Hayley smirked slightly. "So... I may have tuned you out a little," she picked up another rock off the bank and looked at it a momentas she continued, "but it had nothing to do with boredom, trust me." The rock that was still in her hand was a different color than the other ones. It was almost pure white. She picked up another one and threw it, but put the white one in her jacket pocket. She must admit, she liked silver pebbles. She rarely found one that was smooth like that one, but she wondered what her new friend would think of her stealing a little stone off the river bank.
Paperwork, blah, she thought. Hayley already despised his job, even though she still couldn't pronounce it. She was kind of interested in the fast reading part. She was a pretty fast reader, too. And they had bother finished high school way early, so she wondered if his college degree let him read faster than her. Might be something to try out someday. But she was too lazy to do anything involving paper and words right now. She just liked throwing the stones into the river.
She smiled at him after a moment. "I like the secretary idea," she nodded. "Paperwork stinks."
