Rose stopped, her whole body freezing. What the hell was she doing?! Fear instantly started to show in her eyes. Why... Why did she want to kill Ian?! What sort of person had she been before now, to have these kinds of thoughts?! She took a step back, her eyes wide as saucers as she tried to hold back the boiling anger again. Something... Someone.... had trained Rose to kill so mercilessly?
She dare not try to speak, her hands covering her mouth, tears welling up in her eyes. The emotions.... wanting to kill Ian were building again. He tried to kill you first.. She didn't know that! He'd been going after Cain, hadn't he? Then why did Cain have to shield you? That thought.... Cain had protected her... She'd seen it...
Then, just like that, those emotions had control again, tossing aside her confusion and terror. Show no weakness.... End those who wish to harm you. Rose's hands lowered as she took several steps towards Ian. "If I'm not like them... Then why do I want to kill you? Why won't I feel anything if I do?" A force field surrounded Ian, blocking any escape he might try.

Cain stood there, watching and waiting for her to do something. He saw the look of horror on her face as she began to stall. He was beginning to grow irritated, but he held it back, knowing that he had to keep calm or lose her. He was close to getting Rose, and when she lowered her arms, her eyes and the look about her showing a true Nightshade, he just smiled.
Ian's fear began to grow as he saw the force that shielded him from Cain now closing around him, trapping him. Oh this is not good. Think, Ian, think! he scolded himself as Rose walked up to him. She wanted to kill him? That definitely wasn't the Rose he knew, not this one. He had to think of an answer now, or lose her completely.
"Rose, your family is filled with ers. The only good ones are Parker and Sky, and the Nightmares are trying to stop them. Don't listen to him, please. You're better then this, you have to believe me!"
"Rose," Cain once again spoke, "we need to hurry before the others get here. You must end this soon or there will be no point to me coming."

Rose's true feelings didn't waver her this time. She was in fight mode. Kill, or be killed. The world won't show you mercy, so don't show it mercy. This is what she was trained to do. She took another step, the force field moving so quickly it slammed into Ian with enough force to throw him backwards. The force field vanished then, but reappeared seconds later, smashing into him again, to send Ian colliding with a strong tree.
The force field started to smash him, pushing him closer and closer to the tree, So much in fact that you could hear the tree starting to give way. "There's no such thing as good or evil..." She almost sounded like she was in a trance, repeating phrases she had been taught from birth. "Only kill or be killed..." The look in her eyes.... It was as if she wasn't even seeing Ian anymore. He wasn't a person in her eyes. The Training taught you not to look at your enemies as people. They don't have feelings. THey don't have families. They just need to be disposed of.
Rose stopped when she heard Cain tell her more would be coming. She didn't have to be told twice. The force field trying to crush Ian eased off a little, before seeming to ram him with twice the force. So much force that the tree was crushed under the pressure.
Her barrier vanished. If that hadn't killed him, he'd be severely hurt. And as Cain said, they didn't have time. No time to find out... She turned, slowly walking back towards Cain, still in training mode, emotionless, dark, and obviously dangerous.

Something snapped inside Rose, and before he knew it, he was being blasted off of his feet and onto the ground again. He had little time to get up before he was launched back again, this time against a tree. He felt like his back shattered, but that was quickly replaced by the excruciating pain that came from being crushed against the giant tree. He cried out, even as Rose spoke, pushing against the force crushing him, but knowing it wouldn't move.
He could feel his bones being crushed, some even breaking. Suddenly his body jerked as he felt something snap inside of him, a trickle of forming at the corner of his mouth. His vision grew blurry and with the last couple slams against the tree, more breaking sounded from inside him and he blacked out. When the barrier dropped, his body stood like a zombie for a moment. More fell from his mouth until his chin was crimson, then he fell to the ground motionless.
"Well done, child. Let's go home." was the only thing Cain said.
He turned and walked into the woods, leading Rose to where she would be spending her time, until he was prepared to introduce the new Rose to Shadow.
