"Went about as usual, they didn't want me to come back. Said they'd feel better if their family was humans only."
What he didn't tell her was that his younger brother had decided that he was an only child now. He tried not to seem to irritated about it, but having your friend snap at you after being gone for so long didn't make his welcome easy. Kat was already acting weird, and now he was assaulted by Rogue. Things just weren't coming out well for him today.
"What's gotten everybody on edge these days? I come in and it's like a person can jump a mile just by taping their shoulders."

She had to admit that she felt bad about snapping at him, but she left out the tidbit about her being unsure of where she stood with him anymore. She didn't know if they were still dating or if they had drifted into a break up or what, but that was another thing wearing on her nerves.
"I'm sorry. I really wish that humans would stop being so judgemental over such a little thing as DNA. It's like segregation all over again."
She exhaled a sigh, again.
"I found out who my actual mother is and since then I've been...a bit more edgy that usual I suppose."
Despite how much she wanted so sob at the top of her lungs that her mother was an enemy of her's, and all of the X-men. She was even too ashamed to tell Nightcrawler, who she now knew was her brother, all thanks to a small touch from Mystique, which she already regretted more than anything.

"I don't let it bother me, I already know who my real family is."
He didn't know whether to just take Rogue and kiss her, or just stand their staring at her. When she said that she knew who her mother was, he could tell it was bothering her. What was so bad about knowing who your own mother was? Isn't that every child's dream? Was her mother a human? Evil? Bobby leaned in and gave Rogue a soft kiss on the lips, holding it for a moment before breaking. He didn't want to give her his powers ally.
"So who is she?"

When Bobby kissed her, something envigorating shot down her spine and up again, but that didn't distract her from the question he asked. She sighed and looked around, realizing that they were far from alone and eavesdropping wouldn't be hard and if her mother was discovered, her intentions with the X-men might be twisted into something else like what happened with Xavier's granddaughter.
"Not here."
She took his hand and yanked him with her into a wooded area where they were lesss likely to be heard.
"Don't jump to conclusions. I'm ashamed as it is." She drew a deep breath before speaking. "Her name is Raven Darkholme. You would know her better as Mystique."

He was a little put down when she didn't kiss him back, but something deep seemed to be bugging her. He could always tell that there was something major wrong when she didn't return his kiss. He was a little surprised when she grabbed his hand and practically towed him to a small, wooded area. When she told him who her mother was, his jaw literally dropped. He stayed stunned for a moment, but was able to regain his composure.
"Rogue, I...how? You don't even look like her, I mean, even without the blue skin."
He couldn't understand why or how a woman like Rogue would be the daughter of someone such as Mystique. He smiled though, reaching up and placing his hands on her shoulders. Whether or not she was Mystique's daughter, he still loved her just the same.
"Mystique's daughter or not, you're still Rogue, and that's all that matters to me."

"Oh that aint it." she continued, raising her voice slightly. "I have a brother you know too. Nightcrawler. Kurt is my older brother and he doesn't even know because I don't have the heart to tell him that he's my brother and our mother threw him over a bridge in Germany when he was a baby to cover up the fact that she's a mutant! Oh, and I have another brother she abandoned, and it turns out that he's a politian aimed against mutant rights. I doubt he even knows where he came from. He's the son of my mother and Logan's brother, who Logan doesn't know is he brother and I just can't take it anymore! Ugh!"
She breathed heavily before collaping to her knees.
"Like I said. Everythin is explodin'."

Ever seen a guy try to catch everything that was coming at him? The kind of person that kept listening but was absorbing so much that he just started leaning forward slightly until it it was all absorbed? Yeah, that was bobby at that point. She had two brothers, one from Logan's brother, which would make her...Logan's niece? Her other brother was Nightcrawler, which would explain the blue skin in his case. When Rogue dropped to her knees, he knelt down in front of her, his hand rubbing her back gently.
"I'll help you through this, ok? We'll face this thing together."

Without warning, she closed the distance between them and burried her face in his shoulder and started weeping. She had been keeping all of these emotions welled up for so long that she finally was able to release them, her arms wrapped under his arms and around his shoulders.
"I'm sorry."
She muttered softly into his shirt, unwilling to look at him and have him see her blotchy face and red eyes.'
"I dyed my hair. I don't think a lot of people like it." she said suddenly, hoping to change the subject.

"Don't apologize, you didn't know."
He did his best to comfort her, not knowing what else to do. But suddenly she had her arms around him, crying into his shirt. He smiled, putting his own arms around her and holding her close, letting her cry into him. He moved his fingers through her hair, kissing the top of her head when she asked about her hair.
"I like it, you look great."

*She laughed lightly, shook her head and pulled away from him, wiping the tears from her eyes before looking at him.*
"I was apologizing for sobbing on you. Granted, you probably don't mind, but I'm still apologizing."
She combed through her hair with her fingers and glanced at its tips, examining them a bit before replying.
"A lot of the guys have thought that. Logan was the first one who saw me with it, and besides you he was the only one who recognized me."

"You can cry on me anytime."
He smiled, laughing a bit when she said what she was apologizing for. He thought she was apologizing for snapping at him, but he was glad to see a little of the old Rogue back now that she was more calm and had gotten her tears and frustration out. He gave a small laugh when she said that Logan and him were the only ones that recognized her. Logan was easy to explain because that's how she ended up there.
"You're not easy to miss with me, but that's because I know how beautiful your face was."

*She stuck her tongue out at him playfully.*
"Just because I can, that doesn't mean I wanna. I'm just a bit overwhelmed. But at least I know my family is as bizarre as I am and we're all fighting for the same thing, some of use just more stupidly and violently and disgustingly than others."
She shuddered, still disgusted at knowing who gave birth to her.
"Are you suckin' up to me?" Rogue questioned teasingly, arching a brow, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Yeah, form what I've heard around school, things are getting pretty crazy."
When Rogue stuck her tongue out at him, he just smiled. It was good to be home, especially with Rogue being there waiting for him. He needed a little relief from the way Kat was acting, and he still couldn't understand what had caused her to start crying. He smiled when she asked if he was sucking up to her, letting his fingers play through her hair as she smirked at him.
"I dunno, is it working?"

"Honestly, if there's somethin' I don't need to get involved in then I'll be sure to keep my distance. I, personally, can't stand politics and in a more...violent way, that's what we're involved in. I really hope I won't be reduced to runnin' for the Senate or somethin'. I wouldn't blame Beast if that was the reason he came back."
His fingers in her hair made her smile and force a light shrug.
"Maybe it is, maybe it ain't."
Rogue truly wished to close the distance between them with a kiss, but since she had hurt him at his house, she no longer initiated it, even though he was insistant that she hadn't harmed him.

"Yeah, even politics seems to be getting rough."
He had to admit that frustration between mutants and humans had gotten worse instead of better after the big fight on the island. He smiled at Rogue as she smiled, seeing that she was still feeling the same feelings she felt around him. He didn't waist time then, leaning in and kissing her softly. He knew it wouldn't be long before her powers kicked in, but he also was able to time it. He would pull away as soon as he felt something happening to him.
