"I never had a good grade in english, anyway." Art found himself laughing as well. He deepened the mote with his hand. He took his hands And put them on Marons. Guiding her hands to make the second part of the castle. Slowly they both lifted the piece, placing it next to the first part.
Now the castle had a front gate and a neighboring kingdom. "Hmm, I'll add the water at the end and-" he was cut off by a giant wave forming a ways back. "I think our sand castle is at war," he told her, eyes fixed onto the giant wave.

Maron felt like shrugged. "At least you took English. Most my school has been home school." Which wasn't all that bad... but really did suck, because you tended to get picked on by the teacher a lot more, especially when you had grown up with the person.
She blushed again when he covered her hands with his own, helping with her section of the castle. Why was she blushing over a little contact like that when they'd already kissed twice? If she could stop it, she would have.
A puzzled look touched her expression when Phoenix suddenly stopped, his gaze focused out on the waves again. Curious, Maron quickly looked to see what it was he was so focused on. When she found it, and heard his words, she laughed, wanting to fall over. "I don't think our Sand castle can stand up to an enemy like that yet. It may need to surrender."

"It lived a good, lumpy, life." was all Art had a chance to say before the wave crashed onto the both of them. The ocean had brought some presents along with it. Slimy sea weed had made its way around Arts kneck, head, and torso. Some sandcrabs were ontop of the both of them, along with some other sea ceatures. At that point he just laughed and through seaweed at Maron.

“Not to mention short.” Maron had been expecting the wave, but not the gifts it brought with it. She squeaked in surprise, shaking off all their uninvited guests quickly, though was quickly splattered with some of Phoenix’s. She laughed, peeling off the seaweed.
Scooping up some of her own discarded seaweed, along with the seaweed he’d thrown at her, she quickly returned it. Instead of throwing it though, she plopped it right down on his head, as if it were a wig. Laughing, she rolled to her feet, quickly racing off into the waves again, wading in until she was waist deep.

Art's mouth hung open. He was definitely not expecting a head full of seaweed. "I hope you know... this means war," Phoenix said, scooping the seaweed of his head and plopping it onto hers while she got up. He stood up and raced into the water as well. They were both quite a funny site. Trying to race out into the water. Most people knew that it was hard to run, let alone race, into water.
He was also waist deep in the water. Which meant that he was farther out because of his height. All of a sudden he was under the water, collecting as much seaweed as possible. The texture of it made him shiver, slimy and wet. That also made it more fun. Phoenix was already racing toward her, flinging seaweed as he went.
It had been a really long time since he'd had any kind of fun. Especially not this kind. He was enjoying it to the fullest though. "Surreenderrr!" Art called out as he got closer to her.

“Oh, I know.” Maron couldn’t stop grinning as she ran, pulling the seaweed he’d deposited on her off her head and holding onto it tightly in her hand as she started searching for more seaweed. She’d managed to gather another handful when she noticed Phoenix ‘racing’ towards her, seaweed flying her way. Laughing, she turned to avoid a full on assault of seaweed. Great. More ammo.
Then he was ordering for a surrender. Like that would happen! With near two handfuls of Seaweed at the ready, she waited until he got into easy striking distance. “Never!” She flung the long, wet weed at him, both handfuls. If all went well? He’d be completely covered in seaweed.

It was an epic battle indeed. But in the end, Phoenix was overpowered. And yes, every part of him that wasn't submerged in water was covered in seaweed. He put both hands over his heart, acting like he was having a heart attack, or something along those lines. He staggered backwards,
"Cruel world.. cruel cruel world why do-" he said, speaking very dramatically before falling backwards. He was doing a pretty good job, being 'dead' as he floated in the water. Trying to be 'dead' in the ocean wasn't a good idea. Another rood wave rolled him at least four times. Washing him up onto the shore.
Now he was laying on his back. Just looking up at the sky and laughing. Breathing heavily. That had been some war.

Oh, Maron’s sides hurt from laughing so much. His dramatic acting, his dramatic speech, and of course, his dramatic ‘death’. It was all too much. She was almost doubled over from laughing so hard, unable to breath at all between the laughter. Oh God.
The wave that sent Phoenix sprawling up onto the shore also knocked Maron clean off her feet. Thankfully she’d been able to get her footing again before it washed her up anymore. Laughing, and grinning, she came running out of the water, collapsing on her knees beside him. “I think you’re the one who has to surrender now!”

"I don't think I've ever drank so much saltwater in my life." Phoenix said, laughing so hard he could feel an eight pack developing. For a whole year he'd went to the Jim in the institute everyday. Pumping as much metal as possible and it had paid of. Now he was quite muscular himself. Doing curl ups for hours upon hours had given him a well formed six-pack.
"I'm dead remember, how can I surrender," he said, still having no control over his own laughter. "Maybe I'm a ghost now.. if so, then iii surrrennderrrr" he said, trying to sound spooky and ghost like. Now he just lay there, the soaked fabric=c of his shirt rising and falling with his heavy breathing and laughter.

Maron had to agree. She'd never spent this much time at the beach to begin with, let alone swallow as much salt water as she had. "You and me both." Maron rolled onto her back next to him, sighing as she relaxed. Such a warm day... Such a perfect day, well other then the whole threatened by Phoenix's sister, but that was long behind them. She wished it would never end. One, because that would mean parting with Phoenix, and two, she'd have to face Xenthron's wrath when he chewed her out for stealing his bike.
If Maron had been able to, she'd still be laughing. As it was, she was all laughed out, her sides killing from far to much of the sound. "I guess that makes you a pirate ghost!" She paused, taking deep breaths to stop herself from panting. "Wait, if you're a pirate ghost, what am I?"

Phoenix was finally abie to stop laughing, for a little while at least. What was the time, five O'clock? Why did the day have to end so quickly? The sun was setting now. Casting that golden-orange glow in the sky. Now that was romantic.
"Well you were my hostage... but now since I'm a pirate ghost, I guess that makes you captain of the ship." Art said, chuckling. He would have been laughing but that would have hurt his stomach too much.
"Wonder how far we are from civilization..." Art said, looking up at the sunset. Maybe they could get something to eat, without getting mugged?

As the sun began to set, Maron couldn't help but open eyes and watch. So pretty.... They never had sunsets like this back home. The way the red glow of the sun played off the water.. It was mesmerizing. Now she really wished time would stop for them, so she could just watch the sunset forever. She was propped up on her elbows now. "Beautiful...."
She smiled when she was dubbed the captain of the ship. Awesome. Now she was a pirate. "Yay." Maron sat up the rest of the way, sitting cross legged in the sad. "Hm...." Her eyes started to scan the horizon, careful to avoid getting anywhere close to eye contact. There was one good thing about being with the Runaways for so long. You didn't get lost very easily.
She pointed towards the West. "That way. Not to far, I'd think. But I'm not great at judging distance..."
