Tari walked along the dirty city streets, looking for something to do. Freya had left her for her new lover, Rory and Tari was just plain annoyed. Why would Freya leave her to hang out with a guy she didn't even approve of yet?! Ice formed with each of her steps, still furious with her own sister. But she kept her power under control, not wanting to cause a disaster. Tari continued walking, her strapless long, sleek, black dress hugging her form as she walked, causing some men to stop and stare. New York City was full of men looking for a partner tonight, but Tari was just there to sulk. Suddenly, it began to rain and Tari looked up in frustration. "Dang it! I didn't mean to do that..." Maybe her power was slipping a little.

He continued to walk along the streets towards the motel, when he noticed someone heading in the opposite direction. His curiosity for this person grew when he noticed the ice forming at her feet when she walked. He noticed the men looking at her, and couldn't help but have his own attention drawn. When it started to rain and the girl looked up towards the sky, he sighed. Another damsel in distress was his only thought as he walked up to her.
"'scuse me, cher, but would you care to join me someplace out of the rain?" his cajun accent unable to be hidden as he spoke, it was the only thing he could think of to say at this point.

Tari blankly looked at the man who approached and offered her to join him somewhere away from the rain. She was still sulking and wanted any company at the moment. She nodded with a small smile and walked with him into a hotel lobby nearby.
"You pick up girls very often?" She said with a playful smile. Tari kept oozing out her power, letting out her stress of holding back her enormous power and the result was a large rainstorm outside. Numerous people out on the streets were seeking cover from the rain.

He gave her a smile as she nodded and escorted her to a nearby hotel lobby. Many people were piling in out of the storm, and he couldn't help but notice that it was the same hotel the young boy had given him the address for. He gave an inward laugh as he tought of the timing of the rain. The storm had grown feirce as they entered and he pulled out a chair for her to sit.
"Only the attractive ones." he gave a half smile as he took off his hat, letting his hair fall down onto his shoulders.

Tari slowly sat down in the chair the gentleman offered and kept her smile. This guy was quite the charmer and she really liked that about him. Tari wondered if he was a mutant as well. That would be wonderful. The storm continued and she felt relieved. Storms really helped her stress level, especially ones caused by herself. Freya was just being plain annoying...Tari had to watch her all the time, so that she didn't destroy things.
Tari then realized that he had a Cajun accent. "I'm guessing you're from New Orleans? Or somewhere in Louisiana?" She smiled. "The view of the ocean there is magnificent."

He looked out as the rain fell, enjoying the sound of the water. Even in New Orleans he was always one to enjoy a good rain storm. The only difference was, every time there was rain, he was winning another hand of cards. He looked to the woman across from him and couldn't help but laugh a little when she mentioned his accent.
"Ah, you've found me out, cher," he said, bowing as much as he could while he sat, "Remy Lebeau, at your service. Yes the ocean view is a sight to see, even when the sun is settin'."
He reached into his pocket, taking out the deck of cards he had before. He began doing some tricks with the cards, causing them to fly through the air from one hand to the other, and even shuffling them left to right, one hand to the other. He continued to look a the woman, studying her intently, that half smile still on his face.
"And I'm guessin' you be from France. A close relative from us Cajun folk."

Tari nodded when Remy mentioned her being from France. "Yes, I am. I'm Tari Elensar. It's very nice to meet you, Mr. Lebeau." She watched the rain outside, pleased with her handy-work. The rain was making the surroundings glisten and sparkle. When it rained, the world turned into a magical place, where romance and imagination ran amok.
Tari noticed Remy playing with the cards and smiled her playful smile. "You gamble, Mr. Lebeau? I guess that shouldn't be surprising, considering you're from New Orleans."

"The pleasure is mine, Tari."
He took Tari's hand, bringing it to his lips and kissing her wrist before letting it go. He watched the rain outside as well, loving the sound of the water hitting the pavement. It almost reminded him of his home, and he couldn't help but feel a little homesick. Thankfully, he was brought back to the conversation when she asked about him being a gambler.
"Indeed I am. Folk's call me Gambit, and I've never lost a game." he smirked, giving her a playful wink.

Tari smiled and blushed slightly at Remy's wink and kiss. She continued to watch her work outside. "Wow, that's quite the accomplishment, Gambit. I've actually never played myself." She then turned to him with a dazzling smile.
"You wanna come to a party? My sister and I are throwing a party..." But suddenly, she was cut off when a group of men came into the lobby wearing black outfits.
You. Elensar woman. You'll be coming with us. It looked like a group of powerful mutants. They suddenly advanced on both Remy and Tari. Tari was a little concerned, because if she used her powers, she would be consumed by them. But apparently she had no choice...

"Well my schedule's a little full at the moment, but maybe I can teach you sometime, perhaps at this party."
He smiled at her, though wanting to find Logan and tell him what he had missed, but he had met Tari and he decided that her company was more pleasant. Besides, if Logan really was at this school, then chances are he was going to be there a while. It was at that moment that the black outfits had begun advancing on them. He looked to Tari, giving her one more wink.
"I'll handle this one, cher." he stood, standing up and shuffling cards as he did, "Now boys, let's not cause a fuss in this fine establishment. How about a game of cards instead, in fact," his eyes flashed red, "I'll deal."
He held out the deck in his hand, which seemed to glow once he did. He tossed the cards into the air, holding his other hand out with his palm flat and facing up. The cards moved over his shoulders and down his arm, at the mutants and exploding on impact. Each one flying backwards as they were hit.

Tari just looked on in surprise as Remy stood up and fought off the people coming to get her. Obviously he was a mutant, by the way he handled his cards and how his eyes glowed red. She admired Remy and how he handled himself with these guys.
Each of the mutants tried to fight against Remy, but as they got hit by the cards, each of them went down, groaning as they writhed on the floor from the impact. Soon, they got up and ran out, obviously not prepared for what was going on. Tari just giggled. Apparently these guys were low-level or mid-level mutants or Remy was just that strong. Tari stood up and walked towards Remy and gave him a small kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks, Mr. Lebeau. I'll make sure to contact you about the party. Although, I have to warn you, my sister will be there. Prepare yourself." She then walked back out into the rain, having no objections to getting wet. She loved the smell of the rain as it cleansed the earth.

"Naw don't run now, the game's just gettin started."
He smiled as the mutants ran out of the building, but wasn't expecting the kiss on the cheek. When she thanked him and told him about the party, he just nodded his head, but he couldn't help but chuckle when she said to watch out for her sister.
"Please, call me Remy." he smirked as she exited and disappeared in the rain. He walked to the man who was working and basically trembling behind the counter. He placed some money on the counter and smiled. "How much for a room."
"You...you're a mutant." the be
"Yes"
"You...you ran those others out of my hotel."
"and?"
"Here, take your money. It's on the house." the man said, handing Remy his money back. Remy pocketed the money and tipped his hat to the man.
"Much obliged, sir." he said, then walked up the stairs to his room for the night.
