Tim walked down the streets of New York, once more alone. He didn't know what had happened. He still remembered the day that Alex had met him, and he had managed to find himself back on that bench where they first officially talked. But now the bench was empty, and the friend he had made was gone. He didn't know where she was or what she was doing, but he only hoped she was alright.
He smelled the food coming from a nearby restaurant, and looked in the direction of the place where he had met Kaia. He still remembered the kiss, the touch and the voice of the girl that seemed to care for him even if he changed into a giant, green monster. He heard music coming from the place, but he knew that she wasn't in there. She was another person he hadn't seen that day.
He then thought about the day he had fought those giant robots at Kaia and Alex's home. It was there he had met Devika, a girl who had managed to not only summon strange monsters, but help him defend a home that neither of them lived or knew about until they saw it. He looked down at his feet and sighed, sitting back on the bench.
"Looks like I'm destined to be a loner." he said to himself, but hoped in his heart he was wrong

Angel slowly walked the streets and felt a swirl of emotions from everyone who walked by. Happiness. Concern. Lust. Greed. Love. Selfishness. But luckily, she didn't take them in. She was barely capable of comprehending her own emotions. But for some reason, Angel understood others. She soon stopped in her tracks and saw a guy sitting on a bench, alone. Loneliness haunted him, like a dark aura around him. She soon turned invisible and sat beside him, holding his hand, but she couldn't feel his warmth. Angel channeled hope through their touch.
"You'll find happiness somewhere...I know you will. Just don't give up on yourself." She whispered quietly. But she knew no matter how loud she shouted...when she was invisible, no one could hear her. But they felt what she was saying and found that her words were their thoughts.

He could almost just let the world disappear from him as he sat there. Everyone walked past him and didn't pay him no mind. Some of the parents walked by with their kids, and while the kids looked at him, the parents quickly pulled their kids away like he had some sort of disease. He just watched them, wondering why everyone was full of such hatred for one person, let alone a whole race. It made him feel all the more alone in the big world.
As he sat there, for no real reason, the lonliness began to slowly disappear, replaced by something he hadn't felt before. It was a feeling of hope, that something good will happen soon, that he shouldn't give up on himself just yet. He once again thought about Alex, Kaia and Devika, but this time he smiled. None of them would want him feeling this way. He sat back in the chair and looked up at the sky. He never really noticed how beautiful the day was.

Angel's eyes conveyed sympathy. Yes, she would always be alone in this world, but she didn't mind. Even if she did have someone, she wouldn't be able to feel them or touch them or taste their kiss. She took her hand away, but then her eyes looked into Tim's mind. A mutant...Angel came into contact with them once in a while, but not often. He had someone he loved...friends...and they were gone. She then got up and made herself visible again. She walked by, as if she had never sat by him, but then stood in front of him.
"Hello..." she said hesitantly. Angel didn't talk to people very often, but she felt that Tim needed someone to talk to right now. "You okay? You seem...sad."

Even though he felt a little of the warmth go away, he still had that little light of hope in his heart now. He looked up at the sky and smiled, giving the man upstairs a silent thank you. He always knew that with a little silence and some focus on his thoughts, that something would happen to bring his hopes up. He was brought from his thoughts when a stranger approached him, but something about her made him feel like she was a kind person.
"Hi. Yeah I'm fine, just missing some friends. How are you?"

"I'm glad to hear it. I'm doing fine as well, thank you. I'm Angel, by the way." She gave a small smile. Some of her emotions were coming out now. They always did after she helped someone. Satisfaction. Joy. Her chocolate, brown eyes saw into Tim's mind again and saw that he held onto that hope she had given him. Good, she thought. He needs that.

"I'm Tim, nice to meet you to." he scooted over, making room on the bench, "Would you like to sit down?"
He didn't feel right sitting there talking to someone when they were standing up. Made him feel awkward for some reason. He liked her name, Angel, like the ones he had read about so much in the Bible and heard about in church. He could still feel the warmth of the hope that he felt, not sure how it got there, but not wanting to let it go.

"Sure. Thank you." Her emotions had suddenly fallen away and that familiar feeling of numbness washed over her. She slowly sat down and turned towards Tim.
"You miss them? Your friends? Where are they now?" For some reason, Angel was so fascinated with Tim. He tried to be okay on the outside, but there were so many things that he tried to hide. There was more to him than meets the eye. She didn't meet people like that quite often.

He smiled when she sat down next to him. This scene was all too familiar, except the last time it was him and Alex, and he had to look down a bit to see her. Angel, on the other hand, was able to look at him without him needing to tilt his head. He just stared straight, looking into her eyes the way she did him. He could feel as if she was looking directly into his soul, and wondered if her name meant more then just a name. When she asked if he missed his friend, he nodded his head, but her next question was one that stumped him.
"That's just it, I don't know where they are. One day we were talking, and the next they just...disappeared."

Angel saw his loneliness again, but it was smaller than it was before. "I'm sorry..." In a way, when she looked at Tim, she saw herself. She had no friends, no relatives, no parents...nothing. Her own loneliness ached in her heart. Angel didn't even know who she was, really. But soon she pushed her feelings away.
"You know, I think you'll see them sometime. If they mean that much to you, then you must be the same to them. Hearts are connected when you become good friends...so your heart is connected to them. And vice versa." Angel wished she could say the same for herself. Yes, she met so many different people and helped them in their time of trouble. But...friends never came out of it. Let alone people she loved. But she smiled again, her emotions becoming suppressed again.
"I wouldn't worry. I'm sure you'll see them."

He couldn't help but smile as Angel spoke. Something about her made him feel like things were going to be ok, even when she asked and spoke about his friends. They had just met, but it was like they had known each other for a long time. When she mentioned that true friends were connected by the heart, and that he'd see them again someday, it made him smile even more.
"Yeah, you're right. I'll see them someday." he looked ahead, smiling as he did, then after a moment looked back to her, "What about you? Do you have any friends?"

Angel was the one stumped this time. For once in a long time, she didn't know what to say. Embarrassment and sadness rose to the surface. She looked down and smiled sadly. "I don't...really have many of those. I travel a lot...so I meet a lot of people, but I don't get to know them very well." Her previous emotions went down and Angel was neutral again.
"Is one of these friends...special to you? You seemed really down to be missing just any friend." Angel already knew this, but she couldn't help but ask Tim himself. For some reason, Angel wanted to talk to Tim normally...figure him out the old-fashioned way.

"Well, I can be one of your friends if you want."
He smiled as he said this, glad to know he had met another person around here. When she asked about one of his friends being special to him, he looked down, his cheeks reddening slightly. He scratched his cheek with a finger before answering the question.
"Well...all of my friends are special to me but...yeah, there is one that's more. I mean, I think she is. She says she can kill things with a touch cuz of some poison, but it hasn't affected me any."

Angel smiled at this. "Thanks...I appreciate that. That means a lot to me." Joy rose within her. She actually had a friend. Angel wondered if she did the right thing, making herself visible, but now she knew. She was glad.
When Tim talked about his girl, she kept smiling while looking ahead. "Well...at least you guys can touch. I can't feel anything." Angel looked at him with a knowing look. "You guys must be special if she can't kill you with her poison. You should go look for her if she disappeared."

"You're welcome. Anyone can use a friend."
He smiled when she did, and when she mentioned him finding his friend, he couldn't help but be curious about the thought. How would he be able to find Kaia or Alex. He hadn't seen Devika since the moment at the mansion. Which one would he look for first? It wouldn't be hard to find Devika if she still had her gryffon, and Alex is usually at the mansion. But what about Kaia, where would she be?
"Hmm...I am missing my friends, but how would I find them?"
