"Probably not, but you knowing about the Ellwoods might sway him a little." Parker wasn't an idiot. If he knew Jane had gotten involved it would definitely shock him, especially considering many of the things she'd told him were considered family secrets.
She looked up with both her eyebrows raised when he asked if she was to old to be grounded. "What are you talking about? I'm only seventeen." A moment passed before she finally laughed, shaking her head. "Do I seriously look older then you?" Curse her height! Being six feet tall was making her look older then she was.

"I won't tell him then."
He smiled a bit, having the feeling that whatever the Ellwood family was about, wasn't something that would be known for public news. He gave her a surprised look when she said she was only seventeen. Is she serious? When she asked him if she really looked older to him, he just nodded his head and shrugged.
"Well yeah, I figured you to be at least almost twenty."

Jane sighed. Now she was making her family out to look like dealers or something! "It's not what you think. My family just... well we aren't as involved in the mutant world as the Nightshades. We tend to stay out of these kinds of things, since all they really care about is the family business." She rolled her eyes. "That's why I couldn't even tell you my last name until we came here, because if some idiot found out I was an Ellwood... Well things would get hairy." He might not have made the connection before, but he might now. The Ellwoods happened to be the 'rulers' of the Airline world.
His shock made her laugh even more. "Yeah, I get that a lot. Comes with being taller then everyone else." She rolled her eyes. It didn't help that she didn't exactly act like most 17 year olds, preferring to spend her time reading and studying, rarely ever associating with anyone around her age.

"Gotcha."
He didn't really understand it as much as she thought, but he left it as is figuring it was better that way. When she laughed about his comment on her looking older, he smiled even more. It was good to have a laugh even during serious times. Another look at the map and where he had to go, then gazing out of where they were over the land.
"So...I guess I should start looking then. The sooner I find her, the better."

As soon as Ian was done evaluating the map, it vanished, Jane back to leaning against the table with a slightly bored look. She still couldn't figure out why she was the one that had to explain all this, maybe because she was close to his age? Maybe because he'd trust a girl more then a guy? The possibilities were endless. Or.... Well not endless, but near.
"Maybe." She paused, silence returning as she thought even more. "You know, if she is near her original age, you might have the best luck beginning after the local schools ended. Because I'm sure her new body went to one of the public schools before... And if the body isn't quite as close.... well there's a college near there.." Why was she so interested in helping him? She'd helped him come up with ways to find this Rose with out having to...
Finally Jane sighed, shaking her head, unable to come up with any reason. Maybe... It was because he could do something about this coming war. Something that her family chose to stay out of even though they could help end it! It made her so furious! "You're lucky you know.... As odd as it sounds..." She paused for only a moment, slowly standing back up from the table and wandering to the steps of the gazebo to stare up at the blue sky. "You might not think it, but being able to do something... Anything, about everything that is happening... I'm jealous."

"True, it is the school year. I'll start at schools around the hospital, then work my way out."
He watched as the map completely vanished after he looked it over. So much for me taking it with he thought, forgetting that Jane was able to read thoughts. When she walked over to the edge of the gazebo, telling him how lucky he was that he was actually able to do things and get involved, he stood up and walked towards the opposite end, leaning forward against the edge with his hands on the railing.
"Maybe it's better that way." his voice emotionless as he spoke, "You don't have to worry about your friends being in trouble, your family being killed or..." a small tear began to escape his eye, "Or watching someone you care about die infront of you."
To be honest, all that's happened had pretty much made Ian stop fighting. He knew there were problems out there, things that needed fixing and people that needed help, but after all that's happened he lost his will. His parents death, him and Alex being turned evil, Faith and Rose being killed. All just seemed to finally collapse ontop of him, not even knowing that Sky wanted him dead seemed to affect him.

Jane chuckled softly when she caught his thoughts, shaking her head. "You wouldn't have been able to. I created it in this dimension, and things made here can't be taken out." It really was an inconvenience at times like these, but there wasn't anything she could do about it.
Again, his reaction make her laugh a little as he moved to the other side of the gazebo. He hadn't been paying close attention to her, obviously. "What friends?" She paused for only a moment, her gaze wandering back to Ian with a small sad smile. She'd never experienced most of the things in his life, losing people close to him, having people after his life, they were foreign concepts to her. "I'm not much help, I guess. The only people close to me are my brothers, and even if I did get involved Cain wouldn't be able to touch them. They're strong, really strong... Not to mention if Cain did come after them he'd cause an all out war among the Ancient families, cause the Ancient families aren't supposed to attack each other. He'd have my entire family after his head, and the Nightshades wouldn't be able to do anything about it because we outnumber them." That would probably shock Ian, knowing that the Nightshades weren't the largest Ancient family out there. Sure, they had horrifyingly strong members, but when it came down to it, the Nightshades wouldn't stand a chance.
Jane sighed, shaking her head as she leaned against the railing. "Better to stay out of it..?" She was deep in thought, trying to figure out why someone like him, who had seen all the chaos first hand would say something like that. "If people don't stop him though... What about the people he hurts? They are loved ones... parents, children, friends, lovers... Getting involved comes with risks, yeah... But are we supposed to let him do the same thing to them as he's done to you?" Her gaze slowly wandered back to Ian, her expression hard to read. "Do you want people to suffer the same way?"

Ian sighed as he listened to her talk, telling him about how she didn't have much of a life outside of her home. He could see how she didn't want her family to get involved, already dealing with one war and not wanting another, even it it was between three families. He stared down at his hands, even when the talked about the dangers of even staying out of it. Then she asked him, would he sit by and let others face what he did?
Another thought came into his mind then, a thought he hadn't had in a long time. The family in the park, threatened by thugs, and the little giving him a bracelet with a small smile. He gripped the railing tightly, imagining that same family all because he decided to stay out of it. Other families suffering through people like Cain. He looked up, staring out over the grounds, then turning to look at Jane.
"You're right, I can't sit by and let this happen. Cain needs to be stopped."

It seemed that Ian was finally coming out of his rut, well a little out of his rut. He still had a long way to go though. A long way.
Jane turned around, leaning back against the railing with her elbows resting on the hard wood so she could watch him with a curious, but serious expression. Again, there was something in the way of him being able to do just that though. "How are you going to do it though?" She raised an eyebrow as she watched him, waiting for a reaction of any kind. He was a runner after all. How was he, someone who was supposed to only be good at running away, going to help stop Cain?

He thought about it for a moment. How was he going to stop Cain when all he could do is run? He wondered how that would be able to stop Cain when all it did was cause him to destroy his own factory. He then smiled, though it wasn't the smile he usually made, instead it was a smile that showed that something had formed in his mind. He turned and looked to Jane, hopping up and sitting on the railing, supporting and balancing himself with his hands.
"I'll get a team together, people who've faced Cain in the past. I'm sure others out there would be able to help with the fight."
