Hazel's face was completely drained of all color, which was never a good sign. When you took a doctor by such surprise that they almost went into shock, it was going to be horrible news.
"Do you remember... Jacklyn Everest?"
Ian might not be familiar with Jackie's full, real name. She'd dropped the last name years ago, going by Jacklyn, or Jackie, Silence.
"You know. The girl who was in a wheelchair. Anti-social, but an excellent student? Who no one dared to get on her nerves?" For obvious reasons. She'd torture them if they messed with her. "Ian just said... He says she's with Cain."
She looked back to Ian, shock still written on her face. "What do you know about her, Ian? Was she brain washed, like you were?"

"Yes I remember her. The last student who tried to get involved in her affairs ended up . Why?"
The color drained from Ian's face as well. The , Jackie, was one of them? When Hazel told Hank that Jackie was with Cain, Hank almost fainted himself. The color would've drained from his face if he wasn't permanently blue, a soft "good lord" came from his mouth. Ian looked from one to the other, then looked to Hazel when she spoke.
"I...I don't know. She was there when we got there, Alex and me."

Hazel's mind was reeling. What were they supposed to do NOW?! "Oh God.... That explains how Cain... How he got in here!" The nerve gas, Faith's death. An outsider wouldn't have known how to get into the school so silently! Jackie had told him how to get in!
"Ian... What was she doing? How was she interacting with Cain?" She was looking at him intently now. They needed answers. "Was she like you and Alex?" Jackie hadn't being all that different for an X-student. But there had been... small signs. Fits of aggression, her creepy fascinations with medieval studies, if they dealt in murder. She had been the only one in the school able to name every form of torture and execution!

"No, she wasn't acting like Alex or me, she wasn't standing there. She said something about...something about a surprise. No! Two surprises, and then...and then she gave him Meav!"
He was remembering everything to the last detail now. He wasn't sure of the meaning behind it all or the surprise she was talking about. He then remembered something that really threw him off. Even as he thought about it now he shuddered.
"He...he kissed her."

Hazel literally collapsed back into the chair, a hand covering her mouth as if she might be sick. "Oh God...!" She slowly looked back to Hank, her eyes wide with horror and shock. The one student no one had messed with, was on Cain's side. She knew the school inside and out, not to mention to was brilliant. The woman had stood mountains over near all the other students. But only that, she knew how to use her brilliance. Oh, was she clever. So... terrifyingly clever.
"She is there... willingly." She really looked green now. "Someone has to go tell the Professor! Things are going to get very dangerous, and fast." She paused, finally the green color to her skin fading a little. "We will.. Need to tell her brother as well." She paused again, looking at Ian and trying to smile. "He's an X-Men." Jackie had left the school as soon as she graduated.

Again Ian looked from one to the other, Hazel now looking more sick then Hank. When Hazel mentioned somebody telling the professor, Hank was out the door in a flash. Ian watched as Hank left the room, then looked back to Hazel as she smiled at him. He just looked at her confused, still not sure, and a little hazy, on what's going on.
"I...I don't understand. If she went to this school, then why is she with Cain? I thought people came to this place to help others with their powers."

Hank was already off to tell the Professor. Good. The sooner the school was alerted, the less harm Jackie could do. Of course, she could still do plenty of harm... But at least she wouldn't be able to get into the school with out any suspicions.
"Ian.... Jackie was a... special case. Her brother was already a student here. When she was thirteen or so... Someone tried to kill her. They buried her alive. Students at her school. Her parents... forcibly brought her here, for her own safety. We always knew she didn't like this place, but enough to join Cain?" She sighed, shaking her head. "Jackie is probably after revenge."

He got the fact of how a school can turn on someone and parents forcing students to come here. But how can someone manage to be so cruel to join a man like Cain. He quickly remembered that Hazel said her brother was here. He got a little worried with that one.
"She has a brother? Here? Is he like her?"

Hazel chuckled softly, her sickness passed. She shook her head, knowing what Ian might be thinking. "No, no. Mike is nothing like Jackie. He'd do anything to save the school, even if it meant fighting his own sister. No, Mike and Jackie haven't gotten along in years. They haven't even spoken since they graduated. He's completely normal. He's off in Africa right now, helping villagers that are being affected by flooding."
Finally she paused rubbing her temples with both hands. "I hate to say this... But Jackie's choices... Don't really surprise me. She wasn't the nicest person in school. But, for her to go to such an extreme...." She shook her head, burying the thoughts and changing the subject. "I'm sorry for having to keep you tied down like this Ian. But, until someone can verify you're really free of the brainwashing, we can't risk that chance. I hope you understand."

"Yea...I understand."
He sighed as he laid down on the bed, everything registering in his mind now. Jackie and Cain were working together, and maybe even the Nightmares to. Hazel seemed more worried about Jackie joining Cain then anything else, so she must be bad. He looked down at his bonds, feeling the restraint no matter how much he tried to break it.
"Someone better hurry up...I think I need to go....you know."

Hazel just about face slapped herself at Ian's words, shaking her head. "Oh yeah. You're back to normal." She sighed, trying not to laugh. "I bet the Professor will be coming back with Hank, so you probably won't have long to wait.
Hazel suddenly paused, sighing again. "Hank had best hurry though." She rose from the chair, going to refill her cup of coffee. She was completely exhausted. It was only six in the morning, and she'd had only two hours of sleep. It didn't help that she'd had to pull an all nighter the night before. "The Professor might want to meet with you have we release you. I'm sure he will want to know everything that happened. The more we know about Cain, the better our chances of stopping him." She paused. "And with luck, we can rescue Alex from his control as well."

He smirked when he heard her laugh. It seemed he was back to normal, cracking his usual jokes. He felt better than he had before, and when he saw Hazel heading back for a cup of coffee, he couldn't help but watch with sympathy. When she came back and mentioned Xavier needing to talk to him, he nodded his head. There was only one more question he needed to ask.
"Hazel...how is she?"

Hazel almost hesitated when he asked how Rose was doing. Taking a moment to collect her thoughts, she took a long gulp of the hot beverage in her hands. "She's doing... Well." She paused, turning the hospital bed Ian was on, and inclining the end his head was at. He would be able to see through the window of the private room. Parker and Sky were there, obviously, and Rose lay as still as could be, hooked up to several machines to keep her healthy.
"We are still trying to determine what caused her coma. But, if I were to guess? The amount of drugs she was given were... to much for her body to handle. There was enough to easily knock out a man twice her size. So on someone her weight?" She sighed, shaking her head. Of course.... Rose didn't want to wake up, but Hazel wouldn't tell Ian that. He'd only fall into even more of a slump. And for Rose's sake, he needed to be strong.

He knew she was hiding something, he had been around people long enough to know she was. What was it that was going on that she didn't want him to know. He watched as she turned his bed and rose the end where his head was so he could see. He watched through the window, looking at Rose through the window.
"Is it really my fault? I know she wouldn't be in there because of me."

Hazel frowned, wanting to hit the boy for slumping again. "No. It is not your fault." If things kept going the way they were, she just might have to beat the fact into him. He couldn't blame himself for this. Sky and Parker could blame him all they wanted, but he had to know for himself that they were wrong.
"It's Cain's fault. And he'll pay for everything he's done in due time." She paused, sitting in a chair again and taking another sip of coffee. "Cain could have done this himself, or had one of his other lackeys do it for him. No, I reckon he wanted to hurt you both. Rose feels betrayed, and you feel at fault. He wants to drive a wedge between you two." She paused again. "You remember what your combined forces did to those Sentinels, right? Cain doesn't want a repeat of that. And you're letting it happen."
