about her the way he did when they first entered the mansion. He ruffled her hair a bit, giving a small laugh and making sure to take his hand away before her powers kicked in. He then walked to the fridge, digging through the bottles until he found where the dressing was.
"Well, we have french, Italian, ranch, western and...vinaigrette? Who puts that on a salad?"

She smirked and shook her head at this. “It was his brother who called the cops on us. His parents were still tryin’ to come to terms with the whole concept of their son bein’ a mutant, but I don’t think they rejected him. And I personally just think that his brother was jealous.”
When he spun her around she exhaled sharply and shook her head. “I know that Logan. That’s part of the reason why I haven’t gone anywhere.” When he ruffled her hair, her face scrunched together in distaste before she pushed his hand away. “You don’t realize how annoying that is, do you?” she stated, laughing lightly.
When he named the dressings she sighed and shook her head. “All of those sound gross to me. Do we have lemon juice? Or a lemon?

He smirked when she said it was Bobby's brother that called the cops. Unfortunately he didn't seem to feel the same way about the parents, especially after the look on Bobby's face later on that day, but he didn't push the issue. He continued digging through the fridge as she spoke of how annoying ruffling her hair was. He knew how much it annoyed her, it was one of the reasons he did it.
"Not sure we have lemon or lemon juice."

She sighed and shook her head.
"I'll just have it naked then."
She loaded her bare plate with the colorful creation they had made and she bit back a smile.
"So...speakin' of naked. I've heard the rumors. We shouldn't be expectin' a lil Stormverine creature runnin' round the mansion any time soon, should we?"
Rogue finally laughed, unable to keep the image from entering her mind. "That would be somethin' to be scared of."

He smiled a bit as she mentioned just having it plain. He stood up and closed the door, turning to face her as she spoke of rumors. He crossed his arms and gave her a stern look, showing that he wasn't finding her humor of the joke funny. Though the thought had crossed his mind on the kind of children he and Storm could have, her saying things like that didn't sit well with him.
"Rumors are rumors, Rogue, you should know that. Where have you been hearing these things."

Rogue rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Oh Logan. Would you rather I talk ta you 'bout this or gossip 'bout you? You know me, I ain't a gossip. I think rumors are jus' that, but when Kaia came into my room all confused 'bout hearin' 'noises of passion' in Storm's office after you went in there, I had ta say somethin' ta you. Kaia already promised she'd stay quiet and the girl's got a flare for theatrics, but she keeps her word. You can trust me, Logan."

He smirked and shook his head. He didn't know what it was about Rogue, but he knew that when ever she talked about people keeping their word, herself included, he knew that he could trust her. He just shrugged.
"Me and Storm are starting to become close, that's all."

"So...when did this start?"
Rogue was careful to not sound like she was prying. She was only curious. After all, Logan was like an older brother to her. To an extent, she did want to know what was going on. She ate a bite of her salad and kept eye contact with him as she waited for his response.
