The True Test (Cain, Sky)

Cain had been expecting this, knowing she would try something else. As the orb began pushing against his attack, a massive chunk of the floor she was standing on quickly shot up towards the ceiling. The first attack lowered into the ground as the floor rose quickly, he was going to crush Rose, plain and simple. His voice echoing through the door.

"Such a pity, and to think Ian didn't last that long."

His chuckled echoed through the room, knowing that the comment would get her. Even the way she was, he knew Ian was a sore spot to her. He was her friend, and she thought she had killed him. He didn't tell her that Ian was alive, he wanted to savor the anger and pain he would cause her.

"How does it feel to be a er Rose? A er of your own friend?"

[Rose North]

Again, Rose was surrounded by a sphere as she was sent crushing towards the ceiling. No matter how hard he pushed though, he wouldn't be able to crush the shape. Then... Cain had said that name. Rose didn't move where she was being crushed, her body seeming to freeze up.

That name.... Shadow had tried to make her forget it, she'd almost succeeded. Rose had tucked away all the feelings cause from hearing the name, removing it from her thoughts so it didn't plague her. Hearing it brought all of it crashing back down on her. Her bare of emotion expression cracked, terror suddenly coursing through her veins.

Sky had said Ian would be alright. Had she lied, to make Rose feel better? She'd really.... killed Ian?!

Rose seemed to snap, just like that time on the school grounds when Cain had come for her, Cain would recognize it. Only this time, her instability was directed towards him. "Shut up..." Anger was flooding her whole being as cracking could be heard. The Sphere protecting her leaped out, expanding out so quickly it literally tore the steel pushing her into the ceiling to pieces.

Rose dropped to the ground, free of his attack, anger written on her face, the black matter of hers cracking around her as it took hundreds of shapes at once. If only he would come out of the steel room....

"Poor Ian, because of you." his voice spoke, followed by a laugh, "How pitiful he looked lieing there."

He knew he was getting her, even as the pillar and ceiling seemed to and break. His face could be seen from across the room in the wall, it smiled at her and then disappeared. A chunk of wall struck out from behind her. He was taunting her, striking out at her with his voice as much as his attacks.

"I wanted to kill him myself, but you did it for me. Congratulations, you really are a Nightshade." he spoke, that laughter echoing from the walls. He had found her weakness, and now he was exploiting it.

[Rose North]

Rose was beyond angry. She wanted him to come out where she could see him so she could kill him. Se wanted to take it all out on him. That little self control she'd had was long gone, the stability she'd learned during the week with cracked.

"SHUT UP!" She screamed, Shadow having taken Sky out of the room when she saw Rose breaking down. Best to stay clear.

Well, if he wouldn't come out where she could see him... She'd just attack everything. Rose was losing it. Cracking could be heard, and Cain would feel something happening. The dark matter Rose was controlling was drilling into the metal walls, floor, and ceiling, trying to tear it to shreds, take away his hiding place. Around Rose it was worse,those explosions she used at the school going off around her, only they were much bigger, faster, and stronger. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" It started getting worse, Rose's only thoughts being to destroy everything that was in this room.

"You're a er, Rose. That's all you'll ever be, and poor Ian is now because you killed him."

His voice echoed as the room began to tear apart. He needed to get out of there, but thankfully the metal that held the room was also part of the island base. Cain stepped out of the wall near Sky and Shadow, looking to Shadow with a cruel smirk. He had won, simply by causing Rose to remember a that never happened.

"She needs work."

He smiled cruelly at Shadow, reaching out and touching Sky's face lightly. As Rose began tearing up the room inside, Cain just started walking towards the entrance to the island. He chuckled at how easily Rose fell, that chuckle turning into a full laughter as he exited the Nightmares base, disappearing from sight.

[Rose North]

Rose's rage went on for a few moments, until she could no longer heard Cain's voice. Where had he gone? Had he left? Suddenly all her build up emotions exploded. He was the one causing all this! So he'd pay for it...

The door to the door went flying off the hinges, flying across the room and bending under the pressure. She sat on the floor again, almost fuming. Why.... Why couldn't she get passed that?! Why had it taken something as small as mentioning that name to make her lose it?!

She felt no emotions other then anger right now, such a burning rage that her mind seemed to be screaming, probably hurting Sky's ears if she were monitoring Rose's thoughts. Through out the entire base Rose's black matter started to appear everywhere smashing whatever it could get it's hands on... Including the entrance to the cave right before Cain had reached it, blocking his escape. He'd soon start hearing the explosion, the smashing... The ground was almost shaking from her assault.

All the while, Shadow stayed near Sky, just smirking. Oh, how Cain was wrong. It wasn't over yet. Rose was just getting started.

Seeing Cain fighting Rose was interesting to watch. She knew Cain wouldn't seriously injure Rose and that Cain was strong enough for anything that Rose would dish out. But that didn't stop Sky from wrapping her arms around her in pain. She was doing everything in her power not to let her power out of control again. Today was her worst day for mood swings. Instead of focusing on the battle between Rose and Cain, she saw a chair nearby and started walking towards it. But immediately stopped when Cain mentioned Ian's name. Oh God...that would definitely get to Rose. Sky could literally feel Rose falling apart, becoming unstable again and Shadow then walked her out of the room.

"She's become powerful, Shadow. You really know how to pull out her potential." Sky smiled with pride at her sister's power. But she was grimacing as she tried to keep her power in control. "God...this pregnancy is wearing on me." Sky's breathing became hard as she clutched her stomach.

Soon, Cain materialized out of the wall with a cruel smile on his face. Obviously he had beaten her and taunted her with Ian's death, but they both knew very well that Ian was alive. But Sky knew Rose wasn't done yet. Her eyes narrowed in pain as she felt Rose's mind, unstable and angry, wanting to kill Cain. "It isn't over yet, love."

"Let her try and get me, my darling. I'll see how she handles things out in the open."

He knew he had gotten under her skin, but he had no idea how deep. When he heard the door breaking and shattering, he turned towards the noise. Black spheres were exploding all over, causing avalanches, explosions and mutants running everywhere. He just chuckled and turned, heading up towards the entrance.

He stopped when the ground shook, the entrance now blocked by mountains of rock. He looked behind him, hearing Rose coming closer. He chuckled, placing his hand against the wall. His form shifted to the material once more, allowing him to walk through the wall and out into the open. He looked around for something he could use, and saw the ocean. He chuckled once more, walking towards the water and melding with it before Rose even reached outside. Once she got out, she would see nothing but the open ocean.

Rose hadn't left the room until her anger got to such a point that she started to give chase. He had quite a head start, and no one moved to stop her, not even Shadow. It was a horrible feeling for those at the base, feeling it being torn apart by some unknown force. They knew it wasn't Shadow or Sky. It meant another Nightshade was angry, and this one didn't have the self control to stop.

Cain was long gone by the time she'd reached the entrance that she'd collapsed. With little effort her dark matter slammed into the rumble clearing herself a path. Nothing was out here... Just ocean. Miles upon miles of clear ocean. And Cain was already gone... No one was stopping her... Why wasn't anyone stopping her? Slowly, she approached the edge of the land... staring down at the water before stepping towards it. A bridge of dark matter started to grow from under her foot, growing longer with each step she took.

Rose... was loose on the world....

((Yup, she's gone. *evil grin*))

His form stepped onto the island once more, watching in the distance as Rose left. He just chuckled as he watched her walk away. Shadow had messed up, putting her and Cain against each other. Rose was now loose on the world, and nobody can stop her. Cain didn't want to anyway, he wanted to watch the world burn and enjoyed being the instigator if not the cause. He chuckled and laughed once more, walking back inside.

He walked down until he came up to Shadow and Sky, that smile still on his face. He had one, not by defeating Rose, but by causing her to lose control of her power and send her off into the world. It's not what he had intended when he stepped into the ocean, but it works just the same. He walked up and crossed his arms, standing in front of the two Nightshades, that evil smile and glint in his eyes showing greatly.

"It seems your pupil will get to see the world sooner then you wanted."

Sky then looked at Cain, nodding. But she stepped away as Rose emerged from the room. When she realized that Rose was leaving, Sky just watched her go in longing, not able to go after her. Maybe Ian would find her or someone else could take care of her. She didn't care if Rose caused damage in the world. Sky could care less...let the world burn.

She groaned in pain, her power suddenly spiking. The pain was unimaginable! She screamed in pain, trying to keep back her power from hurting anyone. It was reaching its peak and she wouldn't be able to control herself. Sky gritted her teeth. Is this possibly the baby's power?

Shadow was just smirking the entire time. Had Cain failed to understand why she'd asked him to play with Rose? No one could get under Rose's skin like he did. She'd wanted Rose angry, among other things.

"What makes you think that's a bad thing?" She wasn't all that worried about Rose. She wanted the world to know what Rose could really do, especially when she was still as furious as physically possible. She might not be in control of her actions, but it would make things very interesting. "Just think Cain, if a girl of her age can do as much damage as she did here, what sort of trouble could she cause in a city... Where she's being attacked by people trying to stop her?" She was grinning so much today, they would understand though. It was utterly terrify the girl, driving her power to a whole new level. She didn't have the self control to know when to stop, or how to stop.

She ignored Sky, just giving her a side look, before motion to Cain to handle it, Shadow slowly wandering off....

[cain]

"Ah, of course, how foolish of me not to notice." he chuckled, "We set Rose free, she destroys the world, and we just sit back and watch it burn."

He couldn't help but laugh at the irony of it all. The on one person in the world nobody would suspect to cause damage, and it's the most dangerous of all the Nightshade family. He looked to Sky, his attention drawn to her as Shadow walked off. He helped her stand, allowing her to lean against him for strength.

"What is it?"

[sky]

"I don't know...maybe it's just this stupid pregnancy. But..." Sky hesitated. She wasn't sure if it was just the pregnancy. Maybe it was part of the baby's power? She leaned against Cain, sweat beading on her brow. This was awful...

[cain]

"Come, you need rest."

He picked up Sky in his arms and carried her to her room. All thoughts of Rose and Shadow left him as he carried his beloved. Something was going on inside her and he didn't know what it was. Pitsha never told him what could happen if two mutants as powerful as Cain and Sky got together.
