Things started to happen after Rose woke up, but few were loud enough to draw attention. Shadow had taken the girl down to the lowest levels of the base, the farthest reaches from anything that might disturb them. Especially Sky or Cain. Ever since the two had fallen for each other both of them had become over protective of the girl. Sky because she’d always been, and Cain because Sky had told him to. What a pathetic reason… But no, she wouldn’t tolerate any disruptions from them, no matter how much they disapproved of her… methods. Her methods worked, and Rose responded to them, always had. It was the quickest way she learned… Probably why her power hadn’t progressed more than a few steps during her time at the school. That wasn’t how Rose was supposed to learn. No, the only way Rose learned, was through fear. That had always been her trigger. When Rose got scared, she started to feed off of emotions she’d been taught as a child. Her mind literally shut down and went on auto pilot, doing only what she had been taught, no matter who or what she was targeting. Even those closest to her. If that trigger in her head went off, she wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between friend and foe. Rose was awake now, and she wasn’t at all happy. She recognize Shadow on sight, though she was a lot older then she remembered, after all, Rose only knew who Shadow was from a memory from when she was little. Rose was terrified as well, unsure of what was happening to her, why this was happening to her, and so on. Finally, Shadow had enough of the pity, party, and began to… refresh Rose on what exactly happened when Shadow got annoyed. Again, Cain and Sky wouldn’t stop her when they realized Shadow wasn’t ‘intentionally’ harming the girl, her mistakes caused her injuries, like all Nightshade training did. And once Rose had finally remastered her power, all the work would be put to good use. Starting with a demonstration… _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Two weeks of intensive training. That’s how long it took for Rose to finally get the hang of her new found abilities. But she did finally seem to start to understand the concept. Now, it really would just be constant practice that taught her the rest. Already though…. With what control Rose did had, she could just about beat Shadow in a one on one battle, and that thought alone scared near anyone that knew about it. She wanted to put Rose to the ultimate test though. Rose knew how Shadow attacked and moved, probably why Rose was slowly getting closer and closer to beating the older woman. But she wanted to see just how well Rose would hold up against someone powerful, but relatively unfamiliar… So, she’d asked both Sky and Cain to come. Sky to watch, and Cain to witness for himself just how powerful a natural talent like Rose could really be…

Today wasn't the best day to get Cain's attention. News had reached his ear that Ian was healed and was now back at full speed, literally. What's worse, it seems that David was attempting to look for a weakness to Cain's power, but that didn't worry him half as much as it did knowing that the sister was still alive. How many times did he have to kill people before they just died? He felt the sudden urge to go and destroy a city again, which he often did when he was bored or upset.
However, those plans were quickly changed when one of the Nightmares told him Shadow requested his presence. With a small growl towards the young mutant, he headed down towards the lower parts of the island, following the mutant's directions. He came to the door where he was told to enter, opening it and stepping inside, looking to Shadow and Rose.
"This had better be worth interrupting my time, Shadow. I'm not in the best of moods today." granted Cain was never in "the best of moods", but today just seemed to put him in a worse mood.

Personally, Shadow quite preferred when Cain was in a foul mood if only because he wasn't attached to Sky at the time. It wouldn't really last though, she knew that. When the little game began Cain would soon forget what was angering him. She'd bet on that.
Shadow stood near the door, Rose sitting in the middle of the room with an unreadable expression. When the door opened, both Nightshades looked at him, a smirk crossing Shadow's expression. "I assure you, you won't be disappointed." She slowly looked back to Rose, pausing for only a moment. "I think it's about time you realized how far Rose has come. Why don't you test her for a little bit?" She stepped back, off against the wall to lean against it, slowly raising her voice.
"Rose, you'd like to play tag with your big brother, wouldn't you?"

Sky had felt how angry Cain was about Ian and the Sampsons. But right now, her power was out of control. All of the Nightmares steered clear of her as mind piecing screams nearly caused anyone near to collapse in pain, clutching their heads and bleed out of their ears. Sky clutched her belly, her eyes red as tears ran down her cheeks. She ran to her bathroom, heaving up anything that was in her stomach at that time.
It wasn't until her power calmed down that one of the Nightmares came to her and told about Shadow having Cain going against Rose. So...her training was complete? Her power spiked again and the messenger just sprinted out, clutching his head, as Sky screamed. Finally...she calmed down and hobbled her way down where Shadow and Cain were. "Ro-chan...

Rose's emotions were unreadable, just like her expression. She didn't know what Shadow had planned... In the last week she had become very wary and respectful of the older woman, if only because of the beating she got if a mistake was made. Recently though, she'd started to notice things getting easier. Shadow didn't seem as powerful as she had been. Rose knew Shadow wasn't losing in strength, Rose was just getting stronger.
Still, her powers were near uncontrollable when things got out of hand. Shadow had just said self control was different then power control, and it was the self control she lacked. That she'd have to learn that on her own. Was she lacking self control? She didn't know....
Then, Cain and Sky were there, Rose just stared at them, indifference in her expression. She'd seen them near none since being brought here. At first she'd wanted to know what Sky was like, but now she found herself caring less and less. Shadow was the teacher, and all Rose needed to know right now, Shadow could teach her. She didn't react to Shadow asking her if she wanted to 'play' with Cain, but her interest peaked a little, her head lifting a touch. Now she was curious, just how much had she learned since Shadow had taken her under her wing?

"Surely you're joking, Shadow."
He gave a small 'psh' before the sentence, not finding Rose a threat to him. Shadow had brought him down to play with the ? But when she looked up at him, something unnerved him about her. She seemed different, almost unfeeling towards everything around her. He didn't know what Shadow had done, but something was definitely different about Rose.
But to have his attention on her instead of what he felt needed to be done? That only angered him the most, and the mental barriers he had worked on building seemed to be assaulted by Sky daily. Thankfully he was able to hold them enough to where he wouldn't feel the pain the Nightmares were feeling around him. Anyone could tell he was angry, even the torment of the mutants around him didn't make him happy. Now shadow wanted him to waist his time?
"I have better things to do today then play with children. Don't waist my time, woman." he glared at Shadow, turning to leave the room.

Shadow just raised an eyebrow at Cain, her expression blank for a moment, before suddenly she was smirking. As if she knew something that Cain didn't, which she did. "I don't joke about things like this." She really didn't care that Cain wasn't willing to play so willingly, Rose would though. And that was all that really mattered. As he turned to leave, Shadow just sighed, the action forced.
"That's a really bad idea, Cain. Rose doesn't like people turning their backs to her..." She was grinning, even more sinister then her usual. "Rose, why don't you show him why?" Shadow paused again, lowering her voice so only Cain would hear. "Do you really think someone I've personally trained is going to be a waste of your time?"

Was he leaving? Did he not want to play with her? Rose's eyes slowly started to narrow. He was treating her like a child...? Unwilling only because of her age? That made her angry. Not to mention Shadow had been right when she said Rose really didn't like people's backs to her.
Rose didn't move from where she sat, her arms wrapped lightly around her knees, her chin resting on her knees again, staring far to intently at Cain. She seemed to be waiting for the exact moment.... Suddenly a strange black wall leaped into existence in front of him, spikes all across it's surface, as if threatening to impale him if he took another step. She still didn't move, just stared at him, watching to see his reaction.

Sky looked at Rose with longing and her eyes narrowed. Her sister didn't recognize her and pain pierced through her heart. Why wouldn't she remember? But as she looked further, Sky noticed that Rose was numb and completely different. She was stable...but it was very shallow. It could break out any second. She then turned to Cain, sending him a private message.
"I would be careful, my love. Rose is much more powerful than before."

Cain was just about at the door, ignoring Shadow's words. He reached for the door when a black wall of force appeared, spikes shooting out and almost impaling him. His own eyes narrowed at the wall, then turned and looked to Rose. She was staring at him, her own eyes narrowed.
"Do not test me, girl, today is not the day."
He then looked to Sky as her message appeared in his head. Very well, if she wishes to play, then I apologize in advance. He then looked to Shadow and nodded, then looked to Rose. He braced his feet against the floor, the metal material changing him to match it. What the three of them didn't know about him, was when he changed to a certain material, he controlled it. The entire room had now become a deathtrap.
"Let's play."
He said that to many people when he spoke, those words usually ending in the death or fatal injuries to those around him. He would play with Rose first, just to test what she could do. The floor under her jerked upwards, causing the chair to launch forward with her on it.

The look Cain was giving her didn't even phase Rose. She didn't even seem to react at all to it, actually! Nor did she move to stand when he finally spoke, she just sat there, staring. And then, Cain started to change. He was covered in Metal. She knew that. He became what he touched. More memories had been starting to return to her. Like when Cain had almost killed her. Perhaps that explained her indifference towards him.
Suddenly though, she and the chair she'd been sitting in were tossed into the air. Still, little reaction from her. But this time, the wall she'd created vanished, a platform of sorts appearing underneath her to catch her landing. It vanished after, lightly letting to drop to the floor standing now. This time though.... that indifferent look was gone. Slowly, she started to smile, a smile that Cain had never seen touch her lips before.
"You're repeating tricks I've already seen..." The first time she'd spoken since Cain and Sky had arrived. Her voice was quiet, but unnerving, bare of all emotions. Cain might not have realized it before, but he would now. She remembered that first time he attacked her. He'd used the cement to crush her. "I don't fall for the same tricks twice..."
Rose slowly took a step forward, shapes forming in the air surrounding her. The same black matter. Only this time they weren't forming into a wall.
It was spears.
With only a blink, they shot through the air at him, a dozen spears flying towards Cain at blinding speeds.

He smiled when she fell, enjoying that he had caused her pain, or so he thought. When she stood up and smiled at him, he knew that Rose had changed. Then she spoke, talking of how he was using the same tricks as last time. Last time? Of course, they had fought before and he had almost crushed her. It was the first time they met, and the first time he met Sky. He watched as the orbs appeared in the air and then changed to spears. He sheilded himself as the spears hit him hard. When they were done, he lowered his arm and saw that she had damaged him. There were parts of his form that had been chipped and scraped in many places, even his face. He looked up at her and smiled, the screeching of metal being heard as the wounds closed.
"Good, you remember me. Then you'll also remember I'm not easily defeated, girl."
He narrowed his eyes at her, returning the smile. From the ceiling, spears of metal began to lunge down at her, then disappearing into the ceiling again. They began coming from other places as well, first the ceiling, then the walls, then the floor, and then all places at once, each one aiming to hit Rose.

Rose wouldn't admit that she only remembered him a little, just that battle. After that, he was a complete mystery to her. Still, it made her her angry that he'd tried to kill her once before. And now... It was time for her own revenge. He thought he could defeat her like that again? He was in for a rude awakening...
She just smirked when he started his own attack, as if turning her own attack against her at a much higher extreme. "Copy cat." was all she bothered to say as a that black matter of hers surrounded her completely, putting her in a sphere so as all the attacks from him met the impenetrable matter. At that same moment though two walls of her creation appeared on each side of Cain, slamming towards each other, trying to completely and totally squash him.

The spears vanished when the sphere formed around her. She was really starting to irritate him, and when the two walls appeared next to him, he braced for their impact. He did his best to push them back, but they were crushing him. Since he was incased in metal, all it did was flatten him, but he began to grow extremely angry. More then angry, he was beginning to want nothing more then to hurt her.
He did his best to remember his promise to Sky, but as his form sunk into the metallic floor, he prepared to show her that he's not easily defeated. The room was still for a moment, but Sky could hear Cain's words in her head. Let's see how she hits something she can't see and he tried to hide it, but the irritation in his words were even shown in his mind. Suddenly what looked like a large piston came out from behind Rose, aiming to hit her in her back and hard.

The sphere vanished, letting Rose's feet touch the floor once more. She was smirking, as if asking if that was all he had. She was barely even doing anything and he was getting angry! It almost made her laugh. It was a game after all.... No need to get mad.
Rose's reaction was small when he melted into the ground, her walls vanishing as her gaze started to wander. Now where was he going to come up? She smirked even more. Men always attacked from behind. They thought you wouldn't turn. She looked over her shoulder just in time to see the attack, a barrier shooting up to protect her. Only, it didn't stay still. It went rushing to meet the attack, not just to neutralize it, but cause some damage herself.
